The A4 is in the same Premium class but noticeably more powerful with its 2.0-liter 204 hp engine; it rents for 4,400 TL per day. If you want long-distance comfort and overtaking confidence on the highway, the A4's extra 900 TL difference makes itself felt. In our practice, the A3 Sedan is sufficient for city deliveries and day use; but on out-of-town routes like Sapanca or Bursa, most of our customers prefer the A4.

A6 and Q7 Luxury Class

A6, the luxury class sedan: although its 2.0-liter 204-horsepower engine is the same as the A4's, it offers a more spacious interior, a higher equipment level, and noticeably better driving stability on long journeys. Its daily price of 7,600 TL is a reasonable investment for business trips or long routes like Cappadocia that take 8 hours. The Q7, on the other hand, is the fleet's most powerful and spacious member: its 3.0-liter diesel engine produces 231 horsepower, and with its 7-seat SUV body, it targets families and large groups. On long distances, a diesel engine consumes less fuel than a petrol one; the 7 seats also leave extra luggage space for a family of 5. The Q7's daily price of 12,000 TL is the highest among the four models, but there is no other 7-seat option in the fleet. When making your decision, clarify how many people will be traveling and how much luggage you will carry — the 4,400 TL difference between the A6 and Q7 is meaningful not for someone renting a car a few times a month, but for those who prioritize comfort.

Prices and Rates

Audi rental prices at Rent-Trip vary by model class and duration: daily rates cover the entire model range - from 3,500 TL for the A3 Sedan to 12,000 TL for the Q7, VAT included. The longer the rental period, the lower the effective daily rate: a week is calculated as six days, and a month as 21 days. Below we explain how each price is formed and what it includes.

Weekly and Monthly Rental

For weekly rentals, the rate is recalculated: week = 6 days, month = 21 days. For the A3 Sedan, this means 21,000 TL per week and 73,500 TL per month; for the Q7, it's 72,000 TL and 252,000 TL, respectively. The difference between the daily rate and long-term rental saves you up to 30% per day.

Long-term rental is suitable for those who come to this metropolis for a month and want a single contract, a single car, and a fixed price without the hassle of extensions. With 204 hp and a spacious interior, the A6 is often preferred for monthly rentals for business trips between Şişli and Maslak. For families with children, the 7-seat Q7 is more advantageous than two smaller cars.

How Does Airport Delivery Work?

The city's two airports are located on two different sides: IST on the European side, SAW on the Asian side. Rent-Trip has separate landing pages for each airport, so you just need to indicate which airport you arrive at in your reservation. When you share your flight information, we deliver the vehicle at the terminal exit or in the parking lot. In case of flight delays, the car waits for you — no need to call for extra time. On your return, you similarly leave the car at the airport and hand over the keys.

The delivery experience differs on the two sides: since most hotels on the European side are on narrow streets, clarifying the drop-off point in advance makes our job easier. On the Asian side, wide avenues and parking lots offer more convenient delivery options. If you're heading out of town, we recommend scheduling delivery early in the morning - so you can easily head towards the Osmangazi Bridge or Şile direction without getting caught in traffic.

Rental Terms

To rent an Audi in Istanbul, all you need is a passport with an entry stamp, a national driver's license, and a credit card issued in the main driver's name. For premium-class vehicles like the A6 or Q7, the age and driving experience requirements are higher than for compact models; specific terms are set out in the rental agreement.

Documents and Credit Card

To rent an Audi from Rent-Trip, foreign drivers must present a passport with an entry stamp to Turkey and a valid national driver's license. If the license is not issued in the Latin alphabet (for example, Arabic, Georgian, or Russian), an International Driving Permit is required. A credit card is mandatory: the insurance deposit, which varies by car class and is specified in the contract, is blocked on the card. Cash or another person's card is not suitable for this transaction; the card must be in the main driver's name.

Age and License Requirements

Minimum age and driving experience increase with the vehicle class; this is standard practice in the Turkish rental market.

• A3 Sedan: Minimum age 21, driving license experience at least 1 year.
• A4: Age 23, at least 2 years of experience.
• A6: Age 25, at least 3 years of experience.
• Q7: 1. Age — from 27, driving experience — from 5 years.

2. Age and experience requirements for each model are set by the insurance company and specified in the rental agreement. If the driver does not meet the experience requirement, the rental is made under another person in the group who meets the requirements — a practice we often use when delivering the Q7 to families with multiple drivers.

