Seat Ibiza for a week at €19 a day. Picked up at Valencia airport and drove to the beaches of Cullera and Gandia. Clean car, clear contract and no queue at the handover.

Toyota Corolla for five days at €45 a day, €225 in total. We stayed in Ruzafa and did day trips to Albufera and El Saler. Helpful staff and a spotless car.

Volkswagen Multivan for the family at €76 a day. Seven of us with luggage from Valencia airport to Denia and Javea. Plenty of space, and the sliding doors made the beach days easy.

Fiat 500 at €18 a day for three days, €54 total. Fun around Valencia centre, but parking near the old town is hard and I wish I had been warned. The car itself was fine.

Peugeot 3008 for four days at €46 a day, €184 in total. A trip to the Requena and Utiel wineries, then Chulilla. Smooth handover at Joaquín Sorolla station.

Tesla Model 3 at €44 a day for five days. Charged near the City of Arts and Sciences and drove to Sagunto and Peñíscola. The handover included a clear explanation of charging.

Ford Mustang Convertible for two days at €336 a day. The coast road towards El Saler with the roof down, and the car was immaculate. Worth it for a birthday.

Kia Sportage at €44 a day for a week. Solid car for Xàtiva and the inland roads. The only issue was a slow reply on a Sunday evening when I asked to extend. Sorted by Monday morning.

Renault Clio for three days at €20 a day, €60 in total. Easy to park near Malvarrosa beach and cheap to run. Friendly handover and a car that matched the booking.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class for a group of seven at Feria Valencia, €109 a day. Picked up on the first morning of the fair and returned on the last, with no fuss at all.

Toyota Yaris for a week at €15 a day. The best value car I have rented in Spain. We drove from Valencia centre to Benidorm and back without any problem.

Volkswagen Golf for four days at €45 a day, €180 total. Collected at the cruise port and drove inland to Chulilla. Quick, polite and clear about the rules for the old town.

Nissan Qashqai at €44 a day for five days in Ruzafa. Good car, but the screen was set to Spanish and it took me a while to change it. The staff sorted it out on the phone.

Dacia Sandero for ten days at €16 a day. A simple, honest car. We drove to the castle in Xàtiva and down the coast to Gandia with no issues at all.

BMW 5 Series for a business week at €69 a day. Collected in Valencia centre, clean, quiet and ready on time. The invoice had all the details my company needed.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet for one day at €576. We drove the coast south of El Saler and on to Cullera. Unforgettable, and the handover was handled with a lot of care.

Citroen Berlingo at €45 a day for three days, €135 in total. Practical for bikes and beach gear at Malvarrosa, but the air conditioning was weak in July. Otherwise good.

Jeep Renegade for a week at €34 a day. We drove to Requena for the wineries and to Chulilla for the hiking trails. Great value and a clean car.

Hyundai i20 for five days at €20 a day, €100 total. We stayed in Ruzafa and drove to Albufera for the sunset boat trips. Fast handover and no pressure to buy extras.

Audi Q5 for four days at €78 a day, €312 in total. Comfortable for the drive to the castle in Peñíscola. Everything was explained clearly before we left Valencia airport.
