What to Know Before You Pick a Class

• Right-hand drive: every car in the fleet is right-hand drive, and traffic keeps to the left — the first hour takes concentration.
• Seat counts: the fleet spans 2, 5, 7, 11 and 12 seats, so a group of twelve fits in one Commuter or Hiace.
• Fuel types: Petrol, Diesel, Hybrid and Electric are all available; the bZ4X is the only fully electric model.
• Transmissions: Automatic dominates, with Manual only on the Hilux Revo Smart Cab and the Hiace.

Daily Rates by Class

The span runs from ฿950 for Economy to ฿5,850 for the premium MPVs — the Alphard and the Vellfire, both seven-seaters with a 2.5 L petrol engine. Minivans are the largest group on this page at seven cars, and they start lower than the Crossovers: a seven-seat Veloz at ฿1,300 sits below a five-seat Yaris Cross at ฿1,500. The single Electric car, the bZ4X at ฿4,700, sits near the top of the range.

Weekly and Monthly Rates

Weekly rates start at ฿5,700 and monthly rates at ฿19,950. The arithmetic is fixed and worth doing yourself before you choose a class: weekly is the daily rate multiplied by six, monthly is the daily rate multiplied by twenty-one. Take the Corolla Altis at ฿1,750 a day — a week on that car comes to ฿10,500 on the same multiplier, and a month to ฿36,750. The longer the booking, the more the class you pick matters, because the multiplier stays the same while the base figure does not. If your dates in Bangkok stretch past a week, price both the daily and the weekly column for the class you actually want rather than the cheapest one on the page.

What the Figure Does Not Include

• Security hold: a bank card in the main driver's name is used for it, and the amount is set out in the rental agreement.
• Delivery: the address, date and time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed; a delivery fee, if any, is agreed when booking.
• Insurance excess: first-class cover on the car is in place, and its terms and the excess are set out in the rental agreement.
• Traffic fines: camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter, so they arrive after the rental ends.

What We Need Before the Car Is Confirmed

• Delivery address: a hotel, a condo or Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) — the address, the date and the time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed.
• Length of hire: tell us if you are near seven days or near a month; weekly rates start at ฿5,700 and monthly rates at ฿19,950, and the rate follows the class you chose.
• Driver details: the main driver's passport, home driving licence and, unless you hold an ASEAN licence, an International Driving Permit under the 1949 Geneva Convention.
• Security hold: a bank card in the main driver's name; the amount is set out in the rental agreement.

Drivers must be at least 21, and the conditions for drivers under 25 and for the premium classes are set out in the rental agreement.

Confirming and Collecting

Once the details are agreed, we confirm the model and the delivery time, and the car arrives clean with a full tank. Hire is available from one day, so a single day in the city is a normal booking for us, not a special request.

Driving a Toyota Car Rental in Bangkok

Speed limits are fixed by law: 80 km/h in built-up areas, 90 km/h outside them, 120 km/h on the motorways, 110 km/h on the expressways and 100 km/h on elevated sections. On Motorway 7, the Bangkok–Chonburi–Pattaya route, the 120 km/h limit is enforced primarily by speed cameras, and camera fines are issued to the registered owner of the car — that is, to the company — and re-invoiced to the driver.

Tolls, Parking and the Practical Bits

• EXAT expressways: the city expressways (Chaloem Maha Nakhon, Si Rat and others) take cash or an Easy Pass tag; M-PASS tags are interchangeable with Easy Pass, but only one tag per car.
• Motorway 7: nine payment points; from the Lat Krabang entrance a car pays ฿25 to Bang Bo, ฿100 to Pong and ฿105 to Pattaya — this is the road past Suvarnabhumi that most airport-to-coast hires use.
• Motorway 9: the outer Kanchanaphisek ring runs barrier-free M-Flow — a camera reads the plate and the bill follows. M-Flow must be paid within two days by plate number; from the third day the tariff doubles, and after that come the tariff, double the tariff and a fine of ten times the tariff.
• Parking: CentralWorld gives two hours free, then ฿20/hour, and ฿50/hour after six; ICONSIAM gives two hours free, ฿30 for the third hour and ฿60/hour after seven.
• Low Emission Zone: the restrictions target vehicles with six or more wheels on high-PM2.5 days — cars and pickups are not covered.

Documents, Fines and What to Check Before You Move

• Home licence plus International Driving Permit: a foreign visitor needs both — the IDP is recognised under the 1949 Geneva Convention; ASEAN nationals may drive on their national licence.
• Fine for driving without the permit: ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim.
• Compulsory insurance: Por Ror Bor covers injury to third parties and is attached to every registered car; first-class cover for damage to the car, its terms and the excess are set out in the rental agreement.
• Alcohol: 20 mg/dl applies to drivers under 20, holders of temporary licences, drivers without a licence or with a licence of the wrong category; refusing a test counts as an admission.
• Child seats: children under six must use a TISI-standard seat, and those below 135 cm need a seat or a proper restraint — the fine runs up to ฿2,000.

Insurance on a Toyota Car Rental in Bangkok

Every registered Thai car carries compulsory motor insurance, Por Ror Bor, which covers injury to third parties. On top of that, first-class (Class 1) insurance covers damage to the car itself — its terms and the excess are set out in the agreement, not quoted here as a figure.

Rules That Affect the Paperwork

Since 30 December 2025 a car rental agreement is a contract controlled by the OCPB: it is written in Thai, and all fees and penalties are disclosed in it. Traffic-camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter — on Motorway 7 towards Pattaya the speed limit is enforced primarily by cameras. VAT 7% is already included in the prices shown.

What to Sort Before You Book Toyota Car Rental in Bangkok

Documents to Have Ready

• ASEAN nationals: if you hold a licence from an ASEAN member state, you drive on that national licence and do not need a permit.
• Passport: the main driver's passport, matching the name on the booking.
• Bank card: a card in the main driver's name is used for the security hold; the amount is set out in the rental agreement.

Driving without a valid permit carries a police fine of ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim after an incident — the fine is the smaller problem of the two. The minimum driver age is 21, and the conditions that apply to drivers under 25, and to the premium classes, are set out in the rental agreement rather than quoted here.
