Longer bookings are therefore predictable: take the day rate of the model you want and multiply it, and the figure you get is what the agreement is built on.

We price by the day, and the day rate of a model is the number every longer booking is built from. A weekly booking is counted as the daily rate × 6, so the cheapest Economy car at €13 a day comes to €78 for the week. A monthly booking is counted as the daily rate × 21, which puts the same car at €273 for the month. The class you pick sets the day rate, and the day rate sets the rest.

For a family staying a fortnight in Ruzafa, a five-seat Economy car at €16 a day works out at €96 a week and €336 a month on the same arithmetic. An Electric model pulls the day rate up but not the multiplier: the Renault 5 E-Tech at €25 a day is €150 a week and €525 a month. The daily rate of the model you actually want, times six, is the number to budget from.

What is set out in the rental agreement

• Deposit: the amount, and whether any sum is blocked on a card at all, is set out in the rental agreement, not quoted as a figure on this page.

The cheapest Economy models at €13–€16 a day

Ford Fiesta and Nissan Micra open the class at €13 a day, both 5-seat Petrol Manual with a 1.0 L engine, front-wheel drive and 100 hp and 92 hp respectively. Kia Picanto and Toyota Aygo sit at 4 seats, which is the practical dividing line for a family with luggage.

Mid and top Economy at €17–€22 a day

Fiat Panda, Hyundai i10 and Fiat 500 cover €17–€18, all 4- or 5-seat Petrol Manual hatchbacks around 70 hp. From €19 the class moves up in size and output: Seat Ibiza at €19 with 95 hp, then Hyundai i20, Opel Corsa, Renault Clio, Skoda Fabia and Volkswagen Polo all at €20 with 90–100 hp, and Peugeot 208 at €22 with a 1.2 L engine and 100 hp. Driving a no-deposit rental car in the city

Valencia sits on the Mediterranean coast and drives on the right, left-hand drive, like the rest of mainland Spain. Speed limits are the national ones: 120 km/h on autopista and autovía, 90 km/h on a conventional road, 30 km/h on a city street with one lane in each direction, and 50 km/h where there are two or more lanes each way. The city has its own low-emission zone, ZBE València, and it changes what a visitor needs to know before turning a wheel.

What the low-emission zone means for a rental car

ZBE València covers 27.8 km² inside the ring formed by Ronda Nord, avenidas de Tarongers and Serradora, and Bulevard Sud. Through 31 December 2026 only cars without a DGT sticker that are registered outside the province of Valencia are restricted; from 1 January 2027 that widens to cars without a sticker registered outside the city, and from 1 January 2028 it takes in every category A car, residents included. Category A means petrol registered before 2001 and diesel before 2006. Cars carrying Spanish plates and a DGT sticker — B, C, ECO or 0 — fall outside the restriction, because only category A is limited.

Parking and the roads out of the city

• Zona azul in the centre: Ciutat Vella, L'Eixample and Extramurs, two hours maximum, €1.00 for 60 minutes and €1.70 for 120.
• Zona azul elsewhere: the same two-hour cap at €0.80 for 60 minutes and €1.50 for 120.
• Zona naranja: mixed resident and rotation parking, €2.10 for 60 minutes for non-residents during rotation hours.
• Blue-zone hours: Monday to Saturday, 09:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00.
