Motorcycles in Tbilisi: Day Rates, Classes and Rider Rules

Fleet manager
Published Updated

Motorcycle rental in Tbilisi starts from $37 a day for a 451 cc cruiser, and the middle of 40 models sits at $105 a day. Most of the range is adventure and enduro bikes built for trips out of the city. Below: how the length of a rental changes the daily rate, what each class costs, and the licence, age and deposit rules riders meet.

How bike hire is priced: one day, a week or a month

A motorcycle in the Georgian capital is priced by the day, but the day rate you see first is rarely the one you pay. The number of days, the place of handover and the extras you add all move the total.

The day rate is a starting price

Every price on this page is a "from" figure per day, converted into US dollars. It is the lowest rate found for that model, and for many bikes it belongs to the longest rental term. A dated quote for a short trip is usually higher. Treat the figure as the floor of the range, not as the price of a weekend.

Why the same bike can cost $100 or $45 a day

Tiered tariffs are common in Tbilisi, and the gap between the first and the last tier is wide. The Benelli TRK 702X and the Honda NC750S cost $100 for a single day and $45 a day once the rental runs past 30 days. The Kawasaki Eliminator 450 goes from $75 for one day to $35 a day on the same 30-day tier. Adventure tourers follow the same logic: a Honda NX500 or a Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT costs about $170 a day for one or two days and $110 a day from seven days. The Honda XL750 Transalp drops from about $200 to $150, and the Africa Twin from about $220 to $160. A KTM 390 Enduro R is quoted at $100 a day for up to five days and $80 a day from the sixth. Some companies instead take 20% off any rental longer than six days. In practice, the per-day price of a two-week trip can be anywhere from a fifth to more than half below the price of a short ride on the same machine.

What is outside the rate

Riding gear is often billed separately. Single items such as a jacket, gloves or boots run about $7 to $12 a day each, and a full adventure kit about $33 a day. If you start or finish in Kutaisi instead of Tbilisi, expect a surcharge of about $100 per motorcycle. Mileage is another line to check: one offer for the Husqvarna 701 Enduro caps the distance at 300 km a day, while some Kove offers state unlimited mileage. A day rate with a mileage cap and a day rate without one are different prices, even if the figure is the same.

Riding on your own or with a guide

Four rental modes exist side by side: self-ride by the day, weekly and monthly terms, and guided motorcycle tours where the bike comes with a route and a leader. This page covers motorbike rental in Tbilisi for the bike itself. If you plan a guided tour, the bike is usually part of the tour price and the rules below may differ.

Day rates from $37 to $270

The Rent-Trip section brings together 40 motorcycle models from 15 makers. BMW and Honda account for seven models each, KTM for four, and Suzuki, CFMoto, Kawasaki and Kove for three each. By class, 24 of the 40 are adventure bikes, seven are enduro bikes, and the remaining nine are dual-sport, naked, sport, cruiser and standard machines.

Four price bands

Band, per dayModelsExamples
Under $506Kawasaki Eliminator 450 ($37), Hero Xpulse 200 Pro ($40), Benelli TRK 702X ($45)
$50–9910Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 ($65), Suzuki DR-Z 400 ($75), BMW F650GS ($91)
$100–12913Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 ($100), BMW F800GS ($120), KTM 790 Adventure ($110)
$130 and up11Honda Africa Twin ($160), BMW F850GS Adventure ($170), Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R ($270)

Half the models, 20 of the 40, start at $100 a day or less, and the median sits at $105. The average is a little higher, at about $107, because a handful of large bikes pull it up.

Engine size and price do not line up

Displacement is a weak guide here. The 700 cc Benelli TRK 702X starts at $45, while the 450 cc Kove 450 Rally starts at $150. The 390 cc KTM 390 Adventure, at $120, costs more than the 650 cc Suzuki V-Strom at $110. What drives the price is the class of bike, its age, the length of the rental behind the "from" figure and the company offering it. Compare bikes of the same class and the same term, not the same number of cubic centimetres.

What a week costs at the day rate

Multiplying the starting rate by seven gives a rough ceiling for a week, not an exact quote. The cheapest bike works out at about $259 for seven days, a mid-range bike at $105 a day comes to about $735, and the BMW F850GS Adventure at $170 comes to $1,190. Where a 20% long-rental discount applies, the mid-range week drops to about $588. Add gear and any one-way surcharge on top of that figure.

Budget and road bikes under $100

Sixteen models start below $100 a day. Two of them are enduros, covered in the next section; the other 14 split into small dual-sports, road bikes and entry-level adventure machines, and they suit very different trips.

200 cc dual-sports: Hero Xpulse and Pro Tank

The Hero Xpulse 200 Pro starts at $40 a day and the standard Xpulse 200 at $44. Both are 200 cc dual-sports, the lightest and cheapest way to try unpaved roads. The Pro Tank 200 EFI, a 200 cc standard bike, also starts at $40. The spread between quotes on these small bikes is wide: the Xpulse 200 also appears at about $56 a day for a two-day booking and at about $91 a day elsewhere, and the Pro version at about $57. Ask what term a low figure belongs to.

