From €15 City 125s to 400 cc Maxi-Scooters: Prices, Licences and Pick-Up
Scooter rental in Valencia starts from €15 a day for an Urban Motors Urban D80, and the middle of the 27 models on this page sits at €25. Nine of them start at exactly €20. Below: how daily and monthly prices compare, why a quote for your dates can be double the starting figure, which licence covers which engine size, what deposits look like and where scooters are picked up across the city.
Day, week or month: how prices are built
Scooters in the city are rented in three overlapping ways: you ride yourself, you pay by the day, and for a longer stay you pay by the week or the month. There is no single price for the whole city. Each model has its own starting rate, and what you actually pay depends on the dates, the pick-up point and how long you keep the scooter.
What the day rate shows
Every price on the cards in this section is a starting figure per day, without dates. The 27 models start between €15 and €50, and the most common figure is €20 — nine models share it. The next cluster is €30, where six models start. Those two numbers describe the market well: a plain city 125 at about €20, a better-known brand or a larger body at about €30. A day rate is the price of one scooter, and most 125s seat two, so for a couple it is the cost of transport for both riders.
A quote for your dates is often higher
The starting rate is a floor, not a quote. When the same models were priced for specific dates, the figures moved a long way: the Honda Vision 110 went from €21.78 to €52.43 a day, the Yamaha XMAX 250 from €28.80 to €78.64, and the Honda Forza 350 from €43.39 to €82.83. Smaller gaps are just as common — the Peugeot Tweet 125 went from €20 to €25.16, and the Peugeot Django 125 from €20 to €28.47 for a pick-up at the airport. In other words, the dated price can be anything from a quarter more to well over double. Ask for a price with your exact days before you compare two scooters, and compare the totals rather than the headline rates.
Same model, different price
The same model does not cost the same everywhere in the city. A Wottan Storm 125 starts at €20 a day in Camí Fondo and in Albors, and at €25 in Vara de Quart. A 2026 Yamaha XMAX 125 was priced at €40 a day in the Cabanyal and Malvarrosa area, while a 2017 XMAX 125 in Benimaclet asked €42 — the older scooter was the dearer one. The district, the year and the owner's own pricing all play a part. That is why the figure on a card is a guide to the level, not a promise for every scooter of that name.
Weekly and monthly hire
Monthly scooter rental exists in Valencia, though fewer shops offer it than day hire. A SYM Symphony SR 125 is offered at €30 a day or €350 a month, with a €300 deposit. Spread over 30 days, €350 comes to about €11.67 a day — less than 40% of the same scooter's day rate. Against €30 a day, the monthly plan pays for itself from the 12th day. Even the cheapest day rate on this page, €15, adds up to €450 over 30 days, more than the monthly price of a 125. A week is a different story: seven days at the common €20 rate cost €140, and at the €15 floor €105, so for a holiday week the day rate remains the yardstick.
App-based shared scooters are a separate product. They are charged by the minute, at €0.29 a minute, and suit a single one-way trip. An hour at that rate is €17.40, which is already more than the cheapest full day on a hired 125, so sharing makes sense for short hops only.
| How you rent | Starting price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Shared, by the minute | €0.29 a minute; €17.40 for an hour | One short one-way trip |
| One day | €15–€50 across 27 models; €20 is the most common | Sightseeing, a day at the beach |
| One week | €105 at €15 a day; €140 at €20 a day | A holiday week |
| One month | €350 for a 125, with a €300 deposit | Residents and long stays |
27 models from €15 to €50 a day
The 27 models sit in a narrow band. Ten start at €20 or less, 14 at €25 or less, and only five go above €30. The middle of the range is €25, and the whole spread from the cheapest to the dearest scooter is €35.
Seven classes at a glance
| Class | Models | Day rate from | Middle of the class |
|---|---|---|---|
| City scooters, 110–125 cc | 13 | €15–€35 | €25 |
| Retro scooters, 125 cc | 3 | €20–€30 | €20 |
| Maxi-scooters, 125 cc | 2 | €22–€30 | €26 |
| Electric scooters, 125 class | 2 | €20 | €20 |
| Custom-style 125 | 1 | €31.14 | — |
| 50 cc moped | 1 | €23.12 | — |
| Over 125 cc, incl. one three-wheeler | 5 | €20–€50 | €43.39 |
City scooters make up almost half of the list, and the 125 class as a whole accounts for 21 of the 27 models. Everything above 125 cc is a small group of five.
