Rental prices are calculated based on duration under three different rates: daily, weekly and monthly. At Rent-Trip, daily rates for 8–9 passenger minivans range between 5,000–6,500 TL, and all prices include VAT.

Daily Rental Prices

Daily rates range from 5,000 TL to 6,500 TL, depending on the model's equipment and engine power. The most economical option is the Renault Trafic with a 2.0 L, 150 hp engine and manual transmission — 5,000 TL/day; the best-equipped model is the 9-seat Volkswagen Caravelle — 6,500 TL/day. Most automatic transmission models (Ford Tourneo Custom 5,650 TL, Hyundai Staria 5,500 TL, Mercedes-Benz Vito 6,000 TL) sit in the middle of this range. All prices include VAT, so no extra tax is added at payment. Before renting, confirm in the contract that the daily rate includes compulsory traffic insurance and that HGS tolls are charged separately.

Savings in Weekly and Monthly Rentals

Weekly rental offers an advantageous rate by calculating 6 days of the daily price: starting from 30,000 TL. For monthly rental, the calculation is based on 21 days, starting from 105,000 TL—thus you save as much as 9 days' worth of the daily rate per month. This formula ensures you pay the full daily rate for short rentals, and a discounted daily cost for long rentals.

• Weekly rate: daily price × 6 days (e.g., 30,000 TRY for a Renault Trafic).
• Monthly rate: daily price × 21 days (e.g., 105,000 TRY for a Renault Trafic).
• VAT included: weekly and monthly prices are also fixed including VAT.
• Long-term advantage: The 21-day calculation brings the daily cost to around TRY 3,500 for 30 days of use.

For out-of-town plans, a weekly rate offers a more flexible budget compared to daily rental; with monthly rental, the daily cost drops significantly. Calculate the number of days you plan to rent in advance to determine which rate suits you—for usage under 4 days, daily rates are more economical; for 5 days or more, the weekly rate is better.

Documents required for minivan rental

As a foreign driver, the documents needed to rent a 7-9 seat minivan in this city are no different from a standard car rental: passport, entry stamp to Turkey, a valid driver's license from your country of residence, and a credit card in the name of the main driver who will sign the rental agreement. The exact limits are set out in the contract on the day of vehicle delivery, and rentals cannot be approved for drivers below this age range. The amount of the security block on your credit card is similarly set out in the contract—this amount is credited back to your card if there is no damage or toll violations upon return. Before signing the contract, we recommend checking together the clauses regarding refueling and vehicle return time; we explain all these items at delivery.

Minivan delivery — Istanbul and airports

Rent-Trip has no physical office; instead, we deliver the minivan to any point you want in the city or at both airports. This model does not require you to travel for hours to pick up a car on either side of the metropolis—we bring the car to your hotel, workplace, or terminal exit.

Delivery to Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen (SAW)

The two airports are on opposite shores of the city: Istanbul Airport (IST) is in Arnavutköy on the European side, and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) is in Pendik on the Asian side. No matter where your flight lands, we deliver the minivan waiting for you at the terminal exit; we prepare the car in advance and bring it to the delivery point according to your arrival time. If you are traveling with a large group or lots of luggage, picking up the car directly is a practical solution instead of using public transport. During delivery, we review the contract together and record the vehicle's condition. For airport delivery, just let us know the time you will drop off the car in advance — on your return, you can hand over the car at the same terminal and head straight to check-in.

Delivery to the European and Asian sides

We deliver to both sides of the city: we bring the vehicle to European side districts like Şişli, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu, Fatih, and Bakırköy, as well as Asian side districts like Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Ataşehir, Maltepe, and Pendik. In this huge city spanning two continents, bridges and the Eurasia Tunnel connect the sides; but you decide where to pick up the car, and we position ourselves accordingly. For a group planning to go to Şile or Sapanca on the weekend, having the car delivered to a cafe in Üsküdar is much more efficient than going from Kadıköy to the city center. Accommodation address: Simply inform us of the district where your hotel or apartment is located during the reservation. Office delivery: We bring the car to your office according to your meeting schedule. Roadside delivery: We deliver the vehicle at the airport exit or at a junction you specify.

