One thing worth knowing before you drive into the centre: the city has a ZBE, the Zona de Bajas Emisiones, and the staged restrictions that began on 01.12.2025 tighten again on 01.01.2027 and on 01.01.2028. Cars with Spanish plates and a DGT sticker (B, C, ECO or 0) are not caught by the ZBE rules, which apply to category A vehicles — petrol registered before 2001 and diesel before 2006.
