Where we deliver your Nissan
We deliver to any address on Koh Samui and to Samui International Airport (USM). The island is compact — 228.7 km², with the 51 km ring road linking Nathon, Lipa Noi, Lamai, Chaweng, Bophut and Maenam — so a hand-over in Chaweng and one in Taling Ngam are the same job for us, just a different drive. Samui International Airport sits in Bo Phut, about 2 km north of Chaweng, which makes it a natural meeting point if you land and want the car straight away. Delivery elsewhere is arranged case by case and is not promised on the site, so if your plans move — a ferry to Koh Phangan, a night in Lamai instead of Maenam — raise it with the manager before the booking is fixed rather than after.
What to check before you drive off

Documents and driving rules for your Nissan rental
Foreign visitors need their home driving licence plus an International Driving Permit issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention; section 42 bis of the Motor Vehicle Act is the rule behind it. Citizens of ASEAN countries may drive on their national licence instead. The police fine for driving without the permit is ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim after an incident. Bring your passport, your home licence, the permit and a bank card in the main driver's name — the security hold on that card is set out in the rental agreement, not in the headline rate.

Left-hand traffic and island speed limits
Thailand drives on the left and every car is right-hand drive, so your first kilometre in a Nissan Almera or March will feel mirrored — take the ring road slowly until the lane position settles. All passengers, front and rear, must wear seatbelts. Children under 6 need a child seat to the TISI standard, and below 135 cm a belt or a special seat; the fine runs up to ฿2,000.
Alcohol, parking and camera fines
The blood-alcohol limit is 50 mg% for most drivers and 20 mg% for those under 20 or on temporary licences; refusing a test counts as admission, and the penalty reaches a year in prison, a ฿5,000–20,000 fine or both, plus at least six months without a licence. Do not park by red-and-white or yellow-and-white kerbs.

Petrol Nissans: Almera, March, Juke and Teana
The Almera (1.0 L, 100 hp), March (1.2 L, 79 hp), Juke (1.6 L, 114 hp) and Teana (2.0 L, 142 hp) all take petrol, and every one of them is automatic and front-wheel drive. Cards are accepted at very few stations, so keep cash in the glovebox; the Bangchak board is priced for Bangkok, and the island figure is not measured.
The hybrid: Kicks e-Power
The Kicks e-Power is the only hybrid on this page: a 1.2 L petrol engine that generates electricity for the motor, 136 hp, automatic, front-wheel drive, ฿1,600 a day. There is no plug and no charging stop — you fill it with petrol like any other car and the drivetrain does the rest.
The electric: Leaf
The Leaf is our only electric car — a 40 kWh battery, 150 hp, automatic, front-wheel drive, ฿950 a day.

Driving a rented Nissan around Koh Samui
The ring road and how the island is laid out
The ring road runs 51 km around the island and connects the lowland with the coast, linking every resort — Nathon, Lipa Noi, Lamai, Chaweng, Bophut and Maenam. Watch for potholes, sometimes deep ones, standing water after rain, oil patches from refuse trucks and animals at the roadside.

- Nissan Leaf: the quiet option for a full day of short hops; 40 kWh and 150 hp, with charging planned the night before.
Left-hand traffic, right-hand drive
- Turning: left turns are the easy ones; a right turn crosses the oncoming lane, so wait for a clear gap rather than edging out.
- Parking: red-and-white and yellow-and-white kerbs mean no parking; the fine for it is set out in the rental agreement.
Fuel stations on the island sell E20, 91 and 95, and most take cash — few accept cards, so keep small notes in the car.
Insurance, deposit and the rental agreement
Two insurance layers sit behind every Nissan on this page. Compulsory motor insurance, Por Ror Bor, is attached to the registered car and covers injury to third parties. First-class (Class 1) insurance covers damage to the car itself — its terms and the excess are written into the contract. Since 30 December 2025 a hire contract on Koh Samui is controlled by the OCPB: it is written in Thai, and all fees and penalties are disclosed in it.
