Sedan Fleet and Daily Prices

We rent 8 business-class sedans: Volkswagen Passat, Škoda Superb, Toyota Camry, Opel Insignia, Renault Talisman, Ford Mondeo, Peugeot 508 and Honda Accord. All have 5 seats and automatic transmission; daily rates range from 2,900–3,600 TL, VAT included. In the table below we compared the models by engine, power and fuel type.

The fleet is split between two fuel types: 5 diesel models (Talisman, Insignia, Passat, 508, Superb) and 3 hybrid models (Mondeo, Accord, Camry). Diesel options produce 130–160 hp, while hybrids offer higher performance at 184–218 hp. The most economical entry point is the Renault Talisman at 2,900 TL per day; the best-equipped hybrid, the Toyota Camry, sets the ceiling at 3,600 TL. We deliver cars to any point in Istanbul and to both airports for free; delivery is included in these prices, so you do not need to visit an office.

Prices including VAT means no surprise taxes will be added during rental. The point to note when comparing: some rental companies in Turkey show prices exclusive of VAT and add 20% at the time of payment. The figures in our table are final; no additional tax items will appear in the contract. When comparing prices among different companies for the same model, always check the "VAT included" note — otherwise, a car that appears as 3,000 TL could actually cost 3,600 TL.

Weekly and Monthly Rental — Formula and Advantages

In the sedan fleet, for weekly and monthly rentals, the price is calculated by multiplying the daily rate by six or twenty-one days: weekly from 17,400 TL, monthly from 60,900 TL. These amounts, including VAT, apply to the Renault Talisman at 2,900 TL/day; for hybrid models like the Toyota Camry at 3,600 TL/day, they reach 21,600 TL weekly and 75,600 TL monthly. The key advantage in the long term is the reduction in daily cost: one day is free in the weekly package, and nine days in the monthly package.

Weekly = Daily × 6, Monthly = Daily × 21

• Weekly rental: is calculated by multiplying the daily rate by six; over seven days of use, one day's charge is waived.
• Monthly rental: is calculated by multiplying the daily rate by twenty-one; over thirty days of use, nine days' charge provides an advantage.
• VAT-included prices: All amounts on the list include 20% VAT; no additional tax items appear in the contract.
• Payment plan: For long-term rentals, the fee is collected before delivery; the deposit block is additionally specified in the contract.

How the Daily Cost Decreases in the Long Term

In the weekly package, the effective daily rate remains higher than in the monthly package: a weekly Passat rental of 17,400 TL corresponds to a daily rate of 2,486 TL, while the same model on a monthly basis at 65,100 TL corresponds to a daily rate of 2,170 TL. The difference becomes pronounced for rentals exceeding two weeks; below that period, the weekly package is sufficient. For plans exceeding thirty days, extending the contract rather than renewing the monthly package is more advantageous—there is no delivery or contract renewal fee. If you will keep the car for more than a month for a business trip or out-of-town project, plan the rental period in multiples of thirty days to maintain the advantage of the 21-day multiplier.

Office-free delivery — wherever your car comes to you

Rent-Trip's sedan rental model has no physical office — the car is delivered to the point agreed in the contract and returned from the same place. This applies to every point in the city, including the two airports on both sides.

Delivery to Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW)

The two airports sit on opposite shores: Istanbul Airport (IST) is in Arnavutköy on the European side, while Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) is in Pendik on the Asian side. No matter which shore your flight lands on, sedan delivery works the same: your car will be waiting for you at the terminal exit before your arrival time. At Rent-Trip, the delivery process is coordinated with flight tracking in case of delays; when you land, the car is there. On your return, you drop it off at the same spot — no need to search for your car in the airport parking lot.

Delivery to Hotel, Workplace, or Home

Delivery is made to all districts on both the European and Asian sides of the city — whether it's the hotel where you're staying, the office you're visiting, or the address you're at (Şişli, Beşiktaş, Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Ataşehir, Bakırköy, and others). The car is brought to your address at the agreed time; key handover and contract signing take about 15 minutes. This model particularly saves time for drivers coming on business trips with busy meeting schedules.

How the Process Works Without a Physical Office

• Reservation: On the website, the sedan model and dates are selected, and the delivery address and time are specified.
• Approval: The Rent-Trip team confirms the reservation by phone or message and clarifies the delivery time.
• Delivery: The attendant brings the vehicle to the specified address; the agreement is signed, and the vehicle is handed over.
• Refund: Dropped off at the same point or at a different agreed address — no return to the office.

Having no office reduces operational costs; this is reflected in daily rates as VAT included. Where the vehicle will be delivered and return conditions are set out in the rental agreement.

Documents and Conditions for Foreign Drivers

The car rental process in Turkey is based on four essential documents for foreign drivers: passport, entry stamp, driver's license, and a credit card in the main driver's name. At Rent-Trip, the check of these documents is done at the moment the contract is signed before sedan delivery. The process is completed at the point where the vehicle is delivered, without the need to go to an office.

• Passport and entry stamp: The stamp showing your entry into Turkey is mandatory for the validity of the rental agreement. If you pick up the vehicle at the airport, the stamp obtained after passport control is sufficient.
• Local license: A valid driver's license issued in your own country is accepted. If your license is not written in the Latin alphabet (e.g., Arabic, Cyrillic, or Chinese characters), you must present an International Driving Permit (IDP).
• Credit card in the main driver's name: The card used for the security block must be registered in the name of the person listed as the main driver in the contract. The block amount and release time are set out in the contract.