Road bikes: Eliminator, NC750S, Gladius, Z125 Pro and CBR500R

For city riding and paved routes the choice runs from a cruiser to a sport bike. The Kawasaki Eliminator 450/500 is the cheapest model on the page at $37. The Honda NC750S, offered with a DCT automatic gearbox in one version, starts at $45. The Suzuki Gladius 650 starts at $68, the Kawasaki Z125 Pro at $70, and the Honda CBR500R sport bike at $79. The Z125 Pro is the only 125 cc model in the range, which matters for the licence rules in the section below.

Entry adventure bikes

Six lighter adventure bikes sit between $45 and $97. The 700 cc Benelli TRK 702X starts at $45, but that is its long-term tier; a single day costs $100. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 starts at $65. The Honda XL650 Transalp, an older bike from the 2003–2005 model years, is $80. The 650 cc BMW F650GS and the 450 cc CFMoto 450MT both start at $91, and the 500 cc Jawa RVM 500 Aventura at $97. The CFMoto 450MT has the widest quote range of the group: about $150 a day for two days in one search and about $140 in another offer, against the $91 starting rate. For a first trip into the mountains on a modest budget, this band offers the best ratio of capability to price. Ask about luggage and the model year before you compare quotes.

Enduro bikes for gravel and mountain tracks

Seven enduro models start between $75 and $150 a day. They are aimed at gravel, dirt and steep tracks rather than long motorway stretches.

Light enduros: DR-Z 400, CRF300L Rally and KTM 390 Enduro R

The Suzuki DR-Z 400 is the cheapest enduro at $75 a day, and one company offers examples no older than 2019. The Honda CRF300L Rally starts at $97, with another offer at about $140. The KTM 390 Enduro R, with 399 cc and 45 hp, starts at $100 a day and drops to $80 a day from the sixth day. These three are the entry point to off-road riding and cost less than most adventure tourers.

700 cc singles: KTM 690, Husqvarna 701 and GasGas ES 700

The big singles start at $100 to $110 a day. The KTM 690 Enduro R and the GasGas ES 700 both begin at $100, and the Husqvarna 701 Enduro at $110. Short bookings cost noticeably more: two-day prices run about $150 a day for the KTM 690 and about $140 for the Husqvarna, and the Husqvarna offer came with a 300 km daily mileage limit. If you rent a motorcycle in Tbilisi for a long mountain loop, that limit can be the deciding factor, so check it before you compare.

Kove 450 Rally

The Kove 450 Rally is the most expensive enduro at $150 a day. It costs about the same as a large adventure tourer. It makes sense for an experienced off-road rider; for most trips a 400 cc or 690 cc enduro covers the same ground for less.

Adventure tourers: BMW GS, Africa Twin, KTM and Kove

Adventure bikes are the core of the Tbilisi market: 24 of the 40 models belong to this class, and the 18 priced at $100 a day or more are listed below. They are built for multi-day trips that mix highway with mountain roads, for example towards Kazbegi or Tusheti.

The BMW GS line

Seven BMW models cover almost the whole price range of the class. The F650GS starts at $91, the F700GS at $110 and the F800GS at $120. The F800GS Adventure, with 85 hp, starts at $110. The F850GS is $160 and the F850GS Adventure, the most expensive bike in the class, $170. The 1,200 cc R1200GS Adventure, the largest GS on offer, starts at $150. If BMW GS rental in Tbilisi is the goal, the F800GS and F800GS Adventure give the best balance of size and price, at $40 to $60 a day below the F850GS pair.

Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha

The Honda NX500 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT both start at $110 on a seven-day term. The Honda XL750 Transalp, with a seat height of 84 cm, starts at $150. The Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin or Africa Twin Adventure Sports starts at $160 on a seven-day term, and another offer quotes the Africa Twin at $150 a day. The Yamaha Tenere 700 / XTZ 690 ABS starts at $150.

KTM, CFMoto and Kove

The KTM 790 Adventure starts at $110 and the smaller KTM 390 Adventure at $120. The CFMoto 800MT X is $110 and its sibling, the CFMoto 700MT, $140. The CFMoto 800MT X also appears at about $170 a day for a two-day search, which shows again how much the term moves the figure. Two Kove models round out the group: the Kove 525X at $140 and the Kove 800X Pro at $150, both offered with unlimited mileage.

The outlier: Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

The one superbike in the range, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, starts at $270 a day, and another offer for a ZX-10 sits at about $320. It is the most expensive motorcycle on this page by a wide margin and is meant for paved roads only.

Licence, age, deposit and helmet

Rental companies in Tbilisi state their rules differently, so the points below are the ones riders meet most often, not a single universal policy.