The cheapest end
The Urban Motors Urban D80 is the floor at €15 a day and the only model below €20. Behind it, nine models start at exactly €20: the Piaggio Liberty 125, Peugeot Tweet 125, Peugeot Django 125, SYM Fiddle III 125, SYM Jet 14 125 and Wottan Storm 125, the electric SEAT MÓ 125 and Silence S01, and the three-wheeled Peugeot Metropolis 400. Then come the Honda Vision 110 at €21.78 and the Honda Forza 125 ABS at €22. That makes 12 models at €22 or less, and between them they cover city, retro, maxi, electric and three-wheel scooters — a cheap price here does not mean one type of scooter.
Price does not follow engine size
The card prices show that a bigger engine is not automatically dearer, and a smaller one is not automatically cheaper. The Peugeot Tweet 50, a 50 cc moped, starts at €23.12 — more than 11 of the 125s. The Yamaha XMAX 250 starts at €28.80, below the Yamaha XMAX 125 at €30 and well below the Yamaha NMAX 125 at €35. The 400 cc Metropolis shares the €20 floor with the plainest city scooters, although a quote for dates came back at €39.97 for it. Brand, styling and the individual offer move the price more than cubic centimetres do. So pick the class by your licence and your route first, and only then look for the cheapest model inside that class.
The top end
Above €35 there are only three models, all of them over 125 cc: the BMW C 400 X at €50, the Piaggio Beverly 300 at €45 and the Honda Forza 350 at €43.39. The BMW is the dearest scooter on the page at exactly twice the middle of the range. The dearest 125 is the Yamaha NMAX 125 at €35, so anyone riding on a car licence will find the whole of their choice between €15 and €35.
The 125 cc class and which licence covers it
The 125 cc class is the core of the market for visitors, for one practical reason: rental shops let a car licence cover it.
What rental shops ask for
Shops in Valencia rent 125 cc scooters on a category B car licence as well as on the motorcycle categories A1, A2 and A. The details differ from shop to shop. One asks for a minimum age of 21 and at least two years of holding the licence. Others ask for a category B licence held for three years or more on models such as the Honda Vision 110 and the Peugeot Tweet 125. That is why 125cc scooter rental is what most visitors end up booking: it is the largest class and the one a driving licence opens. Read the requirement attached to the model you choose, and if your licence is younger than three years, ask before you book rather than at the counter.
21 models in the 125 class
Counting the 110 cc Honda Vision and the two electric scooters that are rated in the 125 class, 21 models fall within it. They start between €15 and €35 a day, the middle of the class is €22, and nine of them start at €20 or less.

| SYM Symphony 125 SR | City scooter | €30 |
| Yamaha XMAX 125 | Maxi-scooter | €30 |

| Aprilia Compay 125 Custom | Custom-style | €31.14 |
| Yamaha NMAX 125 | City scooter | €35 |
City, retro or maxi inside the class
City scooters are the practical choice: upright, light enough to manoeuvre between parked cars and easy to leave at the kerb. The Peugeot Tweet 125 is a typical example — an automatic for two people with a 4.8-litre tank and disc brakes. Retro models, the Peugeot Django, the SYM Fiddle III and the Vespa Primavera, cost the same or a little more and are chosen mainly for looks; the Vespa is the dearest of the three at €30. The two maxi-scooters in the class, the Honda Forza 125 and the Yamaha XMAX 125, give a larger seat and more room for a passenger and a bag. The Forza 125 is the cheapest maxi on the page at €22 and costs less than seven of the 13 city scooters, which makes it the best-value pick for two people on a car licence.
Beyond 125 cc
Five models go above 125 cc: the Yamaha XMAX 250, Piaggio Beverly 300, Honda Forza 350, BMW C 400 X and Peugeot Metropolis 400. For these, shops ask for an A2 or A motorcycle licence, and a car licence is not enough. The three-wheeled Metropolis 400 is no exception, even with two wheels at the front: it is rented on a motorcycle licence, and the shop that offers it sets a minimum age of 26. Do not book one of the five in the hope that a car licence will be accepted on the day.
Mopeds, electric, maxi and three-wheel models
Outside the plain city 125s, the list holds a handful of scooters with a specific job. Each is worth a look only if that job matches your trip.
The 50 cc moped
Moped rental in Valencia comes down to one model on this page, the Peugeot Tweet 50 at €23.12 a day. Its licence rule is the loosest of all: a category B car licence from the age of 19, or an AM, A1 or A licence from 18. For a rider under 21, or with a car licence younger than two or three years, it may be the only scooter available. Bear in mind that it costs more than most 125s and is built for short hops between neighbourhoods rather than longer rides along the coast. If your licence covers a 125, a 125 is the better buy.
