Before the car moves, walk around it with the person handing it over and have every scratch and dent written into the agreement or the inspection sheet. Both sides sign that document and a copy stays with you — without it, damage found later is charged to the renter. It takes four minutes on a Sandero and saves an argument weeks later. The same sheet records the fuel level, which matters because the fuel policy is agreed when booking: out full, back full. If you cover less than 100 km, keep the filling-station receipt; above that distance the gauge reading at 8/8 is enough, and the tank has to be filled within 25 km of the return point.

If the model you booked is not available, you are entitled to another car at no extra cost, even a class above; if you are given a lower class, the price has to come down.
