What makes a sports car different from a standard hire
All three cars on this page are rear-wheel drive with an automatic transmission and a petrol engine, so the difference is in power and body, not in how you drive them. The BMW Z4 M40i runs a 3.0 L engine with 340 hp, the Porsche 718 Boxster a 2.0 L with 300 hp, and the Porsche 911 Carrera a 3.0 L with 385 hp. Two of them are convertibles with two seats, one is a coupé with four. Rear-wheel drive rewards smooth inputs on Thai roads; the throttle is best applied after the car is straight, not mid-corner.

BMW Z4 M40i and Porsche 718 Boxster as two-seat convertibles
The BMW Z4 M40i and the Porsche 718 Boxster are both two-seat convertibles with a petrol engine, an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The Z4 M40i runs a 3.0 L unit rated at 340 hp and costs ฿15,000 per day; the 718 Boxster uses a 2.0 L engine with 300 hp at ฿16,000 per day. Both fold their roofs, both put the driven axle at the back, and neither has a rear bench. The Z4 M40i has 40 hp more than the Boxster and costs ฿1,000 a day less. Bear in mind that a two-seat layout means no rear bench, so plan luggage around the boot; the folding roof is also the reason these two suit coastal roads better than a fixed-roof car.
Porsche 911 Carrera as the four-seat coupé
The Porsche 911 Carrera is the only four-seat car here, a coupé with a 3.0 L petrol engine, 385 hp, an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. At ฿34,900 per day it sits well above the two convertibles, and it is the most powerful car on this page.

Pick by seats first, then by price — the 911 Carrera costs more than twice the Z4 M40i, so the choice is usually about how many people travel. If you are two, the convertibles cover the same roads for less; if four of you want one car, only the coupé will do. A manager confirms which model is free for your dates when the booking is agreed.

Every car leaves clean with a full tank, and the compulsory motor insurance (Por Ror Bor) is attached to the registered vehicle by Thai law. First-class insurance, which covers damage to the car itself, is a separate matter — its terms and the excess are set out in the rental agreement, not in the daily rate. The same applies to the security hold: a bank card in the main driver's name is used for it, and the amount is set out in the agreement. The minimum driver age is 21, and the conditions for drivers under 25 and for premium classes are also set out in the agreement. The three cars stand in Bangkok: we deliver to any address in the city and to Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang. Delivery elsewhere is arranged case by case and is not promised on the site. Choose an address where a driver can actually stop — a hotel forecourt or a covered car park beats a busy kerb. A delivery fee, if any, is agreed when booking.
Driving rules and paperwork for sports car rental in Thailand
Driving a sports car rental in Thailand means driving a right-hand-drive car on the left — the mirror image of what most visitors are used to. The paperwork is straightforward, but the International Driving Permit is easy to forget.
Documents you need for sports car rental in Thailand

Left-hand traffic and right-hand drive
Every car in our fleet is right-hand drive, and traffic keeps to the left — the single biggest adjustment for a visitor.
Fines, cameras and what happens if you are stopped
The fine for driving without the permit is ฿500–1,000. An insurer may also refuse a claim if the permit was missing. Speed cameras on Motorway 7 issue fines to the car owner — that is us — and we re-invoice them to the renter. If you are stopped, keep the passport, licence and permit together in the glovebox — a checkpoint takes minutes when the documents are ready, and far longer when they are in a suitcase at the hotel.
Children and seat belts
Children under six must travel in a TISI-standard child seat, and passengers shorter than 135 cm need a seat or a proper belt position — the fine runs to ฿2,000 under the 13th amendment to the Land Traffic Act 1979. Every passenger, including those in the rear, must be belted. The Porsche 911 Carrera is the only four-seat car on this page, and its two rear positions are the practical choice for a child seat.
The agreement you sign
Since 30 December 2025 a car rental agreement in Thailand is a contract controlled by the OCPB: it is written in Thai, and every fee and penalty is disclosed in it. Read the excess and the security-hold amount there before you drive away — both are set out in the rental agreement, not quoted at the roadside.
Insurance and the rental agreement for sports car rental in Thailand
Every sports car we hand over carries compulsory motor insurance, known locally as Por Ror Bor. It is attached to the registered car, not to the driver, and it covers injury to third parties. Damage to the car itself is a separate matter, handled by first-class (Class 1) insurance; its terms and the excess are set out in the rental agreement rather than in this text.

- VAT: 7% is already inside the prices shown, so the daily rate is the number you compare.
Documents at hand-over
- Passport: the main driver's own passport.
- Home driving licence: valid, and for visitors from outside ASEAN, accompanied by an International Driving Permit issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention.
- ASEAN licences: citizens of ASEAN countries may drive on their national licence without an IDP.
- Bank card: in the main driver's name, for the security hold described above.
The minimum driver age is 21. Conditions for drivers under 25 and for premium classes are set out in the rental agreement, and the same document governs the security hold, the excess and any penalties. Read the Class 1 clause before you drive away, not after, because that clause is what decides who pays for a kerbed alloy on a rear-wheel-drive car. If anything in the contract is unclear, ask before the hand-over is finished; it is agreed when booking how the agreement itself is handled.
