Honda Models for Rent

The Rent-Trip rental fleet has two Honda models: Civic and Accord. Both cars are hybrid, with automatic transmission and 5-seat interiors, so the choice is reduced to two questions: which body type suits you better and what budget have you allocated for the rental.

Honda Civic: Hybrid sedan for the city

The Civic is a C-class sedan with a 2.0 L hybrid engine producing 184 hp. In our comfort package, the car is offered with an automatic transmission and seats 5. The rental price is 2,600 TL including VAT. This car is sufficient for daily commutes in Şişli or Kadıköy and weekend getaways to Sapanca: the hybrid engine saves fuel in city traffic, and the sedan is suitable for parking in the narrow streets of Fatih or Beşiktaş. In our experience, the Civic is often chosen by couples and small families who plan routes on both sides of the city and do not want to overpay for a higher class.

Honda Accord: Business sedan with a comfort margin

The Accord is a D-class sedan with the same 2.0 L (184 hp) hybrid engine, automatic transmission, and 5-seat interior. The daily rental fee is 3,400 TL including VAT. The car is noticeably more spacious in the back than the Civic, so it is preferred for long trips to Bursa over the Osmangazi Bridge or towards Edirne. A higher body class means stricter requirements for driver age and experience - details are set out in the rental agreement. The Accord is also suitable for business trips in Levent and Maslak, where the car's prestigious appearance matters.

Comparison of models

Both cars are hybrid sedans with the same powertrain; the difference lies in cabin size and price. If you are mostly planning city routes, the Civic will meet your needs without overpaying; it makes sense to get the Accord if you have highways ahead and need extra space for passengers. On weekly or longer rentals, the daily rate decreases - we will cover this below.

Prices and Rates

The cost of renting a Honda in Istanbul depends on the model and duration: daily rates start at 2,600 TRY, and the daily cost decreases for weekly and monthly rentals. All prices on the Rent-Trip website are inclusive of taxes—VAT included—so the total amount does not change at payment.

Daily rates including VAT

The Honda Civic rents for 2,600 TL per day, and the Honda Accord for 3,400 TL per day, with VAT (20%) included in both prices. The 800 TL difference stems from the vehicle class: the Accord is a business sedan with a more spacious interior and a different trim level, while the Civic is a versatile option for city and weekend trips. Both models are hybrids with automatic transmission and a 2.0 L engine producing 184 hp; as a result, fuel consumption remains reasonable in local traffic even with the air conditioning on. On long routes like Sapanca or Bursa, the hybrid system saves a noticeable amount of fuel - the difference compared to a regular petrol engine is noticeable after 100 km. When booking, ask which model is available for your desired dates: in high season, the Accord is often the first to sell out.

Weekly and monthly: Rent-Trip rates

• Weekly (×6): Pay for six days at prices starting from 15,600 TL for the Civic and 20,400 TL for the Accord, and the seventh day is free.
• Monthly (×21): Pay for 21 days at prices starting from 54,600 TL for the Civic and 71,400 TL for the Accord, and the rest of the month is a bonus.
• Daily calculation: In weekly rental, the Civic comes to 2,229 TL per day, and in monthly rental to 1,820 TL per day; this is 14% and 30% cheaper than the daily rate, respectively.
• Long-term: If you stay longer than three weeks, the monthly rate is more advantageous than doing two weeks plus an extension.

2. The basic rental fee includes VAT and compulsory traffic insurance — the mandatory insurance that covers every vehicle registered in Turkey by law. Additional conditions — the deposit amount, daily mileage limit, and extended insurance options — are written in the rental agreement (stated in the contract), so it is necessary to read the section on financial liability before signing. HGS is not included in the fee for bridge and tunnel crossings: either the tag is pre-installed on the vehicle or it is issued separately, and the fee is charged to your card after you return the vehicle.

Delivery and Pickup

Renting a Honda in Istanbul does not start at a rental office—Rent-Trip has no physical office, so we bring the car to wherever suits you: your hotel, apartment, or the airport. Key handover takes 15–20 minutes: we arrive, draw up the contract, show you the car, and record its condition. Delivery to both the European and Asian sides of the city and to both airports is included in the rental terms—no extra charge.

