Parking adds a little in the centre: the zona azul in Ciutat Vella, L'Eixample and Extramurs charges €1.00 for 60 minutes and €1.70 for the two-hour maximum, while the outer zona azul runs at €0.80 and €1.50 for the same windows. Tolls, by contrast, cost nothing on the AP-7 between Salou and Alicante — the stretch has been toll-free since 01.01.2020, which keeps day trips up and down the coast cheap. A week is charged as six daily rates, so a seven-day stay costs less on the weekly rate than as seven single days.

Delivery to any address in the city

We bring the car to any address in Valencia — a hotel in Ruzafa or Ciutat Vella, an apartment near the City of Arts and Sciences, a friend's flat in El Cabanyal. If you are staying outside the city, delivery beyond the city limits is arranged case by case and is not promised here — ask the manager when you book. The car comes with a full tank, and it goes back the same way: full-to-full, the standard Spanish lleno-lleno. Anything else — the missing fuel and the refuelling service fee — is charged as set out in the rental agreement.

Flying in and collecting the F-Pace

We deliver the car to Valencia Airport (VLC), the terminal serving Manises, 12.6 km by road from Plaça de l'Ajuntament and about 26 minutes without traffic. Metrovalencia lines 3 and 5 run from the airport to the centre in about 15 minutes if you would rather collect in town instead. Whichever point you choose, the address, the date and the time are confirmed before the booking is fixed.

Documents for renting a Jaguar in Valencia

Spain has clear rules on which licences it accepts. Here is what to prepare before you book.

Licence, IDP and what Spain accepts

• EU/EEA licences: fully valid in Spain while they are in date, and an IDP is not needed for them.
• Third-country licences: valid if the licence is in force, if the holder is old enough for the equivalent category in Spain, and if less than six months have passed since they took up ordinary residence in Spain.
• DGT advice for non-EU drivers: get an International Driving Permit before the trip and carry it together with your passport and your national licence.
• Licences not in Spanish: accepted either with an official certified translation into Spanish, or if they were issued on the model of Annex 9 of the Geneva Convention or Annex 6 of the Vienna Convention.
• Permiso Internacional de Conducción: a supplementary document valid for one year, shown only alongside the passport and the national licence, printed in Spanish, German, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic and Russian.

The DGT recommendation on the IDP is not a formality for Cyrillic, Arabic or Chinese script — without the permit or a certified translation, the licence is not readable to the officer who stops you.

Every Jaguar hire from Rent-Trip includes the mandatory third-party cover that Spanish law puts behind any car allowed on the road, and the rest — collision damage, theft, the excess — is set out in the rental agreement before you sign anything.

What is always included

• Seguro Obligatorio de Responsabilidad Civil: compulsory third-party cover that comes with any hire by law and applies even if the driver at the wheel was not named in the agreement.
• Third-party limits: the legal minimum is 70,000,000 EUR per incident for personal injury and 15,000,000 EUR per incident for property damage.
• What it does not cover: the driver and the car itself — third-party liability pays other people, not your own repair bill.

Collision damage and theft

• Excess (franquicia): the amount you pay yourself when there is damage; it is set out in the rental agreement.

Damage, fines and the ZBE

• Inspection at hand-over: under Spanish consumer rules every scratch and dent must be written into the agreement or the inspection sheet before you drive away, signed by both sides, with a copy kept by the customer — otherwise the damage is attributed to you.
• Traffic fines: for moving offences, alcohol and drugs the driver at the wheel is liable; for parking and unpaid tolls the owner or the hirer is, until it is proven who was driving.

If the booked model is unavailable, Spanish consumer rules let you demand another car of the same or a higher class at no extra cost, or cancel and get the prepayment back if the replacement does not match the agreed terms — automatic gearbox, five doors, and so on.

• Alcohol: the general limit is 0.25 mg/l of breath; drivers in their first two years and professional drivers are held to 0.15 mg/l.
• Seat belts and child seats: 200 EUR and 4 points; child restraints are required for anyone under 135 cm.
• Red lights and STOP signs: 200 EUR and 4 points.
• Early payment: a 50% reduction applies if you pay within 20 calendar days.

Fuel and parking in practice

Gasolina 95 E5 averaged 1.978 EUR per litre across 62 filling stations in the municipality of València, with a median of 2.039 EUR and a range from 1.74 to 2.089 EUR; Gasóleo A averaged 1.923 EUR across 63 stations. The F-Pace is Mild Hybrid / Diesel, so the diesel figure is the one that matters for your running costs — and on a long day trip toward Albufera or Xàtiva the difference between the municipal average and the cheapest station on your route adds up.

Parking is where a Premium SUV needs a plan. In the Zona azul of Ciutat Vella, L'Eixample and Extramurs the maximum stay is 2 hours, with 1.00 EUR for 60 minutes and 1.70 EUR for 120 minutes; the outer Zona azul charges 0.80 EUR and 1.50 EUR for the same periods. The Zona naranja is dearer still — 2.10 EUR for an hour, 3.30 EUR for two — and non-residents may park there only during rotation hours.

Remember the car is supplied with a full tank and must come back full, or the missing fuel and a refuelling service fee are charged as set out in the rental agreement.

Driving rules that catch visitors out

• Speed limits: 120 km/h on autopista and autovía, 90 km/h on a carretera convencional, 30 km/h on a city street with one lane in each direction, 50 km/h where there are two or more lanes each way.

Parking when you come back

The ZBE València low-emission zone covers 27.8 km² inside the Ronda Nord, the avenidas de Tarongers and Serradora and the Bulevard Sud. Cars carrying a Spanish plate and a DGT sticker (B, C, ECO or 0) fall outside its restrictions — only category A vehicles are affected. On-street parking in the blue zone costs €1.00 for 60 minutes and €1.70 for 120 in the centre and the ensanches, with a two-hour maximum, Monday to Saturday.
