The two airports are on opposite shores of the metropolis: Istanbul Airport is in Arnavutköy on the European side, and Sabiha Gökçen is in Pendik on the Asian side. No matter where you want to pick up your car, we bring it to the meeting point without any office visit. For weekly rentals, the daily rate is calculated over 6 days: packages starting from 12,600 TL; for monthly rentals, it starts from 44,100 TL with a 21-day multiplier. What's Included in the SUV Price

The SUV price already includes VAT (20%) and compulsory traffic insurance — the mandatory insurance that legally covers every vehicle registered in Turkey. When you pay, you pay exactly the amount you see on the site — no hidden fees or 'surprises' at key handover.

What does price including VAT mean

All prices on the page are stated including value-added tax — VAT included. This means that the Dacia Duster at 2,200 TL per day or the Togg T10X at 3,400 TL per day is the final price, and the amount in the contract is the same as the price on the site. In the Turkish rental sector, the opposite method is often used: the display price is without tax, and 20% is added at payment. At Rent-Trip, there's no such mechanism: daily, weekly, and monthly rates already include VAT, so you don't need to budget extra for tax when making a reservation. By law, VAT is charged on every car rental transaction in the country, so another operator's low 'tax-free' price almost always means an additional payment when you meet the car.

Insurance and contract terms

Compulsory traffic insurance — compulsory financial liability insurance — applies to every vehicle in Turkey and is included in the rental fee, so you do not need to pay separately. What exactly the policy covers beyond the mandatory protection, the deductible conditions, and the renter's liability limits are set out in the rental agreement. When you take delivery of the SUV, we record the condition of the body and interior in the delivery-return report to avoid disputes about scratches or wheel damage at return. Please note: for electric vehicles Togg T10X and BYD Atto 3, the contract specifies the return procedure with a certain battery charge level — you should read this clause before signing, not at a gas station before returning the vehicle.

Petrol, Diesel, Hybrid, or Electric

The choice of powertrain determines both the character of the journey and the fuel budget. In our fleet's SUVs, all four options are available: from economical diesel to the fully electric Togg T10X.

Diesel or petrol?

In this class, there is only one diesel option: the Dacia Duster with a 1.5 L engine and 115 hp; we rent it for 2,200 TL per day. It is advantageous over long distances: fuel consumption is lower than petrol SUVs, and torque is safer on long slopes. Petrol versions make up the majority of the fleet: Opel Mokka (1.2 L, 130 hp), Peugeot 2008 (1.2 L, 130 hp), Renault Captur (1.3 L, 140 hp), Nissan Qashqai (1.3 L, 158 hp), Volkswagen T-Roc (1.5 L, 150 hp), Škoda Kamiq (1.0 L, 110 hp), and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (1.6 L, 147 hp). They are calmer at low revs, but in the city the difference is barely noticeable.

Diesel: ... suitable for routes over 400 km per day — Sapanca, Bursa, or Cappadocia. Petrol: Versatile for city and short trips, with more stations, engines quieter at idle.

If you're only planning the city and nearby areas like Şile, get petrol — the fuel difference won't cover the rental difference.

Hybrid SUV advantages

Our hybrids: Toyota C-HR (1.8 L, 140 hp), Hyundai Tucson (1.6 L, 180 hp), Kia Sportage (1.6 L, 180 hp), and Ford Kuga (2.5 L, 190 hp). In this traffic, they are noticeably more economical than petrol models: the electric motor runs at start and low speeds, and the internal combustion engine only kicks in on acceleration. In the city, a hybrid consumes 25-30% less fuel than a comparable petrol SUV; on the highway the difference narrows. The Tucson and Sportage, at 3,200 TL, are the most powerful cars in the fleet after the electric ones; 180 hp is enough for safe overtaking on the O-7 and E-80 motorways. The C-HR at 2,900 TL is a compromise: hybrid economy in a compact body.

Electric SUV: Togg T10X and BYD Atto 3

Electric vehicles — Togg T10X at 3,400 TRY per day and BYD Atto 3 at 3,300 TRY per day. The Togg has 218 hp, the BYD 204 hp; both are automatic and have enough range for a day in the city and a trip to Sapanca. Charging in the megacity — a fast-charging network along main roads and shopping malls; at night you can charge from a standard outlet at the hotel. We don't recommend an electric vehicle for a trip to Cappadocia — on the roughly 8-hour route, fast-charging infrastructure outside the city is sparse and would add extra stops. In the city and on short trips, an electric vehicle is cheaper to operate: the cost per kilometer on electricity is lower than on gasoline, and the difference becomes noticeable on a few-day rental.

The upper limit of 3,400 TL/day belongs to the Togg T10X: the Turkish electric car with 218 hp. We update our fleet seasonally, so the exact model for your dates is confirmed at booking; if the car you want is unavailable, we offer the closest alternative in the same price range.

Weekly and monthly rental

• Weekly: 6 days from the daily rate: from 12,600 TL for the Dacia Duster up to 20,400 TL for the Togg T10X; the seventh day is given to you as a route bonus.
• Monthly: 21 days from the daily rate: from 44,100 TL for the Duster up to 71,400 TL for the Togg; advantageous for long business trips or spending the winter in the city.
• VAT included: Taxes are already included in the weekly and monthly calculations; there are no additional charges at delivery.

