The 500e is the only electric car on this page, and it is also the model that changes how the trip is planned. The ZBE València rules, meanwhile, are decided by the environmental sticker on the windscreen rather than by what is under the bonnet.

Renting the Fiat 500e

The Fiat 500e is the only electric car on this page at €22 per day, with 118 hp, an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. It seats four, which makes it a two-adult car with luggage or a four-person city runabout, and at €22 it sits between the petrol 500 and the 500C. There is no engine size to quote here — the drivetrain is electric, so the usual 1.0 L and 70 hp figures that describe the petrol 500 do not apply.

Does the ZBE València affect a rental Fiat

Cars carrying a DGT sticker — B, C, ECO or 0 — fall outside the category-A restriction of ZBE València, because the zone limits only vehicles without a sticker. The sticker is issued by DGT and is fixed to the windscreen; the model itself does not decide access. The zone covers 27.8 km² inside Ronda Nord, the avenidas de Tarongers and Serradora, and Bulevard Sud, and it runs around the clock, 365 days a year. Check the sticker on the windscreen before you drive into the centre — that one glance settles the question.

What the 500e changes about the budget

At €22 per day the 500e costs €5 more than the Panda, but it removes petrol from the daily maths altogether — no Gasolina 95 at an average of €1.978 per litre. For a month the entry figures are €357 for the Panda and €462 for the 500e. If your driving is city-bound and short, the electric option is the one to price first.

• Zona azul (blue): paid kerbside parking in Ciutat Vella, L'Eixample and Extramurs, capped at 2 hours and priced at €1.00 for 60 minutes, €1.70 for 120 minutes, in 5-minute steps.
• Zona azul in outer districts: the same 2-hour cap for €0.80 an hour and €1.50 for the full two.
• Zona naranja (orange): mixed resident and rotation parking; non-residents pay €2.10 for the first hour and €3.30 for two, and only during rotation hours.
• Zona verde (green): residents with a permit only — 86.20 EUR for 12 months, charged pro rata by the month.
• Payment: ElParking (operated by EYSA) and Telpark handle the meter for the blue and orange zones.

Tolls, radars and fines

The AP-7 (Autopista del Mediterráneo) between Salou and Alicante has been toll-free since 01.01.2020, when the Aumar concession ended and 373.8 km were released, so a Fiat running to Dénia, Calp, Benidorm or Peñíscola pays no péage. Inside the city, the V-21 access road and the V-30 urban expressway carry fixed speed cameras. An ORA ticket can be cancelled for €4.00 («Anulación Denuncia»). The orange-zone rotation hours differ by district, from 9:00–20:00 in Ciutat Vella to 9:00–19:00 in Ruzafa, El Botànic and La Roqueta, with 9:00–15:00 everywhere on Saturdays.
