The Comfort class is a vehicle category that prioritizes comfort, spacious interior, and equipment in daily use. Vehicles in this class are positioned above the mid-range and are ideal for long urban journeys and intercity travel. Rent-Trip's comfort fleet includes 14 models, and all vehicles have automatic transmission. All of these vehicles seat 5 and are offered with petrol, diesel, or hybrid engine options.

Features of the comfort class

Cars in this segment offer more legroom, better sound insulation, and a more equipped interior compared to standard economy models. They typically come with features such as automatic climate control, touchscreen, rear-view camera, and cruise control. Automatic transmission significantly enhances driving comfort in Istanbul traffic; it eliminates the need to shift gears manually, especially in stop-and-go traffic during rush hours. With a 5-seat capacity, it provides ample space for four adults and one child. Hybrid models stand out with low fuel consumption in urban use. Sedan, hatchback or crossover

Body type selection varies depending on the intended use. Sedan models — Toyota Corolla, Renault Megane Sedan, Hyundai Elantra, Honda Civic, Škoda Octavia, Dacia Logan — offer a large trunk and are suitable for long journeys. Hatchback models — Ford Focus, Opel Astra, Volkswagen Golf, Peugeot 308, Citroën C4, Seat Leon, Kia Ceed — are easier to park in the city and offer high maneuverability thanks to their compact structure. The Fiat Egea Cross, with its crossover body, provides a raised driving position. While hatchbacks are advantageous on narrow city streets, sedans are more comfortable on highway-heavy routes. Trunk capacity and rear seat space make a difference in favor of sedans on family trips. For city-centric use, compact hatchback models are more economical in terms of fuel consumption.

Prices, Rates, and What's Included (VAT Included)

The rental fee for a comfort-class vehicle depends on the model and duration. In the Rent-Trip price list, the daily rate ranges from 1,950 TL for a Dacia Logan to 2,600 TL for a Honda Civic, and each rate includes value added tax. Below, we'll examine how daily, weekly, and monthly prices are formed and why the total amount does not change after booking.

• Fiat Egea Cross: 2,050 TL/day — a crossover with a higher ground clearance than sedans; suitable for curbs on narrow streets.
• Renault Megane Sedan: 2,100 TL/day — a diesel option for those planning out-of-town trips.
• Toyota Corolla: 2,200 TL/day — hybrid version; in-city consumption is lower than that of its petrol classmates.
• Honda Civic: 2,600 TL/day — the most powerful car in the series, 184 hp, hybrid system.

All 14 models are rented with automatic transmission; the price includes VAT and stays the same for card or cash payments.

Weekly and monthly rental advantage

At Rent-Trip, the weekly rate is calculated on six days instead of seven: with a daily rate of 1,950 TL, you pay 11,700 TL (weekly) instead of 13,650 TL (seven days). Monthly rental is calculated on 21 days: starting from 40,950 TL, which saves about a third compared to daily payments. This principle applies to all Comfort class models: the longer the period, the lower the effective daily price.

For tourists coming for two or three weeks, even if they actually use the car for 18-20 days, the monthly rate is more advantageous - the price difference covers the idle days. In weekly rentals, the car is delivered with a full tank, and the fuel return conditions are specified in the contract.

What does VAT included mean?

In Turkey, the value-added tax rate for car rental is 20%. Many local companies show the price excluding VAT and add it at the final stage of payment – the final amount is one-fifth higher than the stated price. In the Rent-Trip price list, all fees include tax: the figure you see on the model page is the same as the amount in the contract.

Which duration is more advantageous

For a trip of 1-3 days, choose the daily rate: price starts from 1,950 TL/day. If you plan to explore both sides of the city and go to Sapanca for the weekend — the weekly rate starting from 11,700 TL pays for itself by the fifth day. For long-term stays or business trips, monthly rental starts from 40,950 TL and reduces the daily cost to 1,950 TL — the most economical model for daily payment. Before booking, assess the actual number of usage days: there's no point in overpaying for unused days, and rent-trip offers the option to extend without rearranging the contract if plans change.

Comfort class vehicles: technical specifications and prices

Hybrid, diesel, or petrol

All 14 models in our fleet are automatic, but the fuel type divides them into three groups. Petrol — 11 models, from Dacia Logan to Kia Ceed; a versatile choice for city and highway. Hybrid is represented by the Toyota Corolla with a 1.8 L engine and 140 hp, and the Honda Civic with 2.0 L and 184 hp — in traffic here, hybrid burns significantly less on short distances between districts. Diesel is only one in this series — the Renault Megane 2 Sedan with 115 hp.

Which model for family and city

For families with children, the Sedan or Crossover is more practical: the Toyota Corolla, Škoda Octavia and the Fiat Egea Cross offer a spacious rear seat and a trunk for a stroller. In the city, a Hatchback is enough for two people - the Volkswagen Golf or Seat Leon is more maneuverable in the narrow streets of Fatih and Beyoğlu, and parking is easier on the Bosphorus. If you are planning long trips to Cappadocia (~8 hours), take the Honda Civic: its 184 hp and hybrid system provide safe overtaking on the highway. In our fleet, the Corolla is the most reserved model for weekly family routes.

Rental documents for foreigners

For foreign visitors wishing to rent a car in Turkey, the document process depends on rules that become clearer as the class increases. Before renting a comfort-class vehicle at Rent-Trip, knowing the passport, license, and payment card arrangement prevents surprises at the time of delivery.

