Catamarans in Pattaya: Prices, Guests and Ocean Marina
Catamaran charter in Pattaya starts from ฿16,400 a day for a two-cabin Lagoon 380, and the 26 models in this section run up to ฿225,000 for eight hours on the 25-metre Floeth Custom 85. Below: how day rates, hour blocks and fixed-price trips compare, what sail or motor changes, how many guests each boat takes, where the boats leave from and when demand peaks.
Day rates, four-hour blocks and fixed trips
Catamarans around Pattaya are priced in three ways — a full day, a block of hours, or a trip at a fixed price — and the unit decides what a figure on a card actually buys.
What you book: the whole boat, captain and crew included
A catamaran charter here means the whole boat for your group, not a seat on a shared tour, and the captain and crew are already included in the rental price, so nobody in the party has to sail or steer. The Rent-Trip section on this page brings together 26 catamaran models: 16 sailing catamarans, 9 motor catamarans and one custom build with twin 350 hp Isuzu engines, the Custom Catamaran 58. Guest capacity runs from 10 guests on the Lagoon 40 to 120 on the Floeth Custom 85, so the same word covers a quiet boat for one family and a floating venue for a company outing. In my view, the first useful filter for a catamaran charter in Pattaya is headcount, not price — decide how many people are coming, and a good part of the models drops out before any budget is set.
Four-, five- and eight-hour blocks
Thirteen of the 26 models are priced as a block of hours rather than a day. Eight come in four-hour blocks, from ฿38,900 on the Custom Catamaran 58 to ฿89,000 on the 22.9-metre Silver Princess SPY 750; two come in five-hour blocks, the Island Spirit 380 from ฿27,500 and the Ocean Voyager 64 from ฿40,000; and three are sold as eight hours, from ฿19,000 on the speed catamaran Ramayana 45 to ฿225,000 on the Floeth Custom 85. Split by the hour, the spread is wide: about ฿2,400 an hour on the Ramayana against about ฿28,100 on the Floeth. A four-hour block covers a morning or an afternoon — the Custom Catamaran 58 price is for a four-hour morning charter. Before setting a block against a day rate, check whether the shorter block leaves enough time to reach the island you have in mind and come back.
Day rates and fixed-price trips
Eight models carry a day rate, from ฿16,400 on the Lagoon 380 to ฿100,100 on the Lagoon 500, and the middle of those eight is ฿34,000. Five more are sold as a trip at a fixed price with no stated hours: the Sailing Yacht Lagoon and the Sailing Catamaran Rose from ฿23,999, the Champagne from ฿26,399, the Bali 45 from ฿26,999 and the Honda 55 from ฿32,399. The gap between the cheapest and the dearest of these five is only ฿8,400, so the choice between them comes down to size and guest numbers more than price. Every figure on the page is a starting price without dates, the lowest a boat goes out for. Before you put a trip price next to a day rate, ask how many hours the trip covers and which islands it includes — the same ฿26,399 can buy a short run or a much longer outing.
Prices from 16,400 to 225,000 baht across 26 models
Because the 26 models use five different price units, the fair comparison runs unit by unit — and inside each unit the spread is still several times over.
Starting prices by price unit
| Price unit | Models | Starting price | Middle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full day | 8 | ฿16,400–100,100 | ฿34,000 |
| Four-hour block | 8 | ฿38,900–89,000 | ฿45,450 |
| Five-hour block | 2 | ฿27,500–40,000 | ฿33,750 |
| Eight-hour block | 3 | ฿19,000–225,000 | ฿55,300 |
| Trip, hours not stated | 5 | ฿23,999–32,399 | ฿26,399 |
Where most prices fall
For catamaran rental in Pattaya, the widest choice sits between ฿30,000 and ฿50,000: 12 of the 26 models start in that band, whatever their unit. Eight start under ฿30,000 — seven sailing boats for 15 to 20 guests and the speed catamaran Ramayana 45 — while four fall between ฿50,000 and ฿100,000, and two go past ฿100,000: the Lagoon 500 at ฿100,100 a day and the Floeth Custom 85 at ฿225,000 for eight hours. The cheapest entry is the Lagoon 380 at ฿16,400, a two-cabin boat for 15 guests, about 15 years older than the Lagoon 40. Mixing units hides real differences, though. A ฿45,000 four-hour block and a ฿45,000 full day are not the same purchase, so use the band as a first budget and then compare boats of the same unit with each other.