Documents for foreigners

A foreign customer renting an Audi in Istanbul needs four things: a passport with an entry stamp, a national driver's license, a credit card in the main driver's name, and—if the license is not in the Latin alphabet—an international driver's permit (IDP). Which Driver's License Is Valid?

Turkish law requires the driving license to be either in the Latin alphabet or accompanied by an international permit (IDP). Licenses from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and most Asian countries contain Cyrillic, Arabic, or Chinese characters – without an IDP, police can fine you if stopped, and the insurance company has the right to refuse payment in case of an accident. Licenses from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and other EU countries, as well as the USA and the UK, are issued in the Latin alphabet and are valid in Turkey without additional documents.

• Passport: ... must be valid at the time of rental; an entry stamp into Turkey is mandatory — without it, the car will not be delivered.
• Driver's license: national driver's license + IDP, if the document is not in Latin script; it must be valid for at least 6 months.
• Credit card: in the main driver's name, for the insurance deposit; debit cards and cash are not accepted.
• Age limit: ... the minimum age and experience depend on the vehicle class — for the A6 and Q7 the requirements are higher than for the A3; the exact conditions are set out in the rental agreement.

Credit Card and Security Deposit

A credit card is mandatory — the insurance deposit is blocked on the card; the amount varies by model and is specified in the rental agreement. The card must be in the main driver's name: we cannot block funds from someone else's card; this is a restriction of payment systems, not our rule. For a diesel Audi Q7 with 7 seats, the block amount is higher than for an A3 Sedan — this is standard practice among car rental companies in Turkey related to vehicle value. The card must have sufficient balance over the rental fee; otherwise, the block will not be performed. The block is released within 7-14 days after vehicle return; the exact time depends on your card's bank.

HGS and Bridge Crossings

Crossings of motorway bridges and tunnels are charged via the HGS system; during the Audi rental process, the vehicle is delivered with an active HGS account, and tolls are processed as set out in the rental agreement. Since the city spans two sides, you will encounter this system on every journey from Europe to Asia or vice versa.

How Does HGS Work?

HGS is an electronic toll system that works with a tag attached to the vehicle's windshield at bridge and highway toll booths. When the vehicle passes the toll point, the tag is read and the fee is deducted from the relevant account. The HGS tag is defined in Rent-Trip vehicles, so the driver does not need to stop at the booth or pay cash. The tolls are calculated and reported according to the procedure specified in the rental agreement after the rental. For violated passages made without payment, the amount not paid within the due time may be penalized up to four times. Therefore, I recommend you ask the rental company about the status of the HGS balance before using bridges with a rental car.

The night tariff at the Eurasia Tunnel applies only during certain hours. The Osmangazi Bridge is used when leaving Istanbul towards Bursa and Uludağ; going to Sapanca does not require a bridge crossing. For intra-city transport between the two sides of the Bosphorus, the most economical option is usually the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge; for morning trips from the Asian side to the European side, it is worth considering this difference.

In monthly rental, the daily rate of 7,600 TL drops to 159,600 TL when calculated over 21 days; this provides a fixed transportation budget that eliminates hotel transfer and taxi costs. Most of our customers renting cars for business travel prefer the A6 over the A4 because of the balance between luggage space and passenger comfort. If your meeting schedule is busy, we recommend picking up the vehicle a day in advance and planning the route beforehand — crossings between the two sides of Istanbul can take up to 1.5 hours.

Family and Group Travel

The Q7, with its 7 seats and diesel engine, leaves extra luggage space for a family of 5, while consuming less fuel than petrol models over long distances. Its daily rate of TRY 12,000 is the highest among the four models, but there is no other 7-seat alternative in the fleet. For a weekend trip towards Bursa or Uludağ via the Osmangazi Bridge, renting two separate cars for a group of 7 costs more than the Q7. If you need a child seat, just specify it before delivery — it will be ready with the car.

Common Mistakes in the Audi Rental Process

The most common mistakes when renting an Audi center around missing documents and ignoring toll fees. Most of these mistakes surface not at delivery, but when the contract is not read.

Document and Payment Errors

• License not written in the Latin alphabet: Vehicles cannot be picked up without an IDP; police checks lead to administrative fines and insurance issues.
• Someone else's credit card: The security block is made only in the main driver's name; the transaction cannot be completed with someone else's card.
