What every pickup in the fleet shares

Daily rates run ฿1,600–฿2,200; weekly starts at ฿9,600 and monthly at ฿33,600. Weekly is daily × 6 and monthly is daily × 21, so the longer you book, the lower the per-day figure — a month in the Hilux Revo Double Cab costs ฿33,600, about ฿1,120 a day over thirty days, against ฿1,600 for a single day.
What is included in the price shown
VAT 7% is already included in every price we show, so the figure in the table is the figure you pay for the car itself. Compulsory motor insurance (Por Ror Bor) comes attached to the vehicle; first-class cover for damage to the car has its terms and the excess set out in the rental agreement. The deposit and any delivery fee are in the same document, so read it before you sign.
One thing worth doing before you commit to a month: work out your actual days. Two weekly hires cost 12 daily rates against 21 daily rates for a month, so for a stay of two or three weeks the weekly rate is cheaper.

Two cabin layouts decide how many people and how much cargo you take: the five-seat Double Cab and the two-seat Smart Cab. Both sit in our pickup trucks fleet, and both run the same 2.4-litre diesel.
Five seats or two, and when each one fits
The Double Cab and the Isuzu D-Max seat 5, while the Smart Cab seats 2. The Double Cab carries a driver, four passengers and a 2.4 L, 150 hp diesel under the bonnet; the Isuzu D-Max matches the seat count with a smaller 1.9 L unit and the highest daily rate on the page at ฿2,200.
Rear-wheel drive or 4x4
Three of the four pickups are rear-wheel drive; only the Hilux Revo Double Cab 2.8 4x4 has four driven wheels. That single car also brings the largest engine in the class — 2.8 L and 204 hp against 150 hp elsewhere — for ฿1,700 a day, which is ฿100 above the base Double Cab and ฿500 below the Isuzu D-Max.
- Five seats: choose the Double Cab or the Isuzu D-Max when four passengers travel with you.
- Manual gearbox: only the Smart Cab has one; the other three are automatic.
Pick the 4x4 for grip, not for terrain — the agreement does not allow the second use.

Diesel, tolls and parking in the city
On 24 September 2026 diesel B7 was ฿41.44 and diesel B20 ฿36.44 per litre at Bangchak retail stations, which exclude the provincial tax. Toll roads here are the EXAT expressways — Chaloem Maha Nakhon, Si Rat and the rest — where you pay cash or use an Easy Pass or M-PASS tag, and Motorway 7 toward Pattaya charges ฿25 from Lat Krabang to Bang Bo, ฿100 to Pong and ฿105 all the way to Pattaya. Parking is the third line: CentralWorld gives the first 2 hours free, then ฿20 an hour, and ฿50 an hour after 6 hours, while ICONSIAM gives 2 hours free, charges ฿30 for the third hour and ฿60 an hour after 7. Ask at hand-over whether the car carries a toll tag — if it does not, budget cash for every barrier.

