Wedding car classes and prices for renting a vehicle in Costa Brava

Prices on this page run from €50 to €370 per day, and the class you pick decides both the rate and how the car reads in photographs. Every one of the 24 cars sits in one of three groups: Premium, Convertibles and Luxury. The daily figure is the base for every longer booking — a week is the daily rate times six, a month is the daily rate times twenty-one.

Prices by class and by model

The cheapest car here is the Audi A1 Sportback at €50 per day — a five-seat petrol hatchback with an automatic gearbox and 110 hp. At the other end sit the BMW X7 and the Land Rover Defender 110, both seven-seaters at €370 per day. Between them the ladder climbs steadily: €55 for the BMW 1 Series and Mini Countryman, €60 for the Audi A3 Sportback, €65 for the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz A-Class, €70 for the BMW X2 and Fiat 500C, €75 for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, €80 for the Audi A4, €82 for the Mini Cooper Cabrio, €85 for the Volvo XC60, €90 for the Jaguar F-Pace, €95 for the Audi Q5, €180 for the BMW 4 Series Cabrio, €200 for the Range Rover Sport, €210 for the Range Rover Evoque Convertible, €220 for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet, €250 for the AMG E 53 Cabriolet, €345 for the Porsche Cayenne, €350 for the Ford Mustang GT Convertible and €355 for the AMG GLE 53. The step from Premium into Luxury is roughly four times the daily rate.

Weekly and monthly wedding bookings

A weekly booking starts from €300 and a monthly booking from €1,050 — the daily rate multiplied by six and by twenty-one respectively. Tell the manager the collection and return dates when you book, and the length of the hire is fixed with the car.

Where the money actually goes

Petrol, diesel and hybrid cars all appear in the fleet, and the fuel type barely moves the price — the Mini Countryman runs on diesel at €55 per day, the hybrid Mercedes-Benz A-Class costs €65, and the petrol Audi A3 Sportback sits at €60. Ask the manager which cars are free for your dates before you settle on a class.

Choosing a car for renting a vehicle for a wedding in Costa Brava

A wedding car does three jobs on the same day: it carries the couple to the ceremony, it stands in the photographs, and it moves guests between the ceremony and the reception. On this page we have 24 cars for that, and the class you pick decides the first two jobs far more than the engine does.

The ceremony car and the photo car

The Fiat 500C is a four-seat hybrid with a manual gearbox and 70 hp; the Mini Cooper Cabrio is a four-seat petrol automatic at €82/day; the BMW 4 Series Cabrio runs a 2.0 L 245 hp petrol automatic with rear-wheel drive at €180/day. A convertible seats four, so it works for the couple alone but not for a bridal party of five.

Cars for guests and for a group of seven

• Seven seats: BMW X7 and Land Rover Defender 110 both seat seven at €370/day, both automatic and all-wheel drive.
• Five seats: the Premium SUVs — BMW X1, BMW X2, Volvo XC60, Jaguar F-Pace, Audi Q5 — seat five from €65/day.
• Four seats: every convertible in the fleet seats four, which rules them out as a guest shuttle.
• Two cars instead of one: booking two five-seat cars is often easier than one seven-seater, because guests arrive and leave at different times.

Fuel and transmission for the wedding route

The fleet runs on Diesel, Hybrid and Petrol, with Automatic on almost every car and Manual only on the Fiat 500C. Diesel covers the Mini Countryman, BMW X1, BMW X2, Audi A4, Jaguar F-Pace and Audi Q5, while the hybrids are the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Volvo XC60, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53 and Land Rover Defender 110. Petrol covers the rest, among them every convertible except the hybrid Fiat 500C.

Booking a wedding car with a manager

• Enquiry: you tell us the wedding date, the venue and how many cars you need — one for the couple, two or three for guests.
• Delivery point: the address is agreed with a manager — a venue, a hotel or an airport, including Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) and Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN).

Our fleet carries the distintivo ambiental DGT, so the Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona, active since 15.09.2025 between 7:00 and 20:00 Monday to Friday on working days, does not stop a wedding car from reaching the centre.

Documents and cover for the driver

• Licence: an EU/EEA licence is valid in Spain until it expires; a non-EU licence is accepted, and the DGT recommends carrying an International Driving Permit alongside your passport and national licence.
• Insurance: the Seguro Obligatorio de Responsabilidad Civil is included in every booking by Spanish law, with limits of 70 million EUR per incident for personal injury and 15 million EUR for property damage.
• Damage cover: CDW and theft protection are options that reduce your liability down to the excess printed in the agreement.
• Age and card: the minimum rental age, the young-driver surcharge and the card accepted for the deposit are agreed when booking.

