The zona azul in Ciutat Vella, L'Eixample and Extramurs allows a maximum of two hours and runs Monday to Saturday 09:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00, at €1.00 for 60 minutes and €1.70 for 120 minutes, so a long stop in the old town means moving the car or paying the Zona naranja rate of €2.10 an hour for non-residents in rotation hours. On a two-seat Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 at €464/day there is no room for the photographer; a four-seat convertible leaves room for one.

Fuel and parking rules for a wedding vehicle rental in Valencia

A wedding-day car is driven on a full tank and returned on a full tank — that is the fuel rule we work to, and the same full-to-full principle (lleno-lleno in Spain) is what the rental agreement states. Nothing else is offered: no pre-paid tank, no full-to-empty.

Fuel: what the tank policy means in practice

We hand the car over clean and with a full tank, and it comes back full. If the level is short on return, the missing fuel and a refuelling service fee are charged as set out in the rental agreement. Gasolina 95 E5 in the municipality of València averaged €1.978 per litre across 62 stations, with a median of €2.039 and a spread from €1.74 to €2.089; Gasóleo A averaged €1.923 across 63 stations.

Parking on the day, and where the car can legally go

• Zona azul centro y ensanches: Ciutat Vella, L'Eixample and Extramurs, maximum 2 hours, €1.00 for 60 minutes and €1.70 for 120 minutes.
• Zona azul resto ciudad: the same 2-hour cap at €0.80 for 60 minutes and €1.50 for 120 minutes.
• Zona naranja: for non-residents during rotation hours — €2.10 for 60 minutes, €3.30 for 120; in Ciutat Vella Monday to Friday 9:00–20:00, in Ruzafa and El Botànic 9:00–19:00.
• Zona verde: residents with a permit only — 86.20 EUR for 12 months on the resident tariff.
• Meter hours: Monday to Saturday, 09:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00; outside them the blue zones are free.

The ZBE València low-emission zone covers 27.8 km² inside Ronda Nord, avenidas de Tarongers and Serradora, and Bulevard Sud. From 01.12.2025 to 31.12.2026 it restricts only category A cars — petrol registered before 2001, diesel before 2006 — that are registered outside the province of Valencia. Cars carrying a DGT sticker are not category A, so the restriction does not reach them.

Documents and the driver

European Union and European Economic Area licences are valid in Spain while they are in date, and an international driving permit is not needed for them. Licences from outside the EU or EEA are valid for driving in Spain when they are still in force, the holder is old enough for the equivalent category and no more than six months have passed since they took up ordinary residence in the country; the DGT advises getting an international permit before the trip. A licence that is not in Spanish is accepted either with an official translation or where it follows the model in Annex 9 of the Geneva Convention or Annex 6 of the Vienna Convention. The minimum rental age, the young-driver surcharge and the cards accepted are agreed when booking.

What to check before the wedding day

Read the delivery time back to the manager the week before, not the morning of. Photograph the tank gauge when the car arrives. If the allocated model is not the one in your booking, the agreement is what you point to: a car of the same class or higher at no extra cost, or a lower class at a lower price.
