If you are going on a long trip out of town, for example to Şile or Sapanca, the manual option can ease the budget, but if you will make many stops within the city during the day, the extra cost for automatic pays back as comfort.

Toyota Yaris Hybrid: the only hybrid option

The Toyota Yaris is the only hybrid model in our hatchback list: 1.5 L engine, 116 hp, and automatic transmission at 1,900 TL/day. In Turkey, bridge and highway crossings are paid via the HGS system; your vehicle has an HGS tag, and tolls are collected through this tag. According to current rates, the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge is 110 TL, the Eurasia Tunnel is 280 TL during the day and 140 TL at night, and the Osmangazi Bridge is 1,170 TL. If unpaid crossings ("violation crossings") are not paid on time, a fine of four times the toll is applied — so we recommend including bridge crossings in your budget for out-of-town routes.
