A monthly booking on this page starts at €462, which is the cheapest Economy car at €22 a day multiplied by 21. A week is worked out the same way, at daily × 6, so the same car comes to €132 for seven days. The multiplier does not change from model to model, which keeps the gap between a €22 hatchback and a €36 Comfort proportional at any length: the Citroen C1, Ford Ka+, Kia Picanto and Peugeot 108 all sit at €22, while the Renault Megane, Opel Astra and Ford Focus top the page at €36. A month-long booking is where that decision matters most, because the daily rate you choose stays with you for every day of the booking.

What sits outside the daily rate

The deposit, the insurance excess, delivery fees and any discount are set out in the rental agreement, not on this page. What we can tell you is the arithmetic that is fixed: daily × 6 for a week, daily × 21 for a month, and no other multiplier on this page. Ask the manager for those four lines — deposit, excess, delivery, discount — before anything is confirmed, so the total you agree to is the total you pay.

• Fuel is separate from all of it: the car is supplied with a full tank and returned with a full tank, so budget for petrol at Spanish pump prices on top of the rate.

A month-long rental starts long before the keys change hands. The car is brought to you, and the delivery address, the date and the time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed. That is the whole hand-over: we drive the car out to where you are staying, and the month begins from there.

The car you get, and the state it comes in

Rent-Trip supplies every car clean and with a full tank, and the same rule closes the month: the car goes back with a full tank. In Spain this is the lleno-lleno policy, and it is the only fuel option we offer — no pre-paid tank, no full-to-empty. If the tank comes back short, the missing fuel and a refuelling service fee are charged as set out in the rental agreement.

Because the car stays with you for weeks rather than days, the practical details shift. A scratch picked up on a car park barrier in Palafrugell in week one is still on the same car in week four, and it is your month, not somebody else's weekend.

The four lines worth reading before you commit

Ask for the deposit, the insurance excess, the delivery fee and any discount before anything is signed — those four lines are the ones that move the final figure, and they live in the rental agreement, not on this page. The compulsory third-party cover sits on the car by law and is always in force, but it protects other people, not the car itself and not you. Damage cover beyond that is an option, and how far it goes depends on what you take.

One more thing worth knowing: the car is Spanish-registered, which means it carries the DGT environmental badge. That matters if a month of driving takes you into Girona, where the Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona runs 7–20 on weekdays and cameras read plates rather than stickers. A car with the badge has no restriction there — so if your month includes regular trips into the city, ask us at hand-over which badge the car carries, and plan the rest of the month around the answer.

Driving a monthly rental car around the Costa Brava coast

A month gives you the range a week never does: the coast runs from Blanes to Cadaqués, and the road between them is a chain of small resorts, not a single destination.

What a month of driving actually covers

Barcelona-El Prat to Lloret de Mar is 89.6 km and 75 minutes without traffic, mostly on the C-32 and C-31. Over four weeks those numbers stop being a route and become a routine.

Roads, speed and the AP-7

• Motorway limits: the autopista and autovía network — AP-7, A-2, C-32, C-33 — is capped at 120 km/h for cars.
• Tolls: the AP-7 corridor from Vila-seca to La Jonquera, covering Barcelona, Girona and the French border, has been toll-free since 01.09.2021, and the C-32 Maresme barriers came down the same night.
• Remaining tolls: on the Generalitat network only the C-16 and the southern C-32 towards Castelldefels, Sitges and El Vendrell still charge; none of them sit on a coastal route.

A month changes what you notice

The fuel bill is where a long stay differs from a short one. Petrol 95 E5 averages 1.94 EUR per litre across the province of Girona, with 250 filling stations to choose from, and 1.956 on the coast across 58 stations. And the one thing worth checking before you set off: the Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona has been in force since 15.09.2025, running 7–20 on weekdays, and covers the area from la Devesa park to c. d'Emili Grahit and from c. del Riu Güell to c. del Carme and the Barri Vell. Spanish fleets carry the DGT environmental sticker, so cars with the badge face no restriction — ask us at hand-over which sticker your car has.

Fuel, parking and tolls on a month of car rental

A month of driving turns fuel and parking from one-off costs into a running bill, and the numbers below are the ones that actually move it.

What petrol costs along the coast

Petrol 95 E5 averages €1.94 a litre across the province of Girona, with a median of €1.979, a low of €1.718 and a high of €2.122 across 250 filling stations; along the coast the average sits at €1.956 from 58 stations. Diesel (Gasóleo A) runs cheaper at €1.922 average, and 98 E5 dearer at €2.106. Our own policy is full-to-full: the car comes clean with a full tank and goes back full, or the missing fuel and a refuelling service fee are charged as set out in the rental agreement.

Tolls and the AP-7

The AP-7 corridor from Vila-seca to La Jonquera — the whole run down to the French border — has been toll-free since 01.09.2021, and the C-32 Maresme between Montgat and Palafolls, the road down towards Blanes and Lloret, lost its barriers in the night of 31 August to 1 September 2021. The C-33 to Montmeló is free too. On Costa Brava routes there are no remaining Generalitat tolls: the only paid roads left in Catalonia are the C-16 (Cadí, Vallvidrera, Sant Cugat–Terrassa–Manresa) and the C-32 south towards Castelldefels–Sitges–El Vendrell.

Parking: blue zones, green zones and resort car parks

• Zona blava in Girona: Monday to Saturday on working days, 9:30–13:00 and 16:00–20:00, at €1.20 an hour with a two-hour maximum, so €2.40. Around Sant Narcís the hours differ.
• Zona verda in Girona: €1.20 an hour, two-hour maximum, and non-residents pay the same; Pedreres–Vista Alegre runs Monday to Friday 9:30–13:00 and 17:00–20:00 plus Saturday 9:30–13:00, while Güell–Devesa runs Monday to Saturday 8:00–20:00.
• Lloret de Mar, Can Lloranes: 160 spaces at roughly €15 a day from 23 June to 11 September, free outside that window.
• Lloret de Mar, Avinguda Alegries: 200 park-and-ride spaces, free when you stay longer than 12 hours, with a free bus ticket into the centre, from 15 June to 15 September.
• Lloret de Mar, zona blava: zone A covers Tarradellas and Francesc Macià year-round with seasonal hours; zone C covers Fenals, Canyelles, Boadella and Can Lloranes from 23 June to 11 September.

Fill up inland rather than on the seafront, and check the ZBE rules before driving into Girona itself: the Zona de baixes emissions (ZBE) de Girona has run since 15.09.2025, Monday to Friday on working days, 7:00–20:00, and cars without a DGT environmental badge that are not registered in Girona are the ones it restricts.

What to have ready before you write to us

• Your dates: the day you want the car and the day you hand it back, which sets whether you pay the weekly or the monthly rate.

• The gearbox: most of the fleet is manual, with automatic on Hyundai i10, Skoda Fabia and Toyota Yaris Hybrid.
• Your licence: EU/EEA permits are valid in Spain while they are in force; DGT recommends an international driving permit for permits from outside the EU/EEA.

A month of self-drive hire is not a long weekend with a bigger bill. It is a different kind of decision: the car sits outside your door for four weeks, so the things you would shrug off for three days start to matter — where you park it overnight, how far you drive between fills, and whether the boot actually swallows a fortnight of luggage.

If your stay is genuinely three or four weeks, the monthly figure is the one to work from; if you are only here for ten days, do not stretch the booking to reach a month you will not use.
