The single Premium car, the Mini Cooper S, runs ฿6,400 per day with a 2.0 L, 192 hp petrol engine.

The multipliers are fixed, so a longer booking simply costs less per day.

Hatchback rental in Bangkok runs from ฿700 to ฿6,400 per day, with weekly bookings charged at the daily rate × 6 and monthly bookings at the daily rate × 21. That puts the cheapest weekly term at ฿4,200 and the cheapest monthly term at ฿14,700. The multipliers are fixed for every car on this page, from the Nissan March up to the Mini Cooper S, so a longer booking always costs less per day than a short one. Rental is available from 1 day, which suits a weekend in the city as well as a month-long stay.

Prices by class and model

The gaps between neighbouring models are often under ฿100 — the Honda Brio and the Mitsubishi Mirage sit at the same ฿1,150, and three cars share ฿1,250. Pick on the specification you actually need, not on the smallest number in the column. Economy opens at ฿700, Electric at ฿1,050 and Premium at ฿6,400 per day.

What is included in the price

• VAT 7%: already inside every figure in the table above, so the daily rate is what you pay for the car.
• Rental period: available from 1 day, with no minimum week.
• Longer terms: weekly at the daily rate × 6 and monthly at the daily rate × 21, applied to the model you choose.
• Security hold: a bank card in the main driver's name, with the amount set out in the rental agreement.
• Delivery: the address, date and time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed, and any delivery fee is agreed when booking.

If a delivery fee applies to your address, the manager names it before you confirm, not after.

The choice comes down to two questions: what the car runs on and how many people it has to carry.

Petrol or electric for city driving

Our hatchback fleet runs on petrol or electricity, with electric models from ฿1,050 per day. Petrol covers eight of the thirteen cars — Nissan March at ฿700, Suzuki Swift at ฿900, Toyota Yaris at ฿950, MG 3 at ฿1,000, Honda Brio and Mitsubishi Mirage at ฿1,150, Honda Jazz at ฿1,250 and the Mini Cooper S at ฿6,400. The electric side starts with the BYD Dolphin at ฿1,050 and runs through the GWM ORA Good Cat and Nissan Leaf at ฿1,250 and the MG 4 Electric at ฿1,500 to the Mini Cooper SE at ฿4,700. Power splits the same way: the Mirage makes 78 hp, the MG 4 Electric 170 hp, the Cooper S 192 hp.

Agreeing the delivery with a manager

Rent-Trip delivers the car to any address in the city and to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang Airport (DMK). You give the manager the address, the date and the time; we confirm them and the booking is fixed. Delivery anywhere else is arranged case by case and is not promised on the site. Tell us the flight number and the terminal when you book.

What to have ready at hand-over

• Home driving licence: your national licence, valid and in your name.
• International Driving Permit: required alongside the home licence for visitors from outside ASEAN, under the 1949 Geneva Convention.

Before you drive away

The car comes clean with a full tank, and hire is available from 1 day. Traffic in Thailand keeps to the left and every car in the fleet is right-hand drive, so the first ten minutes are worth spending in the car park rather than in traffic. Ask the manager to show you where the M-Flow transponder question stands for your car — it is worth knowing at hand-over whether a tag is attached. The delivery address, the date and the time stay as agreed with the manager; if a flight slips, call before the agreed window closes rather than after.

Documents for hatchback rental in Bangkok

A foreign visitor renting a hatchback here drives on a home licence plus an International Driving Permit, and carries a passport and a bank card in the main driver's name.

What a foreign visitor needs at the wheel

• International Driving Permit: issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention, which Thailand recognises; section 42 bis of the Motor Vehicle Act governs the requirement.
• ASEAN nationals: citizens of ASEAN countries may drive on their national licence, with no permit needed.

• Home driving licence and International Driving Permit: both, unless you hold an ASEAN licence.

The minimum driver age is 21, and conditions for drivers under 25 and for premium classes are set out in the rental agreement. Since 30 December 2025 a car rental agreement in Thailand is a contract controlled by the OCPB: it is written in Thai, and all fees and penalties are disclosed in it. The licence alone does not satisfy the check — the pair has to travel together.

Traffic-camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter, so keep the agreement to hand if a notice follows you home.

Driving a hatchback rental in Bangkok

Thailand drives on the left, and every car in our fleet is right-hand drive — the same layout Thai drivers use daily. If you have only ever driven on the right, the first ten minutes feel strange, then the roundabouts and left turns start to make sense. Book an automatic, and the gearbox stops being a second thing to think about while you learn the lanes.

Tollways and how they are paid

• Motorway 7 to Pattaya: 149.3 km from Bangkok, 125.865 km of it to Pattaya. A car pays ฿25 from Lat Krabang to Bang Bo, ฿100 to Pong and ฿105 to Pattaya.
• Motorway 9: the outer Kanchanaphisek ring uses M-Flow — a camera reads your plate and the bill follows. Without registration you have two days to pay; from day three the tariff doubles, then adds a 10× tariff penalty.
• Don Muang Tollway: 28.1 km above Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, roughly ฿60–115 for a car.
• M-Flow and the renter: Ask at hand-over whether a tag is linked to your car, and settle anything outstanding before you fly.

Fines, cameras and the airport run

Traffic-camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter, so a speed camera on Motorway 7 reaches you through us rather than at the roadside. The police fine for driving without an International Driving Permit is ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim — carry the permit with your home licence. On the airport run, Suvarnabhumi sits about 25 km from downtown and Don Mueang 27.4 km by road from Democracy Monument; both are inside our delivery area. We deliver to any address in the city and to Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Don Mueang (DMK), and the address, date and time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed.

Insurance and the rental agreement

Insurance here comes in two layers, and both are attached to the car rather than to you. Compulsory motor insurance, known locally as Por Ror Bor, covers injury to third parties and sits on every registered vehicle. First-class (Class 1) insurance covers damage to the car itself. What Class 1 includes in detail, and the excess you carry if the car comes back damaged, are set out in the agreement — we do not quote a figure for either.

That document is a Thai-language contract supervised by the OCPB, and since 30 December 2025 every fee and penalty has to be disclosed inside it. Read it before you drive away. Who pays for what after a scrape in a car park is answered in that document, not in a conversation at hand-over.

What the paperwork settles before you leave:

First, a camera fine is issued to the car owner — that is us — and re-invoiced to the renter, so a ticket from Motorway 7 can reach you after you have flown home. Second, an insurer may refuse a claim if you were driving without a valid International Driving Permit alongside your home licence, which is why the paperwork matters more than the daily rate.
