It operates on working days, Monday to Friday, and a foreign-plate car must be pre-registered in the Registre metropolità de vehicles estrangers i altres vehicles autoritzats a les zones de baixes emissions before it enters. Neither carries a diesel or petrol tank, so the lleno a lleno fuel rule does not apply to them: you return the car with the charge you agreed. Weekly rates on the e-208 start at €228 (daily rate × 6) and €270 on the e-2008; monthly, €798 and €945.

Charging an electric Peugeot in Barcelona

Paperwork is the part of a Peugeot booking that catches people out, so here is what Spanish law requires, what our agreement sets out, and what you should settle with the manager before the car reaches you.

What you need to drive a Peugeot in Barcelona

• EU/EEA licence: valid in Spain exactly as issued, as long as it has not expired; no international permit is needed for these drivers.
• Non-EU/EEA licence: valid if it is in force and you are old enough for the equivalent Spanish category, though DGT advises getting an International Driving Permit before you travel.
• Licence not in Spanish: accepted either with an official certified translation into Spanish, or if it was issued to the model of Annex 9 of the Geneva Convention or Annex 6 of the Vienna Convention.

Spanish law puts compulsory third-party cover, Seguro Obligatorio de Responsabilidad Civil, into every booking and it applies at all times, with limits of 70,000,000 EUR per incident for personal injury and 15,000,000 EUR for property damage. That policy pays third parties — not the driver, and not the car. Damage to the Peugeot itself sits with you up to the franquicia, the excess, and the amount of it is set out in the rental agreement.
