The Ford Fiesta is 1,850 TL per day: petrol, automatic, 5 seats, 1.0-liter engine. The Focus is 550 TL more expensive at 2,400 TL per day, but with the same body and petrol engine, it offers 150 hp. Among sedans, the Mondeo stands out with a 2.0-liter hybrid system and 187 hp at 3,100 TL per day. The Kuga, a hybrid SUV with 190 hp, is 3,300 TL per day. The flagship of the series is the Tourneo Custom: 8 seats, diesel, automatic, 5,650 TL per day. For comparison: the 3-seat, 2.0-liter diesel Ford Transit rents for 2,600 TL per day.

Weekly and monthly Ford rental

For long-term rentals we apply the following formula: week = daily × 6, month = daily × 21. The weekly rental of Ford Fiesta is 11,100 TL, and the monthly rental is 38,850 TL. The most expensive in this calculation is Tourneo Custom: weekly 33,900 TL, monthly 118,650 TL. The savings are clear: in monthly rental you pay for 21 days instead of 30, so you effectively get a 30% discount compared to the daily rate. For trips lasting longer than two weeks, it is more advantageous to book monthly directly instead of extending the daily rate; the price difference covers the difference in the number of days paid.

Ford Fiesta or Focus

If you need a car for city driving and you travel alone or with two people, choose: Ford Fiesta 1,850 TRY/day. This is the cheapest Ford in our fleet: a compact hatchback with a 1.0 L petrol engine producing 100 hp and an automatic transmission; here, power is less important than maneuverability in traffic. The car parks easily in the narrow streets of Beyoğlu and Beşiktaş, where the width of the passage is sometimes less than the length of the vehicle. Ford Focus 2,400 TL/day, 550 TL more expensive per day, but offers a 1.5 L engine and 150 hp; the difference is felt when overtaking on the D-100 highway and climbing the Bosphorus bridges. For a trip from Taksim to Ataşehir during rush hour, the Fiesta is sufficient; the Focus makes sense if you plan out-of-town trips with fast sections like Sapanca or Şile. The Fiesta is more economical in the city, while the Focus is safer on the highway.

Hybrid advantage: Mondeo and Kuga

Ford Mondeo TRY 3,100/day and Ford Kuga TRY 3,300/day — they are the only hybrids in our fleet, and the difference between them is not just the TRY 200 price gap but also the body type. The Mondeo is a sedan with a 2.0 L engine and 187 hp, designed for long straight roads: you can comfortably drive to Cappadocia, where being behind the wheel for 8 hours is normal. The Kuga is an SUV with a 2.5 L engine and 190 hp; it's 3 hp more powerful, but what really matters is the higher driving position and ground clearance. On the steep streets of Üsküdar or the rough roads of Esenyurt, the Kuga is more practical. In both, the hybrid system is noticeably quieter at traffic lights than petrol versions and consumes less when idling. The Mondeo is chosen for business trips and motorways, while the Kuga is chosen for families and any type of terrain.

Commercial models: Transit and Tourneo Courier

We have two commercial Fords for cargo and work tasks, and they can be confused by their prices, but their purposes are different. Ford Transit ... 2,600 TL per day — 3 seats and 2.0 L diesel 130 hp, manual transmission: preferred for construction materials, furniture, or oversized luggage that doesn't fit in a regular sedan. Ford Tourneo Courier ... 1,800 TL per day — the cheapest Ford in the fleet, but that's no mistake: a 5-seat panel van, 1.5 L diesel 100 hp, still manual. It's 50 TL per day cheaper than the Fiesta because it's a utilitarian vehicle without city comfort. The Courier suits a team of three or four with tools; the Transit is for bulky cargo. Both are diesel, consuming less than petrol on long routes like Edirne or Bursa. If you're torn, calculate the volume: for construction materials, the Transit; for people with luggage, the Courier.

At the other end of the range is the Tourneo Custom at 5,650 TRY per day: an eight-seat minivan with a diesel engine, for the whole family or a work group.

