The cheapest car in the line starts at ฿1,050 a day, ฿6,300 a week and ฿22,050 a month, with VAT 7% already inside those figures. Both multipliers are fixed rather than tiered: a week is the daily rate × 6 and a month is the daily rate × 21, so the most expensive model at ฿2,140 a day comes to ฿12,840 for the week and ฿44,940 for the month. Because the arithmetic is fixed, a longer booking lowers the effective day rate without any separate discount scheme.

Driving in Thailand keeps to the left, and every Comfort car we hand over is right-hand drive. That single fact changes more about your first hour on Beach Road than any other rule on this page, so read the document list before you book rather than after you land.
What you need to bring to the hand-over
- Home driving licence: valid, in the main driver's name, and carried with you while driving.
- International Driving Permit: the 1949 Geneva Convention booklet, required alongside your national licence for visitors from outside ASEAN; citizens of ASEAN countries drive on their national licence without one.

Speed limits and fines you may meet on a Pattaya run
Pattaya City is named a built-up area in law, so the limit here is 80 km/h, rising to 90 km/h outside built-up zones and 120 km/h on Motorway 7. Signs can lower any of those figures, and the fine for speeding runs to ฿1,000, usually settled at ฿500 on the receipt. Speed cameras on Motorway 7 enforce the 120 km/h limit primarily by camera, and a camera fine is issued to the car owner — that is, to the rental company — then re-invoiced to the renter. Driving without a valid permit carries a police fine of ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim, which is the expensive version of that mistake.
Insurance, alcohol and the agreement itself
Compulsory motor insurance (Por Ror Bor) covers injury to third parties and is attached to every registered car; first-class (Class 1) insurance covers damage to the car, and its terms and the excess are set out in the rental agreement. The drink-drive threshold is 20 mg/dl for drivers under 20, holders of temporary licences, drivers without a licence or with the wrong category; treat any drink as a reason not to drive. Since 30 December 2025 a car rental agreement is a contract controlled by the OCPB: it is written in Thai, and all fees and penalties are disclosed in it. Minimum driver age is 21, and conditions for drivers under 25 are set out in the agreement. Children under six must ride in a TISI-standard child seat, and everyone in the car wears a seatbelt, including the rear row.
Insurance and the rental agreement behind Comfort car rental in Pattaya
Every Comfort car we hand over carries compulsory motor insurance, known in Thailand as Por Ror Bor, and first-class cover against damage to the car itself. The agreement you sign with us is a contract controlled by the OCPB since 30 December 2025: it is written in Thai, and every fee and penalty is disclosed in it before you drive away.
What Por Ror Bor and first-class insurance actually cover
Por Ror Bor is attached to every registered car in Thailand and covers injury to third parties — it travels with the vehicle, not with the driver, so it applies to your Comfort booking whether you are behind the wheel or not. First-class cover, by contrast, deals with damage to the car itself. What exactly Class 1 covers, and the excess you carry if the car comes back damaged, are set out in the agreement rather than promised here.
Documents, the security hold and who may drive
- Home driving licence: a foreign visitor needs the licence issued in their own country, valid and legible.
- International Driving Permit: the 1949 Geneva Convention permit is required alongside it under section 42 bis of the Motor Vehicle Act; ASEAN nationals may drive on their national licence instead.
- Bank card: a bank card in the main driver's name is used for the security hold — the amount is set out in the agreement.
- Minimum age: the minimum driver age is 21; conditions for drivers under 25 and for premium classes are set out in the agreement.
Driving without a valid permit is not a technicality in Thailand. The police fine for it runs ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim arising from that trip — which turns a minor traffic stop into an uninsured repair on a car you do not own. Keep both documents in the car while you have it.
Fines, penalties and what is agreed when booking
Traffic-camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter, so a camera flash on Motorway 7 reaches you through us rather than straight from the authorities. The deposit amount, the excess figure and delivery fees are not quoted on this page: they are set out in the agreement, and the delivery address, date and time are agreed with a manager when booking. Driving a Comfort rental car around Pattaya and beyond
Driving here means one thing before anything else: traffic keeps to the left and every car in our Comfort line is right-hand drive.
The city itself is compact. Beach Road and Second Road run one-way anticlockwise as a pair, so a missed turn costs you a loop rather than a U-turn, and Central Pattaya, Terminal 21 and Walking Street sit within a few minutes of each other. Speed limits are the part people get wrong: 80 km/h in built-up areas — Pattaya City is named as a built-up area in the 1969 law — 90 km/h outside them and 120 km/h on Motorway 7, with signs able to lower the limit further. The fine runs up to ฿1,000, usually ฿500 on the receipt. On Motorway 7 the 120 km/h limit is enforced primarily by speed cameras, and a camera fine is issued to the car owner — us — and re-invoiced to the renter.
For anything outside the centre, here is what a Comfort car realistically covers:
- Jomtien and Na Jomtien: 11 and 13 minutes by road from the centre.
- Koh Larn: 7.5 km offshore, passenger ferries only — the car stays at Bali Hai Pier, so a ฿1,050 hatchback is all you need for the pier run.
- Bangkok: 145.7 km by road, roughly 102 minutes without traffic, via Motorway 7.
Two things worth knowing before you set off. First, the Motorway 7 toll between Bangkok and Pattaya runs ฿105–฿130 for a car, cash on the left lanes or M-PASS/Easy Pass on the blue ones — and for a hire car, cash is the simpler choice. Second, fuel is priced per litre at the pump: gasohol 95 at ฿39.94, gasohol 91 at ฿39.57, E20 at ฿34.94, E85 at ฿30.88, diesel B7 at ฿41.44, diesel B20 at ฿36.44, premium 98 at ฿49.29 and premium diesel at ฿50.05.

A Comfort booking is fixed only after a manager confirms the address, the date and the time — so the last thing to do before you say yes is run through the paperwork, the car itself and the return arrangement.
