Hiring a Changan starts at ฿1,250 per day for the L07 and ฿2,300 for the S07, with weekly from ฿7,500 and monthly from ฿26,250. The weekly figure follows daily × 6 and the monthly figure follows daily × 21, which is why a week of the L07 works out at ฿7,500 rather than seven separate daily charges. The same arithmetic applied to the S07 gives ฿13,800 weekly and ฿48,300 monthly. VAT 7% is already inside every price we show, so the number on the booking is the number you pay for the car itself.

Licence and IDP requirements
A foreign visitor needs a home driving licence plus an International Driving Permit issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention, as required by section 42 bis of the Motor Vehicle Act. Police fine for driving without a valid permit runs ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim after an incident, which matters more than the fine itself. Traffic keeps to the left here and every car is right-hand drive, including both Changan Deepal models in our fleet, so the first hour on Sukhumvit or Silom takes getting used to.
Who can drive without an IDP
- ASEAN national licence: citizens of ASEAN countries drive on their national licence, with no permit and no conversion needed.

Charging and the first drive away
Both Changan Deepal models are electric, so the first question after hand-over is where the car gets its power. Plan the first charge before you set off, and ask the manager at booking which connector the car takes. If your delivery point is one of the airports, allow for the drive into town before you plan a charge: Suvarnabhumi sits about 25 km from downtown, Don Mueang about 20.5 km in a straight line. Traffic keeps to the left and every car is right-hand drive, so give yourself the first ten minutes on a quiet soi before joining Sukhumvit or Silom.

Speed limits and what the cameras watch
- Built-up areas: the limit is 80 km/h in built-up areas, and the city counts as one throughout.
- Outside built-up areas: 90 km/h applies once you leave the urban zone.
- Expressways: 110 km/h on the EXAT expressways, and 100 km/h on elevated sections.
- Speed cameras: on Motorway 7 the 120 km/h limit is enforced primarily by speed cameras, and how a camera fine is handled is set out in the rental agreement.
Charging, tolls and parking on an electric car
Charging is the one habit that separates an electric hire from a petrol one: plan the charge around your day rather than topping up when the battery warns you. Toll payment on the EXAT expressways and Motorway 7 is by cash or a tag — Easy Pass and M-PASS both work and the tags are interchangeable, but one car carries one tag, so ask at hand-over which is fitted. The Low Emission Zone does not touch a 5-seat electric car — it applies only to vehicles with 6 or more wheels, and EVs sit on the exemption list anyway.
Insurance, fines and the rental agreement
Every registered car in Thailand carries compulsory motor insurance, known as Por Ror Bor, which pays for injury to third parties. On top of that, Class 1 insurance covers damage to the vehicle itself.
