Audi car rental in London with 8 models to choose from

Audi car rental in London covers 8 Audis on this page, spread across five classes and one badge. What you choose comes down to two things: how many people are travelling and what the trip looks like — a weekend in the centre, a run out to the Cotswolds, or a week of meetings in Canary Wharf.

Which Audi models are available for Audi car rental in London

Audi Q5Premium5AutomaticAll-wheel£107
Audi Q8Premium5AutomaticAll-wheel£213
Audi RS7Sports5AutomaticAll-wheel£490
Audi R8 SpyderSports2AutomaticAll-wheel£840

The class matters more than the badge: it sets the seats, the drive and the boot you actually get.

How to pick an Audi for a city break or a longer trip

For two people, the A3 Cabriolet or the R8 Spyder is the obvious pick — 4 and 2 seats respectively, both petrol and automatic. For five, the Q5 or Q8 carries everyone: the Q5 runs a 2.0 L engine with 204 hp and all-wheel drive, the Q8 a 3.0 L diesel with 286 hp and the same all-wheel layout. The A4 and A3 are the everyday five-seaters, at £65 and £80 per day. In our experience the centre decides the model more than the motorway does. Narrow streets, 20 mph zones and tight parking push people towards the A3 and the A4, while the Q8 and RS7 come into their own on a longer run out of town.

Two practical notes before you choose. Petrol covers 7 of the 8 cars; the Q8 is the only diesel, so plan refuelling around that. And the R8 Spyder's two seats mean hand luggage only — the boot will not take a full-size case for a passenger as well.

What each Audi model in the London rental fleet gives you

Audi car rental in London means eight Audis, one badge, five classes — and every car below is specified from the same sheet. Engine size, power, drive and fuel differ enough between models that the right choice usually falls out of the trip itself: a 1.0 L hatchback for narrow streets, a 3.0 L diesel SUV for a long run west.

Audi A4 and A3 Cabriolet for hire in London

The A4 is £65 per day on this page, and the A3 Cabriolet opens the roof from £80. The A4 is a four-door saloon with five seats, a 2.0 L petrol engine, 150 hp, automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive; the A3 Cabriolet is a soft-top with four seats, a 1.5 L petrol unit of the same 150 hp, automatic and front-wheel drive. Both sit in the same power bracket, so the choice comes down to body style rather than performance — one has a boot, the other has a folding roof.

Audi Q3, Q5 and Q8 SUVs for hire locally

Three SUVs cover the Premium class: the Q3 from £55, the Q5 at £107 and the Q8 at £213 with the only diesel on this page. All three seat five. The Q5 and Q8 are the two cars we point people towards for out-of-town runs such as the Cotswolds or Bath, where all-wheel drive earns its keep on wet, leaf-covered lanes in a way front-wheel drive does not.

Audi A3, RS7 and R8 Spyder for hire in the city

The A3 is a five-door hatch with five seats, a 1.0 L petrol engine, 110 hp and front-wheel drive — the smallest engine on the page and the easiest to place in a tight street. The RS7 is a five-seat hatch with 4.0 L, 600 hp and all-wheel drive; the R8 Spyder is a two-seat convertible with 5.2 L, 570 hp and all-wheel drive. The R8 Spyder carries two people and very little else, so plan hand luggage only if that is the car you want.

Choose your Audi car rental in London by class and day

Five classes cover the eight Audis, and the daily rate runs from £55 to £840. Longer bookings follow one rule across the whole range: weekly is the daily rate times six, monthly the daily rate times twenty-one.

Class by class for Audi car rental in London

ClassCarsFrom per dayTo per day
Sedan1£65£65
Convertibles1£80£80
Premium3£55£213
Comfort1£80£80
Sports2£490£840

Sports holds the widest spread on the page: the RS7 at £490 and the R8 Spyder at £840 sit in one class, so the badge on the key fob matters more than the class name when you compare daily rates.

Weekly and monthly rates for the Audi range

Weekly bookings start at £330 and monthly at £1,155, calculated as the daily rate times six and times twenty-one. The cheapest car on the page, the Q3 at £55 per day, is the model those two starting figures come from; a Q5 at £107 per day scales the same way, and so does every other Audi in the fleet. Nothing about the multipliers changes between classes — a long booking on a Premium SUV is worked out exactly like a long booking on the Sedan. In our experience the monthly figure is the one people misjudge: they multiply by thirty and then wonder why the quote is lower. Count the days you actually need the car, apply the multiplier once, and compare that total against the class you want rather than against the cheapest car on the page. If your dates straddle a long weekend, agree them with a manager before the booking is fixed — the delivery address, date and time are confirmed at that point.