Required Documents

• Passport and entry stamp: Your passport must contain a current stamp showing that you entered Turkey; an ID card alone is not sufficient.
• Driver's license: A driver's license with a photo valid in your own country; if issued in a non-Latin alphabet, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.
• Credit card: A credit card issued in the main driver's name and enabled for international payments; the security block is made with this card.
• Additional driver documents: If a second driver is to be added, they must also meet the same license and passport requirements.

When is an International Driving Permit Necessary?

Drivers from countries where licenses are issued in Latin alphabet can rent a car with their own license in Turkey. However, for licenses containing Arabic, Cyrillic, or Chinese characters, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is mandatory. The IDP serves as an official translation of your license and must be obtained in your own country before renting a car. At Rent-Trip, drivers who cannot present an IDP at delivery are not given a vehicle; this rule applies to all comfort-class models. We often see guests who arrive without an IDP having to cancel their rental — do not travel without taking the document with you.

Credit Card and Security Block

In Comfort class vehicles, the security deposit is made with a credit card issued in the main driver's name. Debit cards or cards in someone else's name are not accepted for this transaction. The deposit amount varies according to the vehicle class, and the exact figure is set out in the rental agreement. The card must have sufficient funds for the entire rental period; after the vehicle is returned, the deposit is released according to the rental company's policy. Confirming with your bank in advance that your credit card is enabled for international transactions prevents processing errors at the time of delivery.

Age and License Experience Requirements

Age and license experience requirements for Comfort class vehicles are higher than for the Economy class. At Rent-Trip, drivers aged 25 and over are generally accepted for models in this class; a license of at least 2-3 years is expected. Exact age and experience limits are specified in the contract for each model. Exceptions may apply for drivers under 25 for some models, but in this case additional conditions come into play. Guests who think they do not meet the age or experience requirement before rental should report this at the time of booking to avoid problems at delivery.

Delivery - Hotel, Region, IST and SAW Airports

Rent-Trip brings your Comfort class car to any point in the city: to a hotel, an address in the district, or directly to the airport terminal. The company has no physical office, so the car is delivered to where the customer is, to both sides of the metropolis.

Delivery to hotel or district

The vehicle is delivered to hotels or specified addresses in every district, from Beşiktaş and Şişli to Kadıköy and Ataşehir. We serve the European side and the Asian side equally. At delivery, the rental agreement is prepared, and the fuel level and body condition are recorded. Delivery is included in the service; no additional fee is charged for city delivery. Before arriving, the driver calls and confirms the exact time to prevent the customer from waiting — because there is no reception desk.

Delivery from Istanbul Airport

At Istanbul Airport (European side, Arnavutköy), the car meets the customer at the arrivals exit. This is convenient after a long flight: no need to look for a transfer or taxi to the area. During reservation, the flight number and landing time are specified; if the flight is delayed, vehicle delivery is adjusted to the actual arrival time. Delivery takes approximately 15-20 minutes: document check, contract signing, and briefing about the car.

Delivery from Sabiha Gökçen

Vehicles are also delivered at the terminal from SAW airport (Asian side, Pendik). If you're heading to the center or the European side, you need to allow time to cross the bridges — during rush hour, the trip to Beşiktaş takes about an hour. For rentals longer than a week, if your hotel is on the Asian side, Rent-Trip suggests picking up from SAW: you'll spend less time on the road and won't have to cross the Bosphorus twice.

We have no office, the car comes to you

The absence of offices is a deliberate business model for Rent-Trip: the company does not spend resources on operating branches and directs them to vehicle preparation and delivery logistics. All 14 models in the comfort class are checked before delivery, documents are prepared at handover, and keys are handed over in person. For foreign renters, this is an advantage: there is no need to spend time searching for an office in an unfamiliar city, taking taxis, or looking at a map — the vehicle awaits you at your destination.

HGS, Bridges, and Out-of-Town Trips

In this section, we have gathered what you need to know about HGS, bridge crossings, and route planning when traveling outside the city with a Comfort class vehicle.

What HGS is and how it works

HGS (Fast Pass System) is the mandatory system in Turkey that enables electronic passage at bridge and highway toll booths. You cannot enter bridges and highways without an HGS tag defined to your vehicle's license plate or an HGS account with sufficient balance. In rental cars, the HGS tag is usually ready on the windshield, and tolls are collected as set out in the rental agreement. If you pass through points like Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Eurasia Tunnel, and Osmangazi Bridge without HGS, unpaid passages may incur a penalty of four times the toll if not paid on time.

Bridge and tunnel fees

• Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge: TRY 110 — connects the European and Asian sides via the third bridge, and is a shortcut towards Şile and Kilyos.
• Eurasia Tunnel: Daytime 280 TL, night 140 TL — provides an undersea crossing beneath the 15 July Martyrs Bridge line, reducing the journey between Kadıköy and Fatih to 15 minutes.
• Osmangazi Bridge: 1,170 TRY — saves time heading toward Bursa and Uludağ by crossing the Gulf of İzmit.

Routes to Şile, Sapanca, Bursa, and Cappadocia

Routes from here are easily traveled with comfort-class cars; automatic transmission reduces fatigue on long journeys. Şile and Ağva, about 1.5 hours away, are ideal for a weekend getaway. You can reach Sapanca in 2 hours and enjoy a comfortable weekend by the lake. Bursa and Uludağ are reached in about 2.5 hours via the Osmangazi Bridge. Cappadocia, however, requires a long journey of about 8 hours; for such long distances, the weekly rental rate is more advantageous than the daily rate.