Intercity trips and HGS

When going out of town, bridge and highway crossings are paid via HGS; in minivan rentals, crossings with the HGS tag defined on the vehicle's license plate work automatically. Fees vary by vehicle class, so it is necessary to take toll costs into account when planning your route.

How HGS Works and Bridge Toll Rates

• HGS (Fast Pass System): It allows passing through bridge and highway toll booths without stopping using the electronic tag defined on the vehicle's plate; the fee is automatically deducted from the balance.
• Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge: Vehicle crossing between the European and Asian sides is 110 TL; this route is practical for avoiding traffic when heading towards Şile and Ağva.
• Eurasia Tunnel: 280 TRY during the day, 140 TRY at night; offers a passage under the sea instead of the Bosphorus Bridge and shortens the Kadıköy-Şişli route.
• Osmangazi Bridge: It allows crossing over İzmit Bay to Bursa and Uludağ for 1,170 TL; this cost should be added to the budget when planning a daytime trip for a Sapanca return.
• Unauthorized toll passage: If the balance is insufficient, the crossing becomes penalized, and if not paid on time, four times the fee is applied; therefore, checking the balance before the trip is essential.

Weekend Getaways: Şile, Sapanca, Bursa

For a weekend getaway, an 8–9-seat minivan is a comfortable choice on routes around the metropolis: Şile and Ağva are about 1.5 hours away, Sapanca 2 hours, and Bursa is reachable via the Osmangazi Bridge. All are offered with 2.0 L or 2.2 L diesel engines; they produce between 150 hp and 177 hp. Automatic transmission significantly facilitates driving, especially on daily commutes from Beşiktaş to Kadıköy and during rush hours on the E-5 highway. The Hyundai Staria, with 9 seats and 177 hp, is the most powerful automatic option for those seeking a balance of capacity and performance.

Manual Renault Trafic: Economical Option

Our only manual transmission model, the Renault Trafic, is the most economical choice in the fleet at 5,000 TL/day (VAT included). Offering 9 seats, a 2.0 L diesel engine, and 150 hp, the Trafic comes to 30,000 TL on a weekly rental — a starting price 300-500 TL/day more affordable than most automatic models. The manual transmission is advantageous for drivers who like to control fuel consumption on long out-of-town trips, such as weekend getaways to Sapanca or Bursa. Drivers accustomed to driving only automatics must specify the transmission type at delivery; the chosen transmission is clearly set out in the rental agreement.

Things to consider when renting a minivan

Before renting a minivan, clarifying driver requirements, insurance coverage, and contract terms is crucial to avoid surprises on delivery day. At Rent-Trip, the age and license requirements for vehicles vary by class; therefore, we evaluate together which model suits you before booking.

Age and Driving Experience Requirements

In Turkey, car rental companies differentiate the driver's age and license experience according to the vehicle class. For large and long vehicles like minivans, these thresholds are higher compared to passenger cars; generally, the driver is expected to have an active license for at least 2-3 years. At Rent-Trip, we verify these conditions for all 8-9 seater models during reservation; if your age or experience is close to the limit, we inform you before reservation which models are suitable. For foreign drivers, the license must be written in Latin alphabet; otherwise, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is mandatory. Your passport and entry stamp into Turkey must also be with you at the time of delivery. For drivers who do not meet the conditions, it is possible to arrange the vehicle under another driver's name — as long as the main driver's credit card and documents are valid.

Insurance and Contract: What You Need to Know

Compulsory traffic insurance is legally guaranteed for every vehicle registered in Turkey; this coverage also applies to rental minivans and is part of the contract. This mandatory insurance is included in the daily rates including VAT; the scope of additional coverages is always set out in the contract. At the time of rental, the security deposit is made with a credit card issued in the main driver's own name; the deposit amount and refund period are set out in the contract. We recommend that you check existing scratches and damages together with the report when taking delivery of the vehicle — this prevents disputes at return. Also, make sure that your bridge and highway crossings are paid to avoid penalty amounts that can be up to four times the violation fees that may occur on HGS crossings.

Airport transfer with a minivan — practical plan for IST and SAW