For long intercity trips — Sapanca, Bursa or Cappadocia — the hybrid Mondeo and Kuga are more practical: quieter on the motorway and more economical in the city. Both models are automatic, seat 5, and cost 3,100 TL and 3,300 TL per day respectively. If a cargo van is needed, choose between the three-seat Transit and the five-seat Tourneo Courier — both diesel and manual, but the Transit is more powerful: 130 hp versus 100 hp.

Documents and Requirements

The list of documents we expect from foreign visitors to rent a Ford is short and clear: passport, entry stamp to Turkey, a valid driver's license issued in the country of residence, and, if the driver's license is not in Latin script, an International Driving Permit (IDP). A credit card registered in the main driver's name is required for the security deposit. All documents must be with us as originals at the time of delivery; photocopies or phone photos are not accepted.

Document list for foreigners

• Passport: At the time of delivery, it must not be expired; the entry stamp into Turkey must be on the relevant page of the passport.
• Driver's license: The main driver must have a valid license issued in their own name showing at least one year of driving experience.
• International Driving Permit (IDP): If the driver's license is issued in a non-Latin script, such as Cyrillic, Arabic, or Chinese, an IDP is mandatory.
• Credit card: A credit card issued in the main driver's name and enabled for international payments is required for the security block; debit cards or someone else's card are not accepted.

Age and license requirements

Age and driving experience requirements increase gradually according to the class of the rented vehicle. For an Economy class Ford Fiesta, the basic age limit is sufficient, while for an 8-seat Ford Tourneo Custom or commercial class Ford Transit, higher age and longer license experience are required. These thresholds are set out in the contract for each model and are not negotiable. The same rule applies to adding an additional driver: the additional driver must also present the same set of documents at the time of delivery. In our practice, the most common shortcoming is forgetting the IDP — before handing over the vehicle, check the writing system of your license; if it is not in Latin script, make sure to have the IDP with you.

Ford delivery to the airport

Istanbul's two airports are located at separate points on opposite sides of the city: Istanbul Airport (IST) is in Arnavutköy on the European side, and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) is in Pendik on the Asian side. Rent-Trip plans the rental based on the airport and delivers the car at the terminal exit; this saves time, especially for travelers who don't want to deal with public transport transfers after a long flight. Delivery from Istanbul Airport

With the Ford you pick up from IST, you can reach your hotels on the European side — Şişli, Beşiktaş, or Bakırköy — directly. When traveling to the city center by car, you need to account for bridge and tunnel tolls requiring HGS; the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge crossing costs 110 TL. Rent-Trip delivers the car at the IST parking lot or a designated meeting point in front of the terminal and completes the delivery process according to the procedure specified in the agreement. Even if your flight lands at night, delivery is adjusted to the scheduled time.

Delivery from Sabiha Gökçen

The Ford picked up from SAW provides quick access to the Kadıköy, Üsküdar, and Ataşehir areas on the Asian side. To cross from the Asian side to the European side, you can use the Eurasia Tunnel; the daytime crossing is 280 TL, nighttime 140 TL. Rent-Trip applies the same delivery procedure at the SAW exit, and you check the vehicle's fuel level and cleanliness together at the time of delivery. For those planning intercity trips, it is possible to reach Şile and Ağva from the SAW exit in about 1.5 hours.

Contract Terms and HGS

Renting a Ford in Istanbul comes with a standard set of conditions: mandatory insurance, a deposit, and payment rules for toll roads. In this section, we'll look at what is included in the rental agreement and how the HGS system works on bridges and tunnels.

What to pay attention to in the contract

In Turkey, every vehicle is insured by law with compulsory traffic insurance, which covers damage to third parties. The deposit, return conditions, mileage, and additional options are specified in the rental agreement; exact amounts and limits are stated in the contract. For foreign renters, a passport with an entry stamp, a national license, and, if the license is not in the Latin alphabet, an international driving permit are mandatory. A credit card in the main driver's name is required to block the deposit amount; cash is not accepted for the deposit.