Documents and Conditions for Pickup Truck Rental in Bangkok
To rent one of our four pickups you need a passport, a home driving licence with an International Driving Permit, and a bank card in the main driver's name. Minimum age is 21. Everything else is set out in the rental agreement, which since 30 December 2025 is a contract controlled by the OCPB and written in Thai.
What you need to show at booking
- Home driving licence: valid, in the main driver's name, and carried with you while you drive.
- International Driving Permit: issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention, required alongside your home licence for visitors from outside ASEAN.
- ASEAN licences: citizens of ASEAN countries drive on their national licence, with no International Driving Permit needed.
- Bank card: a card in the main driver's name is used for the security hold; the amount is set out in the rental agreement.
- Age: minimum 21; conditions for drivers under 25 and for premium classes are set out in the agreement.
Driving rules that apply to a pickup
Traffic in Bangkok keeps to the left, and every car in our fleet is right-hand drive — worth a minute of practice in a quiet car park before you join Sukhumvit. Speed limits are 80 km/h in built-up areas, 90 km/h outside them, 120 km/h on the motorway and 110 km/h on the expressways. Children under 6 must travel in a child seat to the TISI standard, and below 135 cm they need a seat or a special restraint; that rule covers pickups as well as cars, and the fine runs up to ฿2,000. In a pickup a child may sit in the front passenger seat but never in the cargo bed. Everyone in the vehicle wears a seat belt, rear row included.
Compulsory motor insurance (Por Ror Bor) covers injury to third parties and is attached to every registered car; first-class insurance covers damage to the car itself, and its terms and the excess are set out in the rental agreement. Traffic-camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter, so an unpaid ticket follows you rather than the vehicle.
Off-road, beach and jungle-track driving is not allowed under the rental agreement — the 4x4 Hilux is for wet rural roads, not for sand. Booking itself is settled with a manager, and the paperwork is set out in the rental agreement.
Driving a Pickup Truck Rental in Bangkok and Out of Town
Traffic drives on the left, and every pickup in the fleet is right-hand drive, so the first few kilometres take concentration. Once you are moving, the practical questions are tolls, parking and how far the truck can take you beyond the city.
Tolls and parking with a pickup truck
- Expressways: the city expressways run under EXAT, and you pay in cash or with an Easy Pass or M-PASS tag — the two tags are interchangeable, but one car carries one tag.
- Short expressway hops: a guide figure for a passenger car is 50–100 ฿, so keep small notes in the cab.
- Malls: CentralWorld gives 2 hours free, then 20 ฿ an hour, and 50 ฿ an hour after 6 hours; ICONSIAM gives 2 hours free, 30 ฿ for the third hour and 60 ฿ an hour after 7.
- Free parking: Esplanade Ratchada, PARA Pinklao and Central Festival Eastville charge nothing, and Central Bangna gives 6 hours free.
Speed limits and the rules that catch drivers out
Built-up areas run at 80 km/h, roads outside them at 90 km/h, motorways at 120 km/h, expressways at 110 km/h and elevated sections at 100 km/h. Cameras on Motorway 7 enforce the 120 km/h limit, and a camera fine is issued to the owner of the car — the rental company — and then re-invoiced to the renter. Two more things worth knowing before you pull out: children under 6 must ride in a child seat to the TISI standard, and everyone in the car wears a seatbelt, back row included. A foreign visitor drives on a home licence plus an International Driving Permit under the 1949 Geneva Convention; the police fine for driving without one is ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim. Our rental agreement does not allow off-road, beach or jungle-track driving, so the 4x4 earns its keep on wet rural roads, not on sand.
Where the truck can go from the city
The out-of-town routes we have pages for are Pattaya, Hua Hin, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Khao Yai, Damnoen Saduak and Amphawa, and Ko Samet. Motorway 7 is the main run south — 149.3 km to Map Ta Phut, with Pattaya at the 125.865 km mark — and a passenger car pays 25 ฿ from Lat Krabang to Bang Bo, 100 ฿ to Pong and 105 ฿ to Pattaya. Motorway 9, the outer Kanchanaphisek ring, uses M-Flow: cameras read the plate and the bill follows, and without registration you have 2 days to pay by plate number; from the third day the tariff doubles, and a fine of ten times the tariff follows. Ask at hand-over whether a tag is linked to the vehicle before you join a barrier-free lane.

Three things to settle before you pay: the cab against the crew, the luggage against the bed, and the route against the plan.
Match the cab to the people and the load
- Two driven wheels or four: the 2.8 4x4 is the only one with drive to all four wheels, and it costs ฿1,700 a day against ฿1,600 for the standard Double Cab.
- Budget ceiling: the D-Max is the most expensive at ฿2,200 a day, so fix the model before you fix the dates.
Check the route, the licence and the paperwork
Work out the days first: weekly starts at ฿9,600 and monthly at ฿33,600, and both are calculated from the daily rate, so a longer hire lowers the per-day figure. Then check the route against the truck — four driven wheels are worth the ฿100 a day only if you are actually leaving the city, since off-road, beach and jungle-track driving is not allowed under the agreement. Bring a home driving licence and an International Driving Permit, unless you hold an ASEAN licence, and a bank card in the main driver's name for the security hold.