Half a day against a full day on the same boat
A full day costs far less than two half days. The Leopard 384 starts at ฿42,900 for four hours and at about ฿53,700 for a full day, only a quarter more; the Lagoon 421 goes from ฿49,300 for four hours to about ฿60,200 for the full charter, roughly 22% more. On the motor side the step is larger — the Aquila 44 runs at about ฿45,300 for a half day and ฿65,400 for a full one, around 1.4 times — but it is still well short of double. If the four-hour price already fits the budget, ask for the full-day figure as well: on these three boats the extra hours cost between about 22% and 44% more, not twice as much.
One model, several boats and several prices
A model name is not a price. The Lagoon 440 card starts at ฿24,900 a day, yet other Lagoon 440s around the same marina ask about ฿38,500, ฿39,000 and ฿39,500, and one four-cabin boat for 21 guests starts at about ฿63,600 — more than two and a half times the cheapest. The Serenite 52 shows the same pattern: one boat from ฿45,000 for four hours, another at about ฿44,800 for a full day, and a third offer at about ฿64,300 for four hours. Cabin layout, build year, crew and inclusions all move the figure. When a card shows a low starting price, treat it as the floor for that model, and ask for a dated quote on the exact boat, by its name if possible, before comparing it with anything else.
Sail or motor: how the two hull types compare
Sixteen of the models are sailing catamarans and nine are motor catamarans, and the split shapes group size and pace more than it shapes the starting price.
Sailing and motor catamarans side by side
| Sailing catamarans | Motor catamarans | |
|---|---|---|
| Models | 16 | 9 |
| Starting price, any unit | ฿16,400–100,100 | ฿19,000–225,000 |
| Guests, where stated | 10–40 | 20–120 |
| Length, where stated | 11.6–21.9 m | 13.0–25.0 m |
| Lagoon models | 6 | 0 |
Sailing catamarans: the Lagoon family and its neighbours
A sailing catamaran in Pattaya is mostly a cruising boat of 11.6 to 13.7 metres — seven of the ten sailing models with a stated length fall in that range — and Lagoon is the most common maker, with 6 of the 16: the 380, 40, 421, 440, 500 and a boat sold simply as the Sailing Yacht Lagoon. Fountaine Pajot, Leopard, Bali and Island Spirit add one model each. The longest sailing hulls are two older boats, the 19.8-metre Outremer 65 and the 21.9-metre Chantiers Nautique Pinta 72, both for 30 guests. Neither is the most expensive: the Pinta starts at ฿31,900 for a full charter, below the much shorter Lagoon 40 at ฿38,000. Length on a sailing catamaran buys deck space for more people, while the price follows age and finish — the Lagoon 40 is about 17 years younger than the Pinta.
Motor catamarans for large groups
Motor catamarans carry the big groups. Four models take more than 50 guests: the Serenite 73 with 69, the Custom Catamaran 58 with 70, the Silver Princess SPY 750 with 80 and the Floeth Custom 85 with 120. Their four-hour prices differ widely — ฿38,900 on the Custom Catamaran 58, ฿75,200 on the Serenite 73 and ฿89,000 on the SPY 750 — while the Floeth is priced at ฿225,000 for eight hours. Per guest, the Custom Catamaran 58 works out at about ฿560, the lowest of the 25 models with a stated capacity. These boats suit a company outing or a large family celebration more than a quiet sail, and their cabin counts stay small: the Floeth has a single cabin for 120 day guests. For a big party, compare the cost per head first, then ask how much of the deck is shaded.
