The cheapest automatic hybrid is the Toyota Yaris Hybrid at €30 per day — worth knowing if you do not drive manual. Weekly bookings follow the daily rate multiplied by six, monthly by twenty-one: the Toyota Yaris Hybrid is €180 a week and €630 a month, the Crossover class from €252 a week.

Hybrid cars with 5 seats

Most of our hybrid cars seat 5 — from the Fiat Panda at €24 per day to the Toyota RAV4 at €65 per day. The 5-seat group splits by body shape rather than by seat count: hatchbacks (Fiat Panda, Toyota Yaris Hybrid, Toyota Corolla, Mercedes-Benz A-Class), Crossovers (Fiat 600, Ford Puma, Toyota Yaris Cross, Toyota C-HR, Renault Arkana) and SUVs (Nissan Qashqai, Ford Kuga, Peugeot 3008, Renault Austral, Toyota RAV4, Volvo XC60). A 5-seat hybrid starts at €24 daily, which is €144 weekly and €504 monthly.

The 7-seat hybrid option

The Land Rover Defender 110 is our only 7-seat hybrid, at €370 per day — €2,220 weekly and €7,770 monthly. It is a Luxury-class SUV with all-wheel drive, a 3.0 L engine and 400 hp, automatic transmission, and it sits at the top of our price range. The Defender's third row is the difference between a group of seven travelling together and a group of seven splitting into two vehicles — check the boot with all seven seats up before you commit, because that is where the luggage question is decided.

What to check before you book a family hybrid

• Transmission: 15 of the 20 hybrids are automatic; the Fiat 500, Fiat Panda, Ford Puma, Nissan Qashqai and Fiat 500C are manual — worth knowing if only one of you drives.
• Fuel: the car comes with a full tank and is returned with a full tank; the missing fuel and the refuelling fee are set out in the rental agreement.

Renting a hybrid car in Costa Brava for longer stays

Longer bookings change both the arithmetic and the car you want. A week at the daily rate is charged as six days, a month as twenty-one, so the effective cost per day drops the further out you plan.

How weekly and monthly hybrid rates work

Every car on this page follows the same rule: weekly = daily x 6, monthly = daily x 21. The Land Rover Defender 110 at €370 per day comes to €2,220 for a week and €7,770 for a month. The Toyota Yaris Hybrid at €30 per day works out at €180 weekly and €630 monthly. The Fiat Panda and Fiat 500, both at €24 per day, are the cheapest way into a long booking — €144 weekly, €504 monthly. The Toyota Corolla at €42 per day sits at €252 weekly and €882 monthly, which is a comfortable automatic for a fortnight. Every car here is a hybrid, so the same multiplier applies whether you take a manual Fiat Panda or an automatic Toyota C-HR. Tell the manager your full planned dates at the start.

Which hybrid suits a two-week or month-long stay

• Luxury at €200–€370 per day: the Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53 and Land Rover Defender 110 — the Defender is the only 7-seat hybrid here.

Fuel, parking and the practical side of a long booking

Over a month, fuel stops add up. Petrol 95 E5 averages €1.94 per litre across the province of Girona and €1.956 along the coast, with 58 filling stations on the coastal strip and 250 across the province. Parking is the other recurring cost: Girona's zona blava runs at €1.20 per hour with a two-hour maximum, Monday to Saturday in two windows, 9:30–13:00 and 16:00–20:00. In Lloret de Mar the Can Lloranes car park charges around €15 per day from 23 June to 11 September and is free outside that window, while the Avinguda Alegries park-and-ride is free for stays over 12 hours and includes a bus ticket into the centre. If your stay crosses into Girona, note the Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona, in force since 15.09.2025, which restricts cars without a DGT environmental badge on working weekdays between 7:00 and 20:00 — Spanish rental fleets carry the badge, so a car from Rent-Trip is not affected. We hand the car over with a full tank and ask for it back full; anything else is charged as set out in the rental agreement.

Driving a hybrid rental car in Costa Brava

What full-to-full means on a hybrid

• Return: bring it back full — in Spain the policy is lleno-lleno, full-to-full.
• If the tank is short: the missing fuel and a refuelling service fee are charged as set out in the rental agreement.
• No other option: a pre-paid tank or full-to-empty is not offered on the site, so plan one fuel stop before hand-over.
• Fuel prices: petrol 95 E5 averages €1.94 per litre across the province of Girona, with 250 filling stations to choose from.

Motorways, tolls and the low-emission zone

The AP-7 corridor from Barcelona through Girona to the French border has been toll-free since 01.09.2021, and the C-32 Maresme and C-33 are free too — the paid barriers left in Catalonia sit on the C-16 and the southern C-32 towards Sitges, nowhere near our routes.

Girona runs a Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona, in force since 15.09.2025, covering the area from la Devesa park to c. d'Emili Grahit and from c. del Riu Güell to c. del Carme and the Barri Vell. It applies 7–20 on working weekdays to cars without a DGT environmental badge that are not registered in Girona; cameras read plates, and the sticker itself need not be displayed. Spanish fleets carry the DGT badge, so a hybrid from us is not restricted — but if you drive your own car into the old town on a weekday morning, check the badge first.

Parking in the towns

Zona blava in Girona runs Monday to Saturday, 9:30–13 and 16–20, though Sant Narcís keeps different hours. Our advice: park at the Alegries park-and-ride in Lloret and take the free bus in.

Parking at the coast

• Lloret de Mar, Can Lloranes: 160 spaces, roughly €15 per day from 23 June to 11 September, free the rest of the time.
• Lloret de Mar, Avinguda Alegries: 200 spaces, free for stays over 12 hours, with a free bus ticket into the centre, running 15 June–15 September.
• Girona, zona blava: Monday to Saturday in working hours, 9:30–13 and 16–20, at €1.20 per hour, capped at 2 hours (€2.40).
• Girona, zona verda: the same €1.20 per hour and 2-hour cap; hours differ between Pedreres–Vista Alegre and Güell–Devesa.

The coast car parks in Lloret charge by the day in season, so it is worth deciding which one you are using before you set off.

• Date and time: the day you land or arrive, and the hour you want the car in your hands — the manager builds the delivery slot around it.
• Length of rental: daily, weekly or monthly. Weekly is charged at the daily rate × 6, monthly at the daily rate × 21.

What happens after you send the details

Deposit, insurance excess, delivery fees and any discount are set out in the rental agreement — we do not quote them over the counter or invent them in a message.

The car arrives clean and with a full tank, and it goes back with a full tank — full-to-full, lleno-lleno in Spain. Any missing fuel and the refuelling service fee are charged as set out in the rental agreement.

Documents and driving in Costa Brava

Licences from the EU and EEA are valid in Spain until they expire, and no international driving permit is needed. Drivers from outside the EU and EEA are advised by the DGT to carry an international driving permit alongside their passport and national licence; six months after you take up residence in Spain, a third-country licence stops being valid.

Minimum rental age, the young-driver surcharge, the cards accepted and the territory you may drive in are agreed when booking — they are not fixed figures on this page, so ask the manager and get the answer for your own case before the booking is fixed.
