Sedan or SUV — choosing for a Turkish route
Four of the eight cars are sedans and four are SUVs, all with automatic transmission. Three of the sedans are rear- or front-wheel drive with 2.0 L engines between 197 and 204 hp, and the S-Class runs a 3.0 L with 381 hp; the diesel SUVs run 4x4 with 2.0–3.0 L units from 204 to 286 hp, and the Audi Q7 is the only one here that seats seven. On long motorway runs the diesel SUVs sit comfortably at speed, while in tight city streets the sedans are easier to place and to park. In our experience, a couple on a city-and-airport itinerary is better served by the E-Class or the A6, and anyone heading out to Şile or Sapanca with luggage should take the X5 or the Velar. Daily rates start at ₺7,500 and reach ₺15,000, and the figure follows the car. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class sits at the bottom of the range, the Audi A6 at ₺7,600 and the BMW 5 Series at ₺7,800. The SUVs step up: BMW X5 at ₺11,000, Land Rover Velar at ₺11,500, Audi Q7 at ₺12,000, Porsche Macan at ₺14,000. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class closes the range at ₺15,000. Because the rate is tied to the model, two models can be weighed against each other on price before booking. Pick the body type first, then the budget line, rather than the other way round. In our experience the choice usually settles on luggage, not on horsepower.

A weekly booking is priced at daily × 6, from ₺45,000, and a monthly booking at daily × 21, from ₺157,500. The multiplier is fixed, so the effective cost per day falls the longer you keep the car. Run your own total before you choose a term, and ask the manager to confirm it for your dates. Long stays also change what you should book: a month of city driving on a sedan wears better than a month of parking a large 4x4 in tight streets.

Documents, age and eligibility for foreign renters
For luxury car rental in Turkey a foreign renter needs four things: a passport, an entry stamp, a home driving licence, and an International Driving Permit when that licence is not in Latin script. We also ask for a credit card in the main driver's name — it is held for the security hold, not charged as a fee.

Age and driving experience
Age and driving-experience requirements rise with the class of car, so a Porsche Macan or a Mercedes-Benz S-Class is not handed to the same profile as an Audi A6. The rule follows the class across the whole range rather than per individual model — the older and the more experienced the driver, the wider the choice. The exact thresholds for your dates are confirmed when booking, and the conditions you agree to are set out in the rental agreement. In our practice, most refusals at hand-over come from a licence held for too short a time, not from age — so tell the manager your driving history before you pick a model.
Insurance, tolls and the card hold
The compulsory third-party insurance covers every registered vehicle in Turkey by law, and it applies to all eight luxury cars on this page. HGS, the electronic toll system, is required for the bridges and motorway gates around Istanbul, and an unpaid passage can be penalised at four times the toll, so settle it rather than leave it. What to have ready at hand-over
A passport, an entry stamp, your home driving licence and — if that licence is not in Latin script — an International Driving Permit. A credit card in the main driver's name is required for the security hold. Anything beyond that, including the deposit amount and the terms of the insurance, is set out in the rental agreement, and the manager walks you through it before you take the keys.

Compulsory traffic insurance — the cover every Turkish car carries
Compulsory third-party insurance covers every registered vehicle in Turkey by law, so any car you take from our fleet — from the Mercedes-Benz E-Class at ₺7,500 a day to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class at ₺15,000 — carries it. This is third-party cover: it responds to injury or damage you cause to other people and their property. What sits above that baseline is a different question, and the extent of any additional package is set out in the rental agreement rather than assumed here. HGS — paying for the bridges and motorway gates
HGS is Turkey's electronic toll system, and it is required for the bridges and motorway gates you meet on the roads out of Istanbul. The mechanics of how a passage is recorded and settled are described on our HGS page. One detail worth knowing: an unpaid passage, an unauthorized toll passage, can be penalised at four times the toll if it is not settled in time, so it is worth checking the toll position before you set off. Current tariffs include ₺110 for the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, ₺280 by day and ₺140 at night through the Eurasia Tunnel, and ₺1,170 for the Osmangazi Bridge. When a driver makes sense
For a group arriving at Istanbul Airport or Sabiha Gökçen, a car with a driver removes the first-hour problem entirely: no navigation and no unfamiliar lanes on the way to Şişli, Beşiktaş or Levent. The same applies to a full day of meetings across the city, where parking between stops costs more time than the drive itself.
