Weekly and Monthly Rates

Longer bookings are charged at a lower rate per day: weekly from ฿6,000, monthly from ฿21,000. The weekly figure is the daily rate multiplied by six, and the monthly figure is the daily rate multiplied by twenty-one. Both are calculated from the daily price of the car you choose, so the same multipliers apply to an MG 3 and to an MG Maxus 9 — a month in the 7-seat electric MPV is 21 times ฿3,200, and a month in the Economy hatchback is 21 times ฿1,000.

What Is Included and What Is Agreed When Booking

The security hold is taken on a bank card in the main driver's name; the amount is set out in the rental agreement. A delivery fee, if any, is agreed when booking, and the delivery address, date and time are confirmed with a manager before the reservation is fixed. The minimum driver age is 21, and conditions for drivers under 25 and for premium classes are set out in the agreement.

Hand-Over in Practice

Traffic in Thailand keeps to the left and every car in our fleet is right-hand drive, so the first few kilometres feel mirrored if you usually drive on the right. Take the car somewhere quiet before you join Sukhumvit or the expressways — ten minutes in a car park beside your hotel is enough to reset your instincts for mirrors, indicators and lane position.

Bring your passport, your home driving licence and an International Driving Permit. Thailand recognises the 1949 Geneva Convention permit, and section 42 bis of the Motor Vehicle Act requires it alongside your national licence; citizens of ASEAN countries may drive on their national licence instead. Driving without the permit carries a police fine of ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim — a cheap document to carry for the cover it protects.

Compulsory motor insurance (Por Ror Bor) is attached to every registered car and covers injury to third parties. First-class cover handles damage to the MG itself; its terms and the excess are set out in the rental agreement. A bank card in the main driver's name is used for the security hold, and the amount is set out in that same agreement.

Licence and Permit

• Home driving licence: bring the original licence issued in your own country — it is the base document for every hire.
• International Driving Permit: a foreign visitor needs the home licence plus an IDP under the 1949 Geneva Convention, section 42 bis of the Motor Vehicle Act.
• ASEAN citizens: drivers from ASEAN countries may drive on their national licence without an IDP.
• Documents at hand-over: passport, home driving licence, International Driving Permit unless you are an ASEAN citizen, and a bank card in the main driver's name.

Insurance and the Security Hold

VAT 7% is already included in the prices shown, so the daily rate you see is the daily rate you pay. Since 30 December 2025 a car rental agreement is a contract controlled by the OCPB: it is written in Thai, and every fee and penalty is disclosed inside it. Tolls on the Expressways and Motorways

• Payment: cash or an Easy Pass tag; M-PASS is accepted too, and the tags are interchangeable — one tag per car.
• Short hop: a guide figure of ฿50–100 for a passenger car, not an official EXAT rate card.
• Motorway 7 to Pattaya: 149.3 km, with 125.865 km of it to Pattaya; from the Lat Krabang entrance a car pays ฿25 to Bang Bo, ฿100 to Pong and ฿105 to Pattaya.
• Motorway 9: the outer Kanchanaphisek ring runs on M-Flow — a camera reads the plate and the bill follows, no barrier.
• M-Flow rules: without registration you pay within 2 days by plate number; from day 3 the tariff doubles, then tariff plus 2x plus a fine of 10x the tariff.

Parking and City Limits

Speed limits are 80 km/h in built-up areas, 90 km/h outside them, 120 km/h on the motorways, 110 km/h on the expressways and 100 km/h on elevated sections. The Low Emission Zone does not touch you: it applies only to vehicles with six or more wheels on high PM2.5 days, and a passenger MG is not one of them. Camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter — set out in the rental agreement.

Before You Drive Away

• Fuel and charge: note the fuel or charge level at hand-over.

• Longer stays: weekly rates work out at the daily rate multiplied by six, monthly at the daily rate multiplied by twenty-one.
