The ZBE València (Zona de Bajas Emisiones) ordinance was approved by the Comisión de Patrimonio on 21.10.2025 and covers 27.8 km² inside Ronda Nord, the avenidas de Tarongers and Serradora, and Bulevard Sud. Parking inside the city is metered in three zones, and fuel averages €1.978 a litre for Gasolina 95 E5 across 62 stations in the municipality.

Does the low-emission zone apply to a Ford hire car?

Phase one, running 01.12.2025–31.12.2026, limits only stickerless vehicles registered outside the province of Valencia; from 01.01.2027 it widens to stickerless cars registered outside the city, and from 01.01.2028 it covers every category A car including residents. Check the sticker on the windscreen before your first drive into the centre — it decides whether the zone is even your problem. Note that the DANA moratorium keeps the restriction off stickerless cars whose owners are registered in DANA-affected municipalities until 31.12.2027.

Parking a Ford in the city

What catches drivers out

• Speed limits: 120 km/h on autopista and autovía, 90 km/h on a carretera convencional, 50 km/h on a city street with two or more lanes each way and 30 km/h with one.
• Alcohol: 0.25 mg/l of breath for most drivers, 0.15 mg/l in the first two years of holding a licence; above 0.60 mg/l it stops being an administrative matter.
• Child seats: mandatory up to 135 cm, with the standard belt allowed above that height.

The 50% reduction for paying a fine within 20 calendar days applies to most of these, so a ticket left in a drawer doubles in cost.
