Two rules shape every drive here: the low emission zone that now covers the centre, and the paid parking rings that decide where you can leave the car. Fuel is the third cost to plan for.

ZBE València (Zona de Bajas Emisiones) covers 27.8 km², bounded by Ronda Nord, avenidas de Tarongers and Serradora, and Bulevard Sud. From 01.12.2025 the restriction applies only to category A cars — petrol registered before 2001 and diesel before 2006 — that are registered outside the province of Valencia; from 01.01.2027 it extends to category A cars registered outside the city, and from 01.01.2028 it covers all category A vehicles, residents included. Cars carrying a DGT sticker (B, C, ECO or 0) fall outside the category A restriction — that is the practical reason to check the windscreen before you drive off.

Parking and fuel costs

• Zona azul, centro y ensanches: 1.00 EUR for 60 minutes, 1.70 EUR for 120, maximum stay 2 hours.
• Zona azul, resto ciudad: 0.80 EUR for 60 minutes, 1.50 EUR for 120, same 2-hour cap.
• Zona naranja: non-residents pay 2.10 EUR for 60 minutes during rotation hours — Ciutat Vella 9:00–20:00 Monday to Friday, Ruzafa and El Botànic 9:00–19:00, Saturday 9:00–15:00 everywhere.
• Gasolina 95 E5: averages 1.978 EUR per litre across 62 stations in the municipality.
• Gasóleo A: averages 1.923 EUR per litre across 63 stations.

What this means for a day out

For the Albufera run or a longer motorway day, the Tucson has the 1.6 L diesel. AP-7 has been toll-free since 01.01.2020 along the 373.8 km Salou–Alicante stretch, so a day trip towards Dénia or Benidorm adds no péage.