The speed catamaran and engine power
The Ramayana 45 is the odd one out: a 13.7-metre speed catamaran for 30 passengers with two 250 hp engines and no cabins, priced at ฿19,000 for eight hours. That is the lowest hourly figure among the boats sold in hour blocks, about ฿2,400 an hour, and the boat is set up for covering distance between islands rather than for lounging. Engine figures elsewhere show how differently the hulls are equipped: the sailing Island Spirit 380 has two 50 hp engines and the Lagoon 440 two 80 hp, while the motor Serenite 73 runs two 160 hp Yanmars, the Custom Built 63 two 168 hp engines and the Silver Princess SPY 750 two 315 hp Yanmars. If the plan includes several islands in one outing, a boat with more power spends less of the booked hours in transit — worth asking about when the block is only four hours long.
Group size, cabins and the price per guest
Guest numbers are stated for 25 of the 26 models, and they vary more than prices do — from 10 people on the smallest boat to 120 on the largest.
How many guests the catamarans take
| Guests | Models | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 15 | 4 | Lagoon 40 (10), Lagoon 380 (15) |
| 16–30 | 14 | Lagoon 440 (16), Leopard 384 (24), Outremer 65 (30) |
| 31–50 | 3 | Bakri Cono 48 (35), Powerplay 52 (40) |
| Over 50 | 4 | Serenite 73 (69), Floeth Custom 85 (120) |
Price per guest across the range
Divide the starting price by the guest number and the order of the section changes. The Custom Catamaran 58 comes out at about ฿560 per guest for four hours, the Ramayana 45 at about ฿630 for eight, the Honda 55 at about ฿810 per trip and the Bakri Cono 48 at about ฿920 a day. At the other end, the boats with few guests for their price cost the most per head: about ฿2,380 on the Fountaine Pajot Fidji 39, ฿3,270 on the Aquila 44, ฿3,340 on the Lagoon 500 and ฿3,800 on the 10-guest Lagoon 40. Seven of the eight sailing catamarans for 15 to 20 guests fall between about ฿1,100 and ฿1,600 per head. They assume a full boat: with eight people on a 20-guest catamaran, the cost per person is 2.5 times higher, so choose by the number of guests you will actually bring.
Cabins and staying overnight
Cabin counts are stated for 17 models and stay small: two boats have one cabin, nine have two, five have three and only the Leopard 384 has four. Day capacity and sleeping capacity are different numbers. The Serenite 52 takes 30 people on a day charter but 4 guests overnight, in two double cabins, and the Floeth Custom 85 has one cabin on a boat that carries 120 by day. On a short outing a cabin is mainly a place to change and get out of the sun. For an overnight plan, start from the cabin count and ask for the overnight guest limit directly — on the one boat where both figures are known, it is 4 against 30.
Ocean Marina, the islands and the hours at sea
Almost the whole catamaran fleet of Pattaya sails from one base, so choosing a boat is rarely a choice of pier; the route and the number of hours matter more.
Ocean Marina Jomtien as the base
Pattaya's catamarans are based almost entirely at Ocean Marina Jomtien, the yacht club in Na Jomtien south of the city. A base is stated directly for nine models — the Lagoon 380, 40, 440 and 500, the Fountaine Pajot Fidji 39, the Island Spirit 380, the Outremer 65, the Custom Built 63 and the Ramayana 45 — and all nine sit at Ocean Marina. The marina is about 90 minutes by road from Bangkok, which makes a charter workable for weekend trips and company events from the capital. Two motor catamarans, the Aquila 44 and the Bakri Cono 48, have Pattaya as their home port and work in Thai waters all year. For a private catamaran in Pattaya, plan the transfer to Na Jomtien rather than to a beach pier, and ask for the meeting point together with the price.