Electric scooters
Two electric models are rated in the 125 class: the SEAT MÓ 125 and the Silence S01, both from €20 a day. They are quiet, need no fuel and sit at the same price as the cheapest petrol 125s. Battery range is not stated for either, so ask about the range and about charging before you book — especially if the plan is a ride from the centre to the beach and back, or a full day on one charge.
Maxi-scooters for two and for distance
The scooters above 125 cc are the comfortable option for two people and longer distances. The Honda Forza 350 has 29 hp, an 11.79-litre tank and weighs 186 kg; the Yamaha XMAX 250 has 21 hp, an 11.8-litre tank and weighs 180 kg. Compared with a city 125, the larger tank means fewer fuel stops on a day out, and the extra power matters with a passenger on board. The weight works the other way: at 180–186 kg these scooters are heavy to push into a tight parking space. The BMW C 400 X at €50 and the Piaggio Beverly 300 at €45 complete the group.
Three wheels and custom style
The Peugeot Metropolis 400 is the only three-wheeler on the page. Its two front wheels give a planted feel on uneven surfaces, but it still needs a motorcycle licence, and its €20 starting price stands next to a dated quote of €39.97 — expect to pay closer to the second figure. The Aprilia Compay 125 Custom, at €31.14, is a 125 with cruiser styling: it is chosen for the look, and it sits in the same licence class as the city scooters.
Documents, deposit and pick-up points
The price is only half of the booking. The other half is what you bring to the counter and where you collect the scooter.
What to bring
Expect to show a valid passport, a valid driving licence and a credit card — that is the standard set at shops renting scooters and motorcycles in the city. The licence has to match the engine size: category B or A1 and above for the 125 class, A2 or A for anything bigger, and B from 19 or AM from 18 for the 50 cc moped. Expect a minimum age of 21 and two to three years of holding the licence for most models, and 26 for the three-wheeled Metropolis 400. Bring the physical licence card, not a photo of it.
The deposit
A deposit is held against damage and fines and returned after the scooter comes back. For a SYM Symphony SR 125, one shop asks €300, the same figure for day and monthly hire. At the same shop, larger motorcycles carry deposits of €500 and €900, so the bigger the engine, the more the card has to hold. Ask in advance whether the deposit is blocked on a card or taken in cash, what can be deducted from it and how long it takes to be released.
Where scooters are picked up
To rent a scooter in Valencia you do not have to go to one central depot. Scooters on this page are handed over across the city: in the Cabanyal and Malvarrosa area by the beach, in Benimaclet, on Gran Via, in La Olivereta, Orriols, Camí Fondo, Albors and Vara de Quart. Pick-up at Valencia airport in Manises is possible too, but it costs more: one shop adds €35 for airport delivery, and dated quotes for airport pick-up ran higher than starting prices in the city — €28.47 against €20 for the Peugeot Django 125. If you are staying in the centre, collecting the scooter in the city the morning after you land is usually the cheaper plan.
Checking the scooter and the helmet
Helmets are compulsory on every scooter in Spain, so ask whether one is included with the rate and whether a second one is available for a passenger. Check that it fits before you leave. Then walk around the scooter and photograph every scratch and scuff, the fuel gauge or battery level and the odometer, and test the lights, brakes and mirrors. Those few minutes protect the deposit better than any discussion at the return.
Scooter, motorbike or bicycle for the route
A scooter is the cheapest motorised way to get around, but it is not the only option on two wheels, and in a flat city it is not always the obvious one.
Starting prices side by side
| Vehicle | Starting price | Licence |
|---|---|---|
| Bicycle | €8 a day | Not needed |
| Scooter | €15 a day, 27 models | Category B for 2–3 years covers the 125 class |
| Motorbike | €30 a day, 55 models | Category A for over 125 cc, age 21, 2 years |
What the numbers say
The cheapest scooter costs exactly half of the cheapest motorbike, €15 against €30 a day, and a bicycle costs about half of the cheapest scooter at €8. Valencia is flat, and the old Turia riverbed runs through the centre as a long park, so for a day spent inside the city a bicycle does most of what a scooter does for less money. A scooter wins when the day adds distance, a passenger or a run along the coast: the beach, the port and the neighbourhoods on the edge of the city are a short ride on an engine and a long one on pedals.
Choosing by route
For the centre and short hops between neighbourhoods, a bicycle at €8 or a city 125 at €20 is enough. For a day at the Malvarrosa beach with a passenger, a city or maxi 125 from €20–€30 covers it on a car licence. For a longer day out of the city with two people and luggage, a 250–400 cc maxi-scooter from €28.80 is the comfortable option for riders with an A2 or A licence. For anything that needs a real motorbike, the motorcycle section starts at €30 a day with 55 models.
