The Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona has been in force since 15.09.2025, running Monday to Friday, 7:00–20:00 on working days, covering the area from la Devesa park to c. d'Emili Grahit and from c. del Riu Güell to c. del Carme and Barri Vell. Cars without a DGT environmental badge that are not registered in Girona are restricted, with 24 days a year allowed inside the restricted hours without a permit; cameras read plates, and no sticker has to be displayed. Spanish rental fleets carry the DGT badge, so a car with it faces no restriction. In Girona, zona blava parking costs €1.20 per hour for a maximum of two hours (€2.40) on working days 9:30–13:00 and 16:00–20:00, with different hours around Sant Narcís; zona verda for non-residents runs at the same €1.20 per hour and two-hour cap.

On collection, Spanish consumer rules require every scratch and dent to be entered in the agreement or the inspection sheet before the car leaves, with both sides signing and a copy staying with the renter; without that, damage can be pinned on the driver. If the booked model is unavailable, the client may ask for another car at no extra charge, even a higher class, and if a lower class is supplied the price has to come down.
