The multiplier is fixed at six for every car in the fleet, so the same rule applies whether you take the CLS 53 AMG at ฿22,500 a day or the Rolls-Royce Cullinan at ฿150,000. In practice this is where a luxury booking starts to make sense for a longer stay: the daily figure you effectively pay drops, while the car, the class and the terms stay exactly the same as on a one-day hire.

A month is charged at the daily rate × 21, from ฿472,500 on the CLS 53 AMG, and VAT 7% is already included in the prices shown. Every car on this page is Luxury class, automatic and all-wheel drive, and all five are right-hand drive, as Thai traffic keeps to the left. Documents, IDP and minimum age for a luxury rental in Pattaya

A luxury car rental runs on the same paperwork as any other class: passport, home driving licence and, for visitors from outside ASEAN, an International Driving Permit. The minimum driver age is 21, and conditions for drivers under 25 and for premium classes are set out in the rental agreement.

A luxury car delivered to a hotel is the same arrangement as one brought to a private address — we agree the point with you and bring the vehicle there. Central Pattaya, Jomtien, Naklua and Wong Amat, Pratamnak Hill and East Pattaya are all covered by the same rule, and Jomtien is 11.2 km from the centre, about 11 minutes outside peak hours. Beach Road and Second Road run one way anticlockwise, so a hand-over on the beach side of a hotel can mean a loop around the block rather than a stop outside the lobby. It is worth naming the car park or the side entrance when you confirm the address.

A bank card in the main driver's name is what we use for the security hold, and the amount is set out in the rental agreement rather than quoted here. That single card covers the hold on any car in the fleet, whether it is the Bentley Bentayga at ฿35,000 a day or the Rolls-Royce Cullinan at ฿150,000. Whether a debit card will do depends on the conditions in the agreement, so ask when booking.

What the agreement covers and what to check before you sign

The agreement is written in Thai and discloses all fees and penalties, which is the direct result of the OCPB rule that took effect on 30 December 2025. Traffic-camera fines are issued to the car owner — that is us — and then re-invoiced to the renter, so a camera on Motorway 7 does not disappear once you have handed the car back. The conditions of the rental are set out in the rental agreement, so read it through before you drive away. Speed limits and where the cameras are

• Built-up areas: 80 km/h — Pattaya City is named a built-up area in the 1969 law, and the sign can lower the limit further.
• Outside built-up areas: 90 km/h.
• Motorway 7: 120 km/h, enforced primarily by speed cameras.
• Camera fines: issued to the car owner — the rental company — and re-invoiced to the renter.
• Alcohol limit: 20 mg/dl applies to drivers under 20, temporary-licence holders and those driving outside their licence category.

Tolls on Motorway 7 and the free alternative

Motorway 7 runs from Bangkok through Chonburi to Pattaya and on to Map Ta Phut; the Bangkok–Pattaya stretch is 125.865 km of eight lanes at 120 km/h. Pay in cash in the left-hand lanes or use M-PASS/Easy Pass in the blue lanes — for a rented car, cash is the simpler choice. Entering the city, the Pattaya Motorway Spur leaves at Mab Prachan Interchange, follows road 3240 through Nong Prue and joins Sukhumvit at Pattaya Interchange. If you would rather skip the booths entirely, Highway 34 Bang Na–Trat to the Chonburi bypass and Highway 3 Sukhumvit through Bang Saen and Bang Phra reaches Pattaya toll-free.

Parking and the roads worth knowing

Songkran, known locally as Wan Lai, runs longer here than the national 13–15 April dates, and roads close for water play — plan around it rather than through it. The baht bus is the local way to move around without the car, with a minimum fare of ฿15 since 10 April 2026.

What a fine actually costs you

A police stop without an International Driving Permit is a ฿500–1,000 fine, and an insurer may refuse a claim — the permit is not a formality for a foreign visitor. Motorway 7 is enforced primarily by speed cameras, so the honest advice is to set cruise at 120 km/h and let the Cullinan's power stay unused on the straight.

Day trips and long drives in a luxury car rental in Pattaya

A luxury car changes what a day out of the city looks like: the drive becomes part of the trip rather than the price of it. From Pattaya you can reach Koh Larn by ferry, Nong Nooch and Khao Chi Chan, Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Bang Saen and Si Racha, and push further to Koh Samet, Koh Chang, Bangkok or Hua Hin. Distances from the city are short by international standards, and that is the point. U-Tapao Airport sits 48.9 km away by road, a 62-minute drive without traffic; Suvarnabhumi is 115.8 km and about 100 minutes; Don Mueang is 151.3 km and roughly 121 minutes. Nong Nooch and Khao Chi Chan are 24.4 km and 23.3 km out, 26 and 20 minutes respectively. Bang Saen is 47.6 km and 38 minutes, Si Racha 28.3 km and 23 minutes, Khao Kheow Open Zoo 46.9 km and 44 minutes. Hua Hin is the outlier at 321.1 km and 229 minutes — a genuine day trip, not a lunch run.

Two practical points shape those drives. The first is the island rule: to Koh Larn the ferry carries passengers only, so the car stays behind at Bali Hai Pier and you pick it up on your return — the same applies to Koh Samet, where the car stays at Ban Phe Pier. The second is the road itself. Motorway 7 runs from Bangkok through Chonburi towards the city, 120 km/h with speed cameras enforcing the limit, and a camera fine is issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter. Tolls are paid in cash or by M-PASS/Easy Pass; on a long southbound run the whole Bangkok–Pattaya stretch comes to 105–130 ฿.