For rentals longer than a week, we recommend hybrid models: Toyota C-HR at 2,900 TL per day or Hyundai Tucson at 3,200 TL per day. In city use, a hybrid consumes noticeably less petrol than a pure petrol SUV, and the daily price difference is recovered from fuel savings over 3-4 days of active driving on both sides of the city.

Which SUV fits which journey

Compact models like the Mokka or Kamiq are more practical in traffic and narrow streets, while full-size options like the Qashqai or Tucson offer power reserve on the highway. Don't match the car to the route, but the route to the car — we choose the car by the route.

City and weekend getaway

• Opel Mokka: 130 hp petrol automatic crossover — an option where maneuverability stands out on daily routes in Şişli, Beşiktaş, and Kadıköy.
• Hyundai Bayon: 100 hp compact automatic — the most economical alternative for short distances and shopping mall parking lots on the Asian side.
• Škoda Kamiq: 110 hp and higher ground clearance than a hatchback — suitable for weekend getaways to Şile or Ağva where the final kilometers are on dirt roads.
• Renault Captur: 140 hp — the sweet spot for a couple with a full trunk for a Sapanca weekend, about two hours from the center.

Within the city, we recommend front-wheel-drive crossovers up to 4.3 meters: they find parking more easily in Bosphorus lots and consume less in stop-and-go traffic. For trips outside the city, choose a car with automatic transmission and cruise control — on the Bursa highway, this significantly reduces fatigue.

Long journeys and family travel

If you're traveling with five people, choose a model with a real trunk capacity starting from 400 liters — not all of the family's suitcases will fit in a Kamiq or Bayon. On routes exceeding 300 kilometers per day, it is more advantageous than a hybrid petrol: the consumption difference on the highway reaches two to three liters per 100 kilometers. Before setting off on a long trip, make sure the vehicle has an HGS device for bridge crossings — otherwise, crossing the Osmangazi Bridge could result in a fine.

Rental Documents and Conditions

To rent an SUV in Istanbul, foreigners need four documents: a passport with an entry stamp, a national driver's license, and a credit card issued in the main driver's name. If the license is not written in the Latin alphabet, an international driver's permit (IDP) is also required. Age and driving experience affect model choice—requirements increase with vehicle class, and the exact limits are set out in the rental agreement.

Documents for foreign drivers

A passport with an entry stamp confirms the date of arrival in Turkey — without it, no rental is possible. A driver's license is accepted if it is valid and issued in the country of permanent residence; for licenses in Arabic, Cyrillic, or hieroglyphic script, an IDP with a translation is mandatory. A credit card is blocked in the name of the main driver — another person's card, even a spouse's, is not acceptable for the insurance deposit. Rent-Trip fixes all these conditions in the contract — the one signed at vehicle delivery; deposit and mileage clauses are also specified there and explained by the manager before signing.

Age, license and credit card

In Turkey, the minimum age for the renter is 21, but for SUV classes above compact crossover this threshold rises: two years of driving experience for the Toyota C-HR or Nissan Qashqai, three years for the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage. The check is simple: at booking we compare the license issue date and the main driver's age, so there are no surprises at the meeting. The credit card must have sufficient limit for the block – the amount depends on the model and duration and is stated in the contract, not on the site. If the card is issued in the name of a legal entity, clarify the possibility of use in advance – some banks require a power of attorney for the employee. In practice, about 5% of SUV reservations are canceled due to a wrongly chosen card or insufficient experience – check both points before confirming the order; this will save time at car delivery.

Delivery and Return in Istanbul

We deliver your rented SUV to any point in the city—from your hotel in Sultanahmet to your home in Esenyurt—and pick it up where it is convenient for you. Rent-Trip has no physical office, so the meeting with the car takes place at the address you specify during booking: on the street, in front of a shopping mall, or in a residential complex's parking lot. Car delivery takes 20-30 minutes: we check the documents, record the condition of the body and interior in a handover report, and explain how the multimedia system works. Return works the same way—you leave the car at the agreed point, we inspect it and close the rental.

Delivery to Istanbul and Sabiha Gökçen airports

• Istanbul Airport (IST): we deliver the vehicle at the arrival area on the European side, in the Arnavutköy district — we reach the terminal ramp from the O-7 motorway in 15 minutes.
• Sabiha Gokcen (SAW): We meet on the Asian side, in Pendik — the drive to the terminal via the O-4 highway takes about 20 minutes excluding traffic.
• Night flights: Delivery is possible at any hour of the day, but for flights after midnight, allow 20-30 minutes waiting time at the exit.

If you fly into Istanbul Airport (IST) and return from Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), no problem: we deliver the car to either airport regardless of your starting point. On the day of your flight, schedule delivery 2.5-3 hours before departure—this time is sufficient for inspection, paperwork, and travel to the terminal.

Meeting point on the European and Asian sides

The city is divided into two continents, and we operate on both. We deliver vehicles on the European side in Şişli, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu, Fatih, Bakırköy, Levent, Maslak, Sarıyer, and Esenyurt; on the Asian side in Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Ataşehir, Maltepe, Pendik, and Ümraniye. Crossing the Bosphorus bridges or the Eurasia Tunnel does not affect delivery — the car comes to you at the designated time; just allow 30-40 minutes for intercontinental transit during rush hours. The exact address or coordinates of the meeting point are agreed with the manager one day before the rental starts; on the delivery day, we confirm our arrival 30 minutes in advance.