HGS and bridge crossings

Turkey uses the HGS electronic toll collection system for bridges, tunnels, and highways. When you rent a car with plates from 34 (Istanbul), toll crossings are automatically deducted from the HGS balance linked to the plate. Rates at major crossings: Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge – 110 TL, Eurasia Tunnel – 280 TL during the day and 140 TL at night, Osmangazi Bridge – 1,170 TL. Unpaid crossings (violations) incur a fine of four times the amount if the debt is not paid on time.

HGS: ... an electronic toll collection system for bridges and tunnels, operating automatically without stopping. Compulsory traffic insurance: Compulsory financial liability insurance covering damages to third parties in traffic accidents. Unauthorized toll passage: Passing through a toll point without paying; the fine is four times the toll.

Ford weekend getaway — routes to Şile, Ağva, and Sapanca

For a short getaway from Istanbul, Ford rental allows you to set off without being dependent on public transport hours. The weekend holiday covers Saturday and Sunday; to use these two days efficiently, the most practical planning is to pick up the car on Friday evening and return it on Sunday evening. All out-of-town routes start from both sides of Istanbul via bridges or tunnels requiring HGS.

Şile and Ağva route

Şile and Ağva are about 1.5 hours from Istanbul and are the closest nature routes for a weekend getaway. For this distance, the Ford Fiesta suffices: at 1,850 TL/day, it doesn't strain the budget, and its compact body allows easy maneuverability on narrow coastal roads. Most of the road is single-lane and winding; 100 hp is adequate on this course. The petrol engine runs more economically than diesel over short distances; the round trip to Şile is about 150 km, consuming about a quarter of an average tank.

Sapanca and a long weekend

A 2-hour drive to Sapanca justifies a comfort-class Ford Focus: with a price of 2,400 TL/day, 150 hp power allows safe overtaking on the motorway. The Focus's 1.5 L petrol engine runs quietly at low revs at 110 km/h, making it easy to stay behind the wheel for long periods. For a three-day long weekend, the calculation is made on a daily rate instead of a weekly tariff; the total cost is 7,200 TL, which is lower than hotel + transfer expenses. To avoid traffic on the return from Sapanca, you need to set off early on Sunday evening; otherwise, you lose an extra 1 hour entering Istanbul.

Choosing a Ford for business travel — Mondeo and comfort class

For corporate visits, meeting schedules, and intercity business meetings, the right vehicle class directly affects the professional impression you make. The Ford Mondeo, at 3,100 TL/day, meets both business and comfort expectations in a single vehicle with its sedan body and hybrid engine. The hybrid system consumes significantly less fuel than a petrol engine in stop-and-go city traffic; given the time spent in Istanbul traffic, this difference is noticeable by the end of the day.

Intercity program with Mondeo

The Mondeo's 2.0 L hybrid engine produces 187 hp and does not cause fatigue on long stages like an 8-hour drive to Cappadocia on the motorway. The sedan body transmits wind noise into the cabin at a minimal level; this provides an advantage on business trips where you need to make phone calls. The trunk volume easily accommodates two large suitcases and one cabin bag — solving all luggage needs between the airport transfer and the hotel in one go. The hybrid engine's quiet operation does not interrupt a conversation while taking a customer from Sabiha Gökçen to an office in Ataşehir. On business trips, renting the car on a weekly rate instead of daily provides flexibility in the schedule and reduces the total cost.

What to know during the delivery and return process

The most important step in the Ford rental process is the checks at the moment of vehicle pick-up and return. Since Rent-Trip has no physical office, delivery takes place at an agreed point: Istanbul Airport, Sabiha Gökçen, or an address you specify in the city. At the time of delivery, the vehicle's existing damage, fuel level, and odometer are checked together, and this record is entered into the contract.

Delivery checklist

• Exterior body: In daylight, check the bodywork, wheels, and windows for scratches or dents; taking photos provides evidence in case of a dispute.
• Interior: Inspect the upholstery, roof, and luggage compartment; if you have a request for a child seat or additional equipment, confirm at delivery whether it is available.
• Fuel level: Clarify at handover whether the tank must be full or returned at the same level; this rule is set out in the rental agreement.