Koh Ped, Monkey Island and Koh Larn
Day routes run to the islands off the coast. The Ocean Voyager 64, a sailing catamaran for up to 45 guests, prices its Route A — Koh Ped and Monkey Island — at ฿40,000 for a five-hour morning, which shows what a half-day block covers in practice: two island stops and the passage between them. Koh Larn, the island most day trips from Pattaya head for, is the other common destination. The four-hour charters, such as the Custom Catamaran 58 morning outing at ฿38,900, work on the same pattern of a morning departure. Ask which islands the price includes, because a set route and a route of your choice can be quoted differently, and check whether time at anchor counts inside the booked hours.
Matching the hours to the plan
Hours are the hidden variable in every catamaran price here. Eight models sell four-hour blocks, two sell five hours and three sell eight, while the eight boats priced by the day do not state how many hours that covers. A four-hour block fits one island; a five-hour block, as Route A shows, covers two; eight hours or a full day leaves room for a longer sail, lunch at anchor and an unhurried return. Count the transfer to and from Ocean Marina as part of the plan as well, since it eats into the same day. My working rule is to fix the islands first and then pick the block — a ฿27,500 five-hour Island Spirit 380 can be better value than a cheaper rate whose hours you cannot fully use, and an eight-hour Ramayana at ฿19,000 makes sense only if the group wants to stay out that long.
Season, requests and comparing quotes
The prices on this page are starting figures without dates; the season, the exact boat and the hours in a quote decide what you actually pay.
November to April and the rest of the year
The charter peak in Pattaya runs from November to April, and the figures on this page are undated starting prices, so a quote for a weekend in that window can come in above them. Outside the peak the fleet does not disappear: the Aquila 44 and the Bakri Cono 48 both have Pattaya as their home port and cruise Thai waters all year. For a group that is large or tied to a fixed date — a company outing, a birthday on the water — the safest move is to ask for a dated quote as soon as the date is known. For dates close to the end of October or the start of May, ask for prices on both sides of the season boundary before fixing the trip.
What to put in a catamaran request
- Date and hours: give the exact date and the block you want — four hours, five, eight or a full day — so one total can be quoted.
- Guests and nights: state the full headcount and whether anyone sleeps on board, because day capacity and overnight berths differ.
- Route: name the islands you want, such as Koh Larn or Koh Ped and Monkey Island, or ask which route the price covers.
- Crew and extras: confirm that the captain and crew are inside the price and ask what else the figure includes.
- Exact boat: name the model from the cards on this page and ask whether the quote is for that boat or a similar one.
Reading two quotes for the same catamaran
The Silver Princess SPY 750 shows why quotes need lining up before they are compared. One offer for this 80-guest motor catamaran starts at ฿89,000 for four hours, another at about ฿103,500 for the same four hours, and a third at about ฿88,400 for a full day — so the cheapest per hour is that third offer, not either four-hour block. Behind such gaps sit different boats of the same model, different cabin layouts and different inclusions; one of the three offers is for a boat with four cabins, the card shows two. Put four facts next to each figure — the unit and hours, the departure point, what the price covers and the date — and only then compare totals. A quote that cannot state its hours is not yet comparable with one that can, whatever the number on it says.
Key points before you book a catamaran
Five figures to keep in mind
- Day rate: the eight day-priced catamarans start between ฿16,400 and ฿100,100, with the middle at ฿34,000.
- Four-hour block: eight models start from ฿38,900 to ฿89,000; a full day on the same boat costs about 22–44% more on the three boats where both prices are known.
- Same model: one Lagoon 440 starts at ฿24,900 a day and another at about ฿63,600, so ask for the exact boat.
- Per guest: from about ฿560 on the 70-guest Custom Catamaran 58 to about ฿3,800 on the 10-guest Lagoon 40.
- Season: the charter peak runs from November to April, so ask for a dated price early.