What changes the daily rate within a class

  • Body style: the two Convertibles split across classes — the A3 Cabriolet sits in Convertibles at £80, the R8 Spyder in Sports at £840.
  • Seats: the 2-seat R8 Spyder is the most expensive car here at £840, and the 5-seat Q3 the cheapest at £55.
  • Drive and engine: the Premium SUVs run from the front-wheel-drive Q3 at £55 to the all-wheel-drive Q8 at £213 with its 3.0 L diesel.
  • Gearbox: the manual A3 is the Comfort class on its own at £80, while the seven automatics spread across the other four classes.

A class's starting price is not the top of the page — it is the entry point of that group, and the gap between the two ends of Premium is wider than the whole Comfort class.

Where we deliver an Audi car rental in London

Rent-Trip brings the car to you rather than asking you to collect it from a depot. Rent-Trip delivers every Audi on this page to any address in the capital and to the six airports around it, and the delivery address, the date and the time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed. That single rule covers most of what travellers ask about hand-over: nothing is assumed, everything is confirmed in the conversation that closes the booking.

Audi car rental delivered to your address

We deliver an Audi to any address in the city — a hotel, a flat, a friend's place, an office — and a manager agrees the address, date and time before the booking is fixed. The same applies to the places in and around the capital we have a page for: St Pancras & King's Cross, Euston, Paddington, Victoria, Waterloo, Canary Wharf, Wembley, ExCeL London and Mayfair are all inside the delivery area. Delivery anywhere outside these places is arranged case by case and is not promised on the site, so raise it with the manager early rather than on the day. Give the full postcode and the window you can be there; both go into the booking, and the hand-over is planned around them. If your plans move, tell us before the agreed slot instead of after it — a confirmed address and time is what the whole hand-over hangs on.

Airports we deliver an Audi to

London Heathrow Airport (LHR): 84,481,178 passengers in 2025, about 30.3 km by road from the centre and roughly 45 minutes without traffic. We also deliver to London Gatwick Airport (LGW), London Stansted Airport (STN), London Luton Airport (LTN), London City Airport (LCY) and London Southend Airport (SEN).

What to have ready when the car arrives

The car comes clean and with a full tank, and it must go back with a full tank — full-to-full is the only fuel option we offer. Anything short of that is charged as the missing fuel plus a refuelling service fee, set out in the rental agreement. Beyond fuel, the practical points are the ones that decide whether the hand-over takes ten minutes or forty: a confirmed address with the postcode, a confirmed time window, and a phone that works on the day. Driving in United Kingdom is on the left and every car here is right-hand drive, so the first mile is worth taking slowly — the A4 and A3 are the easiest of the eight to place on a narrow street.

Road charges to know about

The Congestion Charge applies inside the Inner Ring Road from 07:00–18:00 Monday to Friday and 12:00–18:00 at weekends and on bank holidays, at £18 a day paid on the day or in advance, or £21 if paid by midnight on the third day after the trip. The ULEZ charge is £12.50 a day for non-compliant vehicles and runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, apart from 25 December. Who pays road charges, tolls and penalty notices on a rental car is agreed when booking, so settle it with the manager before you drive off rather than after a letter arrives.

Driving an Audi car rental in London on the road

Traffic in the United Kingdom keeps left, and every Audi car rental in London on this page is right-hand drive. That single fact shapes the first ten minutes of any trip: the gear lever sits in your left hand, the mirror angle is different, and the near-side kerb is on your other side.

The rules that matter before you pull away

  • Keep left: hold the left-hand side of the road unless signs or markings say otherwise, and stay close to the left edge when turning (Highway Code, rule 160 and rule 183).
  • Roundabouts: give way to traffic approaching from your right and travel clockwise (Highway Code, rule 185).
  • Speed limits: 30 mph in built-up areas across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, 60 mph on a single carriageway, 70 mph on a dual carriageway and on a motorway; on lit roads the default is 30 mph unless signs say otherwise.
  • City zones: many signed areas run at 20 mph, so read the signs rather than assume the national figure applies.
  • Phones: holding a phone, satnav or tablet while driving is illegal, even at a red light — £200 and 6 penalty points, and a driver within 2 years of passing their test loses the licence.
  • Seat belts: belts are compulsory where fitted, and children need a child seat until they reach 135 cm or turn 12, whichever comes first — a fine of up to £500 applies.

