• C-32 south (Castelldefels–Sitges–El Vendrell): still charged — the Vallcarca barrier at 8.42 € and Cubelles at 5.03 €, category 2. This is the opposite direction from the resorts.

Fuel prices and eco-zones

Petrol 95 E5 averages 1.94 €/l across the province of Girona and 1.956 €/l along the coast, with 250 filling stations in the province and 58 on the coast; diesel averages 1.922 €/l and 1.932 €/l respectively.

One thing worth knowing before you drive into Girona itself: the Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona has been in force since 15.09.2025, covering the area from la Devesa park to c. d'Emili Grahit and from c. del Riu Güell to c. del Carme and Barri Vell, between 7:00 and 20:00 Monday to Friday on working days. Cars without a DGT environmental badge that are not registered in Girona are restricted; there is an allowance of 24 days a year inside the restricted hours without a permit. Cameras read number plates rather than badges, and a Spanish rental fleet carries the DGT badge, so a car from us is not affected.

Zona verda charges the same €1.20 per hour and two-hour cap for non-residents, with Pedreres–Vista Alegre open Monday to Friday 9:30–13:00 and 17:00–20:00 plus Saturday 9:30–13:00, and Güell–Devesa open Monday to Saturday 8:00–20:00. If your day trip starts in Girona, park at the edge and walk in — the two-hour ceiling makes a kerbside spot useless for a museum-and-lunch afternoon.
