The weekly figure is the daily rate multiplied by six, and the monthly figure is the daily rate multiplied by twenty-one. Anything else that applies to your dates is set out in the rental agreement. On a month of the Mazda 3 the arithmetic works out at $819, which is what the table shows.
What is agreed when you book
The delivery address, the date and the time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed. That conversation is also where you settle everything the rate does not cover: the deposit, the insurance excess, any delivery fee and any discount are set out in the rental agreement, and they are confirmed with you at that point rather than assumed. Which documents you need to bring is agreed in the same step, along with the age and experience conditions that apply to your booking. The car is delivered to the address you give, so the hand-over happens where you are staying.
Booking further ahead than a week
- Weekly bookings: the daily rate is multiplied by six, so a seven-day hire on the Mazda 6 comes to $234.
- Monthly bookings: the daily rate is multiplied by twenty-one, which puts a month of the Ford Explorer at $1,365.
- Long stays in the city: if your trip runs past a month, ask the manager to price the whole period in one go instead of stacking two separate bookings.
- Fixed dates: confirm the return date and time when you book, because the rate is calculated on the agreed period.
The cheapest way to hold a Comfort car for a long stay is to book the full period at once. Every model on this page runs on petrol with an automatic gearbox and five seats, and the multipliers above apply to all three, so the monthly rate is the one to compare against the daily figure.

Driving a Comfort rental car in Georgia
Georgia drives on the right, and every Comfort car we hand over is automatic and petrol, so the first hour behind the wheel is about reading the road rather than the gearbox. Speed limits are straightforward: 60 km/h in built-up areas, 20 km/h in residential zones, 90 km/h outside built-up areas for category B, 110 km/h on motorways, and 80 km/h with a light trailer. The upper sections of the Georgian Military Road — the S3 through Zhinvali, Ananuri, Pasanauri and Gudauri to Stepantsminda — close when avalanche risk is high, and the Jvari Pass tops out at 2,379 m. Check the road status the morning you leave, not the evening before.
At the last recorded pump prices, petrol stood at 4.06 ₾ a litre and diesel at 4.76 ₾ — diesel runs roughly 17% dearer. Georgia's international and domestic roads are free of charge, and the Road Department confirmed as much on 10.06.2026: «use of Georgia's international and domestic roads remains free of charge», with no changes planned. There are no vignettes and no transponders to buy. The Rikoti pass on the east–west E60 opened on 29.12.2025 — 52 km, 51 tunnels, 97 bridges, four lanes — and it is free as well.
Around town, parking is zonal and paid. The first 15 minutes are free, then it costs from 1 ₾ an hour, paid through the Tbilisi Parking app or at terminals and parking machines. An unpaid parking session carries a 50 ₾ fine, and a towed car costs 150 ₾ for the tow plus 20 ₾ a day in the pound, so read the zone sign before you walk away.
A few rules worth knowing before you set off:
- Seat belts: the driver and all front passengers must wear them; rear belts are not required by law.
- Phones: hands-free or speaker only, both hands on the wheel.
- Children: under three, a child seat or restraint on the rear seat, sized by height and weight — and never leave a child under six alone in a parked car.
- Alcohol: the limit is 0.3 ‰ (0.03%). Speeding fines run 50 ₾ for 15–40 km/h over the limit and 150 ₾ above that.
Winter tyres are compulsory from 1 December to 1 March, and in government-designated zones chains on at least two front wheels may be required in bad weather. If your trip falls in that window, confirm the winter tyres when the booking is agreed.

Where all-wheel drive matters
The Military Highway towards Stepantsminda climbs through Zhinvali, Ananuri, Pasanauri and Gudauri to the Jvari Pass at 2,379 m, and the upper sections are exposed to landslides and snow, with closures when avalanche risk is high. Gudauri itself sits at 2,200 m by the pass, roughly two to two and a half hours from the capital, and the ski season runs from early December to mid-April. Winter tyres are compulsory from 1 December to 1 March, so a winter booking on this route needs the right rubber as well as the right car.

Renting a Comfort car in Tbilisi needs a passport and a valid driving licence — that is the paperwork side, and it is short. Everything else that people worry about, the deposit and the insurance excess, is agreed before the booking is fixed, not discovered at hand-over.
What drivers need to bring
- Driving licence: a current licence valid for the whole hire period; foreign licences are valid in Georgia for up to 1 year from the date of entry into the country, with no exchange required.
- IDP or notarised translation: needed only when the licence carries neither Latin nor Cyrillic script — Georgia is a party to the 1968 Vienna Convention.
- Deposit: agreed when booking, not published as a figure; the amount and how it is handled are set out in the rental agreement.
- Insurance excess: also set out in the rental agreement, together with any CDW or Super CDW option chosen at the time of booking.

Insurance and the car itself
Georgia has no compulsory third-party motor insurance for owners of Georgian-registered vehicles at the moment: the government put its introduction into the autumn legislative work plan, with no date named. The car you hire from us is Georgian-registered, so the compulsory foreign-vehicle insurance rules do not apply to it. Theft of personal belongings is not covered by standard cover, so keep bags out of sight when the car is parked on a street in Tbilisi overnight.
If you plan to cross a border
Azerbaijan's land border is closed to passengers, so a car crossing there is not an option. A self-drive car stays in Georgia; a trip to Armenia goes only with our driver and is agreed at booking.
