Under 135 cm, a seatbelt or a dedicated seat is required.

Isuzu D-Max is the only pickup on this page, at ฿1,300 per day — diesel, automatic, rear-wheel drive, 1.9 L, 150 hp, 5 seats. What it is not is an off-road vehicle: beach driving and jungle tracks are prohibited by the rental agreement, and the D-Max carries the same restriction as every other car in the fleet.

What happens if something goes wrong on the road

A foreign visitor needs a home driving licence plus an International Driving Permit under the 1949 Geneva Convention, section 42 bis of the Motor Vehicle Act — the police fine for driving without one is ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim. Citizens of ASEAN countries may drive on their national licence. Traffic keeps to the left and every car is right-hand drive, so the first kilometre on the ring road is the one worth taking slowly.

The drink-drive limit is 50 mg% in blood; for drivers under 20 and holders of temporary licences it is 20 mg%. The penalty runs to a year in prison, a fine of ฿5,000–20,000, or both, with a licence suspension of at least six months — refusing the breath test counts as an admission. Children under 6 must travel in a child seat to the TISI standard, and below 135 cm a seat belt or a special seat is required; the fine reaches ฿2,000. Every passenger, front and rear, wears a belt. Parking against a red-and-white or yellow-and-white kerb is prohibited, and traffic-camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter.

The car, the delivery and the hand-over stay the same — only the price per day moves.
How weekly and monthly rates work
- Weekly rate: a week is charged as the daily rate multiplied by six, not seven — a Suzuki Swift at ฿750 works out at ฿4,500 for the week.
- Monthly rate: a month is charged as the daily rate multiplied by twenty-one, so the same Swift comes to ฿15,750.
- Same fleet, same terms: Economy, Electric, Comfort, Minivans and Pickup trucks all follow this rule, from ฿750 up to ฿1,300 per day.
- No separate long-stay contract: the booking is agreed with a manager exactly as a one-day booking is, and the rate for your dates is confirmed before it is fixed.
The multipliers are the only thing that changes. A week does not come with a different car, a different hand-over or a different set of documents — it is the same arrangement, priced per day on a lower scale.
When a longer booking pays off
A family that books a seven-seat Toyota Avanza at ฿1,200 a day for a fortnight pays less per day under the weekly rule than on the daily scale — the saving is real and it comes from the multiplier, not from a discount we invent. The same logic applies to the electric line-up: a BYD Dolphin at ฿850 a day becomes ฿5,100 a week and ฿17,850 a month.
October brings 294.9 mm across 15.8 wet days, November 444.6 mm across 16.5, December 263.1 mm across 11.6 — the wettest stretch of the year, and the stretch when a car with a roof beats waiting out a downpour on a scooter. February to April is the dry window: 64.3 mm in February, 115.8 mm in March, 82.9 mm in April. If your stay runs through the wet months, a monthly booking at daily × 21 costs less than four separate weeks at daily × 24.