Why the delivery address matters more than the car

This coast is a region, not a city, and a wedding here usually means moving between places rather than staying in one. GRO sits 34.6 km from Lloret de Mar and 75.2 km from Roses; the drive from Barcelona-El Prat (BCN) to Lloret runs 89.6 km, about 75 minutes without traffic. Name the venue, the hotel or the villa when you book — that is the address we deliver to.

Timing the hand-over around the ceremony

Hand-over is agreed for a specific date and time, and the practical question is what the car is doing in the hours around the ceremony.

• Two cars, split roles: a convertible for the couple and a five-seat SUV for the bridal party, both delivered to the same address at the same time.
• Guest shuttle by car: two five-seat cars rather than one seven-seater, because guests arrive and leave at different times and a single big car ends up waiting.

The route between the venues

Between June and September the coast fills up: August alone recorded 2,451,279 hotel nights against 242,712 in January, and 67.6% of those August guests were foreign visitors.

What the driver needs to bring

• EU/EEA licence: valid in Spain until its expiry date, with nothing extra required — no international permit needed.
• Non-EU licence: DGT advises getting an international driving permit before you travel and carrying it together with your passport and your national licence.
• Licence not in Spanish: valid either with an official certified translation into Spanish, or if it was issued on the Appendix 9 Geneva or Appendix 6 Vienna model.
• Card: which card is accepted for the deposit is agreed when booking.
• International driving permit: a supporting document only, shown together with your passport and national licence, valid one year.

Insurance that is already in the price

Third-party liability cover is compulsory under Spanish law and is included in any booking — it applies even if the car was driven by someone not named in the agreement, and it covers injury and property damage caused to others, not the driver and not the car itself. The statutory limits are 70 million EUR per incident for personal injury, however many people are hurt, and 15 million EUR per incident for property damage.

Checking the car before you drive off

Spanish consumer rules require every scratch and dent to be written into the agreement or the inspection sheet before you leave, signed by both sides, with a copy kept by the renter — otherwise the damage comes back to you. If the model you booked is not available, you are entitled to another car at no extra charge, even a higher class; if you are given a lower class, the price must come down. And if the car does not meet the agreed terms, the booking can be cancelled and the prepayment refunded. That inspection sheet is the one piece of paper worth photographing on the day.

Driving rules and costs for renting a vehicle in Costa Brava

The rules below matter most in the days around a wedding, when you are shuttling between a venue, a hotel and a seafront photo stop.

Speed limits and the roads you will actually use

• Autopista and autovía (AP-7, A-2, C-32, C-33): 120 km/h. This is the motorway network that links the airport, the coast and the inland venues.
• Carretera convencional (GI-614, GI-682, C-260): 90 km/h.
• Built-up areas: 50 km/h on streets with two or more lanes in one direction, 30 km/h with one lane each way, 20 km/h on single-platform streets.
• Alcohol: 0.25 mg/l of breath for experienced drivers, 0.15 mg/l for drivers in their first two years.
• Phone in hand: €200 and 3–6 points; holding the phone means the full 6 points.
• Seat belts and child seats: €200 and 4 points. Child restraints are required for children under 135 cm.

Tolls, fuel and what the week costs

The AP-7 corridor from Barcelona through Girona to the French border has been toll-free since 01.09.2021, and the C-32 Maresme barriers came down the same night — so a wedding-week loop along the coast adds nothing in tolls. Petrol 95 E5 averaged €1.94 per litre across the province of Girona, with diesel at €1.922; on the coast the two sit at €1.956 and €1.932.

Parking on the day itself

• Girona, zona blava: €1.20 per hour, maximum 2 hours (€2.40), Monday to Saturday, 9:30–13:00 and 16:00–20:00.
• Girona, zona verda (non-residents): €1.20 per hour, maximum 2 hours, with different hours by district.
• Lloret de Mar, Can Lloranes: 160 spaces, around €15 per day from 23 June to 11 September, free outside that window.
• Lloret de Mar, Avinguda Alegries park-and-ride: 200 spaces, free for stays over 12 hours, with a free bus ticket into the centre from 15 June to 15 September.

One thing worth knowing: Girona's Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona has been in force since 15.09.2025, covering the area from la Devesa park to c. d'Emili Grahit and from c. del Riu Güell to c. del Carme and Barri Vell, 7:00–20:00 Monday to Friday on working days. Cars without a DGT environmental badge that are not registered in Girona are the ones restricted, with 24 days a year of allowance inside the restricted hours. Spanish rental fleets carry the DGT badge, so a car from our fleet has no restriction there — but if you drive your own vehicle into the old town on a weekday morning, check the badge before you park.