Charges that follow the car, not the driver

The Congestion Charge runs 07:00–18:00 Monday to Friday and 12:00–18:00 on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays, at £18 a day paid on the day or in advance, or £21 if paid by midnight on the third day after the trip; it is not charged from 25 December to the New Year bank holiday inclusive. ULEZ applies 24 hours a day, seven days a week except 25 December, across all 32 boroughs, at £12.50 a day for vehicles that do not meet the standards — petrol cars from 2006 and diesel from September 2016 generally comply. The Dartford Crossing charges £3.50 per crossing, or £2.80 prepaid, and the Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels charge £4.20 at peak and £1.55 off-peak with Auto Pay. Who covers road charges, tolls and penalty notices on a hired car is agreed when booking — check it before you set off, because the TfL vehicle checker will tell you in a minute whether a given Audi owes ULEZ at all.

What the Audi itself does on these roads

The Q5 and Q8 run all-wheel drive with 204 hp and 286 hp from 2.0 L and 3.0 L engines, which is the difference between a confident M25 run in the rain and a nervous one. The A3, at 1.0 L and 110 hp with the only manual gearbox here, is the easiest of the eight to place in a tight Marylebone side street. Our own habit: take the car with a full tank and return it full — that is the fuel policy on every booking, and a petrol station near the return address saves a detour at the end.

Charges for Audi car rental in London explained

Two road charges apply when you drive in London: the Congestion Charge and the ULEZ. Both are daily charges, and both are checked by camera. We set out how each one works so you can plan the driving day before the car arrives.

Congestion Charge

  • The charge: £18 a day if you pay on the day of travel or in advance, £21 if you pay up to midnight on the third day after the journey.
  • Hours: 07:00–18:00 Monday to Friday, 12:00–18:00 on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays.
  • The zone: inside the Inner Ring Road — Pentonville Rd, City Rd, Old St, Commercial St, Mansell St, Tower Bridge Rd, New Kent Rd, Elephant & Castle, Kennington Ln, Vauxhall Bridge Rd, Park Ln, Edgware Rd, Marylebone Rd and Euston Rd sit on the boundary or outside it.
  • Charging days off: nothing is charged from 25 December to the New Year bank holiday inclusive.
  • Electric cars: the 100% Cleaner Vehicle Discount ended on 25.12.2025, so from 02.01.2026 a battery car pays £13.50 instead of £18 with Auto Pay — a 25% discount; without Auto Pay there is no reduction.
  • Penalty: a PCN is £180, cut to £90 if paid within 14 days, and £270 after a charge certificate; you have 28 days to pay.

ULEZ and the toll crossings

The Ultra Low Emission Zone charges £12.50 a day for vehicles that do not meet the standard, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except 25 December. It covers all 32 boroughs, more than 1,500 km², and the M25 sits outside it. Petrol cars and vans must be at least Euro 4, which in practice means a car built from 2006; diesels need Euro 6, from September 2016. The penalty is the same £180, reduced to £90 within 14 days. Dartford Crossing (Dart Charge) costs £3.50 for a car per crossing, or £2.80 on prepayment, and Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels run £4.20 at peak and £1.55 off-peak with Auto Pay.

What to check before you drive

  • Vehicle checker: the TfL site confirms by registration number whether a car meets ULEZ, so check the Audi you booked rather than assuming.
  • Payment timing: the £18 Congestion Charge rate only holds on the day or in advance — leave it to the third day and it becomes £21.
  • Fuel: we hand the car over with a full tank and expect it back full; the missing fuel and a refuelling fee are charged as set out in the rental agreement.
  • Who pays what: how charges, tolls and penalty notices are handled on your booking is agreed with a manager when the booking is fixed.

In our experience the charge that catches people out is not the Congestion Charge but the ULEZ, because it runs around the clock and a single missed day shows up weeks later. If your trip stays inside the zone on a weekday, keep the £18 charge in mind before you decide between the Q5 and the A3 — an all-wheel-drive SUV is no help with a camera.

