Two things are worth planning around. First, the Cap de Creus road to the Far de Cap de Creus runs on restricted access in season — daily 9:30–21:30 from July to 13 September — so plan it before 9:30 or take the shuttle. Second, the Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona applies from 15.09.2025 between 7:00 and 20:00, Monday to Friday on working days, covering the area from la Devesa to c. d'Emili Grahit and from c. del Riu Güell to c. del Carme and Barri Vell; cars without a DGT environmental badge and not registered in Girona are restricted, with 24 permitted days a year inside the restricted hours. Motorway driving in Catalonia is now largely free of barriers: the AP-7 between Vila-seca and La Jonquera, the whole Barcelona-Girona-French border corridor, has been toll-free since 01.09.2021, and the C-32 Maresme and C-33 Barcelona-Montmeló followed the same night. The tolls that remain under the Generalitat sit on the C-16 and on the southern C-32 towards Castelldefels-Sitges-El Vendrell, away from the routes you will use here.

Speed limits are 120 km/h on autopista and autovía such as the AP-7, A-2, C-32 and C-33, and 90 km/h on carretera convencional roads like the GI-614, GI-682 and C-260. Drink-driving limits are 0.25 mg/l of breath for general drivers and 0.15 mg/l for those in their first two years, with anything above 0.60 mg/l a criminal offence rather than an administrative fine. A phone held in the hand costs €200 and 6 points, and children under 135 cm need a child restraint — the driver carries the responsibility for that one. Fines drop by 50% if paid within 20 calendar days, which is worth knowing if a camera catches you on a resort approach road.