Delivery to Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW)

Istanbul Airport (IST) is located in Arnavutköy on the European side, while Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) is in Pendik on the Asian side, so please specify the terminal and flight number when making a reservation. We greet you at the arrivals area with a name sign, check your documents, and hand over the keys to the hybrid Civic or Accord right away—no need to transfer to an office. If your flight is delayed, we adjust to the new arrival time: just message us, and the car will be waiting for you. On departure, we pick up the car directly from the terminal—you hand over the keys and head to check-in, while we handle the parking matters. For early flights from SAW, it is convenient to pick up the car the evening before and keep it overnight—easier than catching a taxi at 5 AM.

Delivery to city districts

• European side: Şişli, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu, Fatih, Bakırköy, Levent, Maslak - we bring it within 1-2 hours after reservation confirmation.
• Asian side: Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Ataşehir, Maltepe, Ümraniye, Pendik - delivery takes a bit longer due to the Bosphorus crossing.
• Hotels and apartments: we hand the keys at the reception or park the vehicle at the entrance — inform us in advance about your hotel's parking rules.
• Specific addresses: ... just specify the full address and floor — the courier will come up and hand over the keys personally.
• 1. Urgent delivery: 2. If you need the car within 2-3 hours, call us - we will find the nearest available car and speed up delivery.

3. When the vehicle is delivered, you receive a rental agreement containing all conditions from the insurance deposit amount to the daily mileage limit. These parameters differ for each reservation, so they are stated in the contract, not in advertising materials.

Documents Required for Rental

To rent a Honda Civic or Honda Accord, foreign visitors need only present a passport, a national driver's license, and a credit card issued in the main driver's name. Documents are checked at vehicle delivery—this process takes about 10 minutes, after which the rental agreement is signed.

Passport, Driver's License, and Driving Permit

• Passport: The original document with a valid stamp upon entry into Turkey is required — the border mark is stamped on the passport upon arrival at IST or SAW.
• Driver's license: We accept national driver's licenses issued in the Latin alphabet.
• International Driving Permit (IDP): Required for licenses issued in non-Latin alphabets, such as Arabic, Georgian, or Armenian.
• Age and driving experience: Conditions vary by vehicle class; the applicable terms for Civic and Accord are specified in the contract.

Credit Card and Insurance

A credit card issued in the main driver's name is required for the deposit block — we cannot provide payment security with debit cards. Turkish regulations mandate compulsory traffic insurance covering every rented vehicle. Insurance details beyond the mandatory coverage and the exact deposit amount are set out in the rental agreement.

At vehicle delivery, the body condition and fuel level are recorded in the delivery-receipt report—we recommend you check these together before signing to avoid disputes at return.

HGS and Toll Roads

Bridge and highway crossings in Istanbul operate with the HGS system; with your rented Honda Civic or Accord, you pay for all crossings in and out of the city through this system. HGS is an electronic toll system linked to the vehicle's license plate and is mandatory on the city's two bridges and the Eurasia Tunnel. When you take delivery of the car, you must ensure that the HGS balance is sufficient; otherwise, the crossing fee is penalized by four times.

How Does HGS Work?

In Turkey, all bridge and highway crossings are made with HGS (Fast Pass System). The HGS tag assigned to the vehicle plate is detected by readers at toll booths, and the fee is automatically deducted. The Honda Civic or Honda Accord you rent from Rent-Trip comes with an HGS tag; no further action is expected from you. Tolls are charged to the vehicle plate, and all crossings during the rental period are calculated as specified in the contract. The two bridges in the city, the Eurasia Tunnel, and the ring roads are covered by HGS; there is no cash payment option.

Bridge and Tunnel Tolls

Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge is the third bridge connecting the European and Asian sides and, with a toll of 110 TL, is located on the city's northern line. The Eurasia Tunnel is an alternative connection passing under the sea, costing 280 TL during the day and 140 TL at night; the night tariff applies between 00:00 and 06:00. The Osmangazi Bridge, on the other hand, is used when heading from Istanbul towards Bursa and, at 1,170 TL, has the highest toll. For urban use, you can prefer the YSS Bridge or the Eurasia Tunnel; both work with HGS.