Rent an Audi in London for a weekend or a week

Two nights in the city and a seven-day stay need different cars, and the eight Audis split cleanly along that line: the A4 at £65 per day and the A3 at £80 suit short city trips, while the Q5 at £107 and the Q8 at £213 earn their rate on a long stay with motorway miles in it.

Audi car rental for a short city break

  • Two travellers, two nights: the A3 Cabriolet at £80 a day — four seats, automatic, 1.5 L and 150 hp — fits the West End streets and the roof comes down on the Embankment.
  • Five with cabin bags: the A4 at £65 is the only Sedan on this page, so four doors and a separate boot come as standard.
  • One-way thinking: a weekend that starts at Heathrow and ends at St Pancras & King's Cross is agreed with a manager when the booking is fixed, not assumed on the day.
  • Parking first: check the hotel's parking before you choose — a Q8 at 3.0 L is a different proposition in a tight basement bay than the 1.0 L A3.

The Q5 and Q8 are the two cars we point people towards for a stay of a week or more: 204 hp and 286 hp, both all-wheel drive, both five seats, and the Q8's 3.0 L diesel stretches a tank further on motorway runs than the petrol units of the other Audis on this page. A week is worked out as the daily rate times six, a month as the daily rate times twenty-one — so the Q5 at £107 per day runs to £642 for a week, and the A4 at £65 to £390. In our experience people book the big SUV for a month and then drive it twice; count the days you will actually be behind the wheel, and put the difference into the class you want for the days you will.

What to check in the rental agreement before you drive

The agreement is where the numbers that are not on this page live — the deposit, the insurance excess, delivery fees and any discount are set out in it, and Rent-Trip goes through them when the booking is fixed. Read the fuel line first: the car is supplied with a full tank and must come back full, and anything short of that is charged as the missing fuel plus a refuelling service fee. Then the charges that follow the car rather than the driver — who covers the Congestion Charge, ULEZ, the Dartford Crossing and the Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels, and who handles a penalty notice, is agreed at booking and not left to a letter three weeks later.

Documents and the first 12 months

Full, valid foreign licences can be used to drive in Great Britain for 12 months from your last entry into the country, and the minimum rental age, the young-driver surcharge and the cards accepted are agreed when booking rather than published here. Bring the licence you will actually drive on, and settle the age question with the manager before the delivery slot is confirmed — it is the one item that can move a booking.

Fuel, mileage and the return

  • Full-to-full: the car comes clean with a full tank and goes back full; no pre-paid tank or full-to-empty option is offered on this page.
  • Refuelling on the way out: petrol is £1.75 a litre and diesel £1.99, so a fill before the return leg is cheaper at a supermarket forecourt than at a motorway services.
  • Return time: the date and time of the return are the ones agreed with the manager at booking, and they sit in the same conversation as the delivery address.
  • Condition: the car comes clean, and any damage question is settled as set out in the rental agreement.

Common mistakes with Audi car rental in London

Most mistakes are about the day: a booking made for the wrong airport, a delivery address given as a street name without a postcode, a return time agreed for a morning flight that actually leaves at dawn. None of these is expensive to fix in advance and all of them are awkward to fix on the day.

Sizing the car to the trip, not to the idea of the trip

The R8 Spyder at £840 per day seats two and takes hand luggage only, and the RS7 at £490 is a five-seat Hatchback with 600 hp that will spend most of a city break in second gear. Both are magnificent on the right road and both are the wrong answer for a family week. Match the seats to the people and the boot to the cases first, then choose the badge.

Assuming the delivery point

Rent-Trip delivers to any address locally and to the six airports, and the delivery address, date and time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed. Anything outside those places is arranged case by case and is not promised on the site — so raise it early in the conversation rather than at the terminal kerb.

The Congestion Charge is £18 a day inside the Inner Ring Road, or £21 if paid by midnight on the third day after the trip, and ULEZ is £12.50 a day for a vehicle that does not meet the standard, 24 hours a day apart from 25 December. A five-day stay that touches the zone on each of those days adds up to a real sum, and who pays it on a rental car is agreed when booking — check the Audi you booked on the TfL vehicle checker before you commit to the model, because a compliant car changes the arithmetic.