Licence category

Georgian licences use category AM for mopeds and A1 for light motorcycles up to 125 cc. Of the 40 models on this page, only the Kawasaki Z125 Pro falls within the 125 cc limit; every other bike is larger, so an A1 licence does not cover it. Bring a licence with a motorcycle category that covers the engine size you plan to ride, and ask the company in advance which licences it accepts.

Minimum age

One Tbilisi company sets the minimum age at 24 for its adventure bikes, and 24 is a safe assumption when you plan a trip on a large GS or Africa Twin. State your age and years of riding when you send a request.

Deposit and payment

A refundable deposit is standard. Common figures are $300 and $400, returned when the motorcycle comes back in its original condition. Some companies accept both cash and card. Ask whether the deposit is taken in cash, blocked on a card or both, and in what currency.

Helmet and riding gear

A helmet is mandatory for both the rider and the passenger on any motorcycle, scooter or moped in Georgia. If you do not travel with your own, rent one together with the bike; as noted above, single items cost about $7 to $12 a day and a full adventure kit about $33.

Key points before you book

Six figures to keep in mind

  • Day rate: the 40 models start between $37 and $270 a day, with the middle at $105.
  • Term: the same bike can cost $100 for one day and $45 a day past 30 days; seven-day tariffs on adventure tourers run about $50 to $60 a day below the one- or two-day price.
  • Class: 24 adventure and 7 enduro models make up most of the range; road bikes start from $37.
  • Licence: only one model, the 125 cc Kawasaki Z125 Pro, fits within the A1 category.
  • Deposit: expect about $300 to $400, refundable.
  • Extras: gear from about $7 a day per item or $33 for a full kit; a Kutaisi handover adds about $100.

How to send a request that gets a usable quote

Name the model or the class, your exact dates and the number of days, and where you want to collect and return the bike. Add your age, licence category and riding experience. Ask in the same message for the deposit, the mileage terms, the price of gear and any one-way surcharge. Two quotes that answer all of this can be compared line by line; two bare day rates cannot. With those details fixed, motorcycle rental in Tbilisi comes down to matching the class of bike to the roads you plan to ride.

FAQ

How much does it cost to rent a motorcycle in Tbilisi?

Starting day rates for 40 models run from $37 for the Kawasaki Eliminator 450/500 to $270 for the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. The median is $105 a day, and 20 of the 40 models start at $100 or less. These are starting prices, often tied to a longer rental term, so a quote for one or two days can be higher.

Is it cheaper to rent a motorbike for a week or a month?

Yes, usually much cheaper per day. The Benelli TRK 702X and Honda NC750S cost $100 for one day and $45 a day past 30 days. Adventure tourers such as the Honda NX500 drop from about $170 a day for one or two days to $110 from seven days, and some companies take 20% off rentals longer than six days.

What kinds of motorcycles can I rent in Tbilisi?

Mostly adventure and enduro bikes: 24 of the 40 models are adventure tourers and seven are enduros. The rest are two 200 cc dual-sports, two naked bikes, two sport bikes, a naked tourer, a cruiser and a 200 cc standard bike.

Can I rent a BMW GS in Tbilisi?

Yes. Seven BMW models are available, from the F650GS at $91 a day through the F700GS ($110), F800GS ($120) and F800GS Adventure ($110) to the F850GS ($160), F850GS Adventure ($170) and the 1,200 cc R1200GS Adventure ($150).

What licence do I need to ride a rental motorcycle in Georgia?

Georgian licences use AM for mopeds and A1 for light motorcycles up to 125 cc. Only one model on this page, the Kawasaki Z125 Pro, fits within 125 cc; for every other bike you need a licence with a motorcycle category that covers a larger engine. Check with the company which licences it accepts before you book.

What is the minimum age to rent a motorcycle in Tbilisi?

One Tbilisi company sets the minimum at 24 for its adventure bikes. Plan on 24 if you want a large GS or Africa Twin, and state your age and riding experience in your request.

How much is the deposit?

Common deposits are $300 and $400, refunded when the bike comes back in its original condition. Ask whether it is taken in cash or blocked on a card.

Is a helmet required and can I rent riding gear?

A helmet is mandatory for both rider and passenger on any motorcycle, scooter or moped in Georgia. Gear can be rented: single items cost about $7 to $12 a day each and a full adventure kit about $33 a day.

Can I pick up a bike in Tbilisi and return it in Kutaisi?

It is possible with some companies, but a Kutaisi handover adds about $100 per motorcycle. Ask for the one-way surcharge before comparing quotes.

Is mileage unlimited on rental motorcycles?

It depends on the offer. One Husqvarna 701 Enduro offer caps mileage at 300 km a day, while the Kove 525X and Kove 800X Pro are offered with unlimited mileage. Ask about the limit, especially for a long mountain trip.