Unauthorized Toll Passage and Penalties

When the HGS balance is insufficient or the toll is not paid, a "violation passage" record is created. In this case, the toll is penalized fourfold, and the penalty is recorded against the vehicle's license plate. For violation passages made with a vehicle rented from Rent-Trip, the penalty amount is set out in the rental agreement; therefore, we recommend checking your HGS balance before a long journey. When leaving the city, especially on high-fee crossings like the Osmangazi Bridge, insufficient balance is common; checking your balance before starting your trip is the most practical way to avoid penalties.

Out-of-Town Trips

Honda Civic and Accord offer sufficient comfort and hybrid efficiency for weekend routes around the city. When heading out of town, you need to plan where to pick up your car and think about traffic and HGS tolls in advance; we adjust delivery according to this plan.

Şile, Ağva and Sapanca

• Şile: The district on the Black Sea coast takes about 1.5 hours from the center; leaving early on a weekend morning helps avoid traffic.
• Ağva: East of Şile, reachable in the same travel time; riverside restaurants and walking trails are popular.
• Sapanca: It takes about 2 hours to reach from the city center; the lake area is ideal for a weekend getaway with its hotels and breakfast spots.
• Accommodation plan: If you want to stay overnight in Sapanca, the trunk capacity is 520 liters in the Civic and 530 liters in the Accord — enough space for two couples.

For all of these routes, we deliver the vehicle to your address on the European or Asian side; upon return, we also pick it up at the same point.

Bursa and Uludağ

Traveling to Bursa via the Osmangazi Bridge takes about 2.5 hours from Istanbul; the bridge toll is 1,170 TL and is paid with HGS. For the ascent to Uludağ, winter tires or chains may be required—these are not covered by compulsory traffic insurance, and having them ready in the vehicle is set out in the rental agreement. In summer, you can use the same route for hiking and a teleferik visit to Uludağ; an automatic transmission hybrid engine provides driving comfort on slopes. On weekend return traffic, the Osmangazi Bridge gets busy; we recommend leaving early in the morning rather than returning late on Sunday evening.

Before a long journey, it is useful to check your HGS balance; if the toll is unpaid, the penalty can be up to four times the fee.

Rental Period and Price Comparison

When determining the rental period for a Honda Civic or Accord, knowing the difference between daily, weekly, and monthly rates directly affects your budget. Since the daily unit price decreases for longer rentals, there is a significant cost difference between a weekend getaway and a one-month business trip plan.

Daily, Weekly and Monthly Comparison

In weekly rental, you pay for six days; the last day of the seven-day period is included in the rate. For monthly rental, 21 days' worth is charged, and the remaining days incur no extra cost. If you have a business trip or long-term accommodation plan lasting more than two weeks, opting for the monthly rate instead of using the weekly rate twice reduces the daily cost. While daily rental flexibility is advantageous for city use, weekly packages ease your planning for routes like Sapanca or Bursa.

Parking and Traffic Practices

Knowing parking and traffic rules while driving in Istanbul prevents unnecessary fines and time loss with your rented Honda. During rush hours, moving on the main arteries on the European side can be slower than crossing to the Asian side; therefore, route planning should be done according to the time of day.

• Peak hours: On weekdays, between 08:00-10:00 and 17:00-20:00, traffic is heavy around the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Eurasia Tunnel; consider public transport or alternative times.
• Parking rules: On-street parking spaces charge an hourly fee; hotel parking typically ranges from 150-300 TL per day and is more advantageous in terms of security.
• HGS passages: There is no cash payment at bridge and tunnel crossings; if the balance is insufficient, the penalty increases fourfold, so checking before setting off on intercity journeys is essential.
• Fuel stations: Hybrid models have low petrol consumption; on intercity routes, Shell or Opet stations are common, so don't set off on the return without filling the tank.
• Parking security: When leaving the car in an overnight parking lot, keep valuables in the trunk; in case of window breakage, insurance coverage is specified in the contract.

When returning the car, do not forget to bring the fuel level back to the level you received it; otherwise, the difference is calculated according to the fuel policy in the contract.
