Car rental at Toronto Pearson Airport
From C$ 38 per day, Rent-Trip offers car rental at Toronto Pearson Airport with 165 cars across 15 classes, from an 8-car Economy line up to Exotic and Luxury models. We deliver the car to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) and John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM).
Where your car rental at Toronto Pearson Airport actually starts
We bring the vehicle to the terminal or to an address you name, and a manager confirms the address, date and time before the booking is fixed.
The delivery address, the date and the time are agreed with a manager before the reservation is fixed — not improvised at the kerb.
Documents and the first drive
Ontario lets a visitor drive on a valid licence from their own province, state or country for less than 3 months; anyone staying longer from another country needs an International Driver's Permit (IDP) from their own country, and it cannot be issued in Canada. The minimum age for the driver, the cards accepted and the territory covered are agreed when booking, and the deposit, insurance excess and delivery fees are set out in the rental agreement.
Picking up your car rental at Toronto Pearson Airport
Full-to-full fuel and a clean car
Every car in our fleet leaves clean and with a full tank, and it comes back the same way — full-to-full is the only fuel option we offer. There is no pre-paid tank to buy and no full-to-empty alternative, which keeps the arithmetic simple at both ends of the trip. Fill up before you return the car, though.
Documents a visitor needs to drive in Ontario
- Licence from home: a visitor staying in Ontario for less than 3 months drives on a valid licence from their own province, state or country.
- International Driver's Permit: anyone visiting from another country for more than 3 months needs an IDP issued in their own country.
- Where the IDP comes from: an International Driver's Permit cannot be obtained in Canada — arrange it before you travel.
- Insurance and registration: the driver must carry insurance for the car and keep the original or an exact copy of the ownership permit in the vehicle.
Choosing before you land
| Class | Cars on this page | Seats | From, per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crossover | 15 | 5 | C$ 49 |
| Comfort | 10 | 5 | C$ 68 |
Two details are worth settling with the manager rather than at the kerb: the minimum age of the driver and the cards accepted. Both are agreed when booking, and neither is something we publish as a fixed rule.
Choosing a car rental at Toronto Pearson Airport by class and group size
Class decides two things at once: how much space your party gets and what the booking costs over the length of your stay.
Classes from Economy to Exotic
| Class | Cars | Seats | From per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crossover | 15 | 5 | C$ 49 |
| Sedan | 9 | 5 | C$ 62 |
Matching seats to the party
- Four people: 17 four-seat cars are listed, mostly sports and convertible body styles rather than family transport.
- Seven or eight people: 14 seven-seat and 10 eight-seat models, including the Honda Odyssey at C$ 68 a day and the Hyundai Palisade at C$ 68.
Petrol, hybrid or electric
Most of what we hand over at the airport runs on petrol — 153 cars — with 7 hybrids and 5 electrics making up the rest. The gearbox split is even more one-sided: 164 of the 165 cars are automatic, and a single manual is available for drivers who want it. Electric options include the Tesla Model 3 at C$ 98 a day and the Polestar 2 at C$ 77, both five-seaters.
What shapes the price of a car rental at Toronto Pearson Airport
Everything below uses the same fleet — 165 cars on this page, from C$ 38 to C$ 2,599 a day.
Daily, weekly and monthly bookings
We quote the rental per day, and the longer booking has its own arithmetic: a week runs at daily × 6, a month at daily × 21. That is why a seven-day booking on the cheapest car on the page — Mitsubishi Mirage at C$ 38 a day — comes to C$ 228 for the week, and thirty days of the same car to C$ 798. The range across the fleet starts at C$ 38 for an Economy hatchback and reaches C$ 2,599 a day for the Ferrari F8 Tributo.
What the rental agreement sets out
- Deposit: the amount is set out in the rental agreement, not on this page, and it is agreed when booking.
- Insurance excess: the figure you carry in case of damage is written into the agreement you sign.
- Extras and territory: additional drivers, cards accepted and permission to cross into the United States are agreed when booking and recorded in the agreement.
Class, group size and the day you arrive
The class you choose is the second lever. SUV is the largest group on the page at 31 cars from C$ 58, Premium has 27 from C$ 59, Crossover 15 from C$ 49, while Economy holds 8 cars from C$ 38 and Exotic 14 from C$ 1,499. Seats work the same way: 100 of the 165 cars are five-seaters, 14 are seven-seat, 10 eight-seat, and one twelve-seat van covers a full group.
Driving a car rental from Toronto Pearson Airport around the region
Neither is complicated once you know what to expect.
Highway 407 ETR is an electronic toll road with no cash booths: light vehicles pay 49.93¢ to 119.21¢ per kilometre depending on the zone and the time you enter, plus a trip toll charge of C$ 1. The rate moves with distance and the hour, so a short hop in off-peak traffic and a long run at rush hour land in very different places. Without a transponder, the camera charge is C$ 5.30 per trip and C$ 5 a month as an account fee. Who covers road charges and any notices that follow is agreed when booking — we do not assume it either way.
Winter tyres and right-hand traffic
Winter tyres are not mandatory in Ontario. Quebec is different: there they are required from 1 December to 15 March for vehicles registered in Quebec, rental cars included, with a fine of C$ 200–300 — and a car on plates from another province is not covered by that rule. If your trip crosses into Quebec in winter, check what the car is wearing before you set off rather than at the border.
Where the car takes you
The city is the base for these trips, but the road out is the point.
Whichever direction you pick, fill up before you head back to the airport — the car goes out and comes back full, and the refuelling charge for a short tank is set out in the rental agreement.
Delivery points for your car rental at Toronto Pearson Airport
Rent-Trip brings the car to the address you name, and the delivery address is one of the details a manager confirms before the booking is fixed. Within the city we cover the airports and the addresses below; anything outside that list is arranged case by case and is not promised on the site.
Airports and city addresses we deliver to
Mississauga, North York, Scarborough and Vaughan: the surrounding districts inside our delivery area, useful when you are staying outside the centre.
Delivery outside the places listed above is not promised on the site — ask the manager and it is arranged case by case.
Booking a car rental at Toronto Pearson Airport with confidence
Booking a car rental at Toronto Pearson Airport with Rent-Trip works the same way every time: you tell us the plan, a manager confirms the details, and the reservation is fixed only after that conversation. The conditions you actually drive under — the minimum age, the cards accepted, the territory you may cover — are agreed at that stage, not assumed from a website form.
What is agreed when booking
- Minimum driver age: the threshold is agreed with the manager when the booking is made, along with any conditions that come with it — nothing about age is fixed on this page.
- Territory and cross-border travel: most cars taken in Canada may be driven into the United States, but only with the permission of the specific rental point, and some classes — exotic cars and large vans — are restricted. Crossing without written permission breaks both the agreement and the insurance, and a passport is required at the border.
- Deposit, excess and delivery fees: all of these are set out in the rental agreement, and we do not quote them as figures here.
Fuel, cleaning and the return
- Full-to-full: the car is supplied with a full tank and must come back with a full tank — no other fuel option is offered.
- Missing fuel: if the tank is short on return, the missing fuel plus a refuelling service fee are charged as set out in the rental agreement.
In our practice, the booking call is where a trip is either made easy or made awkward. Tell the manager the flight number and the return date at the same time, and the two ends of the rental line up.