When is an International Driving Permit Required?

Driver's licenses from countries using the Latin alphabet (including Germany, England, the USA, and France) are accepted directly in Turkey; no additional documents are needed with these licenses. In contrast, an International Driving Permit is mandatory for licenses issued in Arabic script, Cyrillic script, or Chinese characters. Do not come to Turkey without obtaining an IDP from the authority that issued your driver's license in your own country — police headquarters here do not issue this document. At Rent-Trip, document checks are carried out at delivery; without an IDP, the contract cannot be signed. If you get behind the wheel with a license in Cyrillic script and no IDP, you will be considered unlicensed during a traffic stop — this leads to the vehicle being towed and penal action.

Age and Driving Experience Conditions

For the sedan class, age and license experience requirements increase gradually depending on the car's class. At Rent-Trip, these conditions are clearly stated in the contract for each model; we inform you of the current terms at the time of booking. For young drivers (aged 21-25), additional documents or different conditions may apply—these details are also in the contract text. Before renting, check the date on your license: driving experience is calculated from the date of issue, and if this period is shorter than expected, you need to inform us in advance to avoid issues at the contract stage.

Diesel or Hybrid — Choosing in Istanbul Traffic

In the sedan fleet, the choice of fuel type depends on where and how much you will use the car. Of Rent-Trip's 8 sedan models, 5 are diesel and 3 are hybrid—both groups have automatic transmission and 5 seats. Make your decision based on whether you prioritize city density or long journeys.

Diesel Models: Advantage on Long Journeys

Diesel options consist of Passat, Superb, Insignia, Talisman, and 508; their power ranges from 130–160 hp. These models offer high torque at low revs, especially on routes from the megacity to places like Şile, Sapanca, or Bursa. On intercity travel, a diesel engine consumes significantly less than petrol; you can cover longer distances on the same tank. In weekly rentals, diesel models are represented by the Talisman, with prices starting from 2,900 TRY per day. If your schedule is predominantly long-distance, the 2.0-liter Passat or Superb in the diesel group provides a comfortable ride at highway speeds with 150 hp.

Hybrid Models: City Economy

On the hybrid side, the Camry, Mondeo, and Accord are available, with power ranging from 184 to 218 hp, exceeding the diesel group. These models lower fuel consumption as the electric motor engages in city stop-and-go traffic. Hybrid makes sense especially if you'll be covering short distances during the day in busy areas like Beşiktaş, Şişli, or Kadıköy. With its 2.5-liter engine and 218 hp, the Toyota Camry is the fleet's most powerful sedan; its daily rate is TRY 3,600. Thanks to their automatic transmissions, hybrid models offer a smooth drive in the city without gear-shifting hassle.

Engine and Power Comparison

If your daily budget is around 3,000 TRY, the Insignia or Mondeo offers a balanced option between long-distance comfort and city economy. Hybrid models cost on average 300–400 TRY more than diesel models; you can compensate for this difference with fuel savings in heavy city use. Whichever fuel type you choose, check the fuel level and policy at delivery as specified in the contract.

HGS, Bridges, and Out-of-Town Routes

When going out of town, bridge and highway crossings are made with the HGS tag; knowing how this system works and current fees is decisive in avoiding surprise fines.

What is HGS and how does it work

HGS (Fast Pass System) is the mandatory system in Turkey that provides electronic passage at bridge and highway toll booths. It works with a sticker affixed to your windshield or a balance defined to your plate; you pass without stopping and the fee is deducted automatically. Every sedan rented at Rent-Trip is delivered ready for HGS use, and tolls are reflected according to the terms specified in the contract. Like all registered vehicles in Turkey, rental cars are covered by compulsory traffic insurance, but bridge crossings are not related to this insurance—they are subject to a separate payment mechanism. Before setting out on intercity roads, checking that your HGS balance is sufficient prevents payment issues in the middle of your journey.

Current Tolls: Bridges and Tunnel

The night tariff at the Eurasia Tunnel is 140 TL instead of 280 TL; this difference is a significant advantage for drivers planning night crossings. The Osmangazi Bridge is the only crossing point used when heading towards Bursa and Uludağ, and its fee is noticeably higher than others. For intra-city Europe-Asia crossings, the route and time choice between the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Eurasia Tunnel directly affects the total cost.

Penalty for Unauthorized Toll Passage and Ways to Avoid It

If a vehicle with insufficient HGS balance or no tag makes a crossing, it is recorded as a "violation passage," and if not paid on time, the penalty can be up to four times the toll. The way to avoid the penalty is to pay the violation toll without penalty within 15 days after the crossing; within this period, only the toll is charged. The HGS status of the vehicle you receive from Rent-Trip is specified in the agreement, and your responsibility for crossings is limited to the rental period. If your long trip plan includes multiple bridge crossings, adding up the tolls of all crossing points on your route and loading your balance accordingly prevents you from encountering a surprise penalty notice on your return.

Out-of-Town Route Suggestions: Weekend Getaways with a Sedan

• Şile and Ağva: A weekend escape on the Black Sea coast about 1.5 hours from the metropolis; no highway crossing required.
• Sapanca: Accommodation by the lake with about a 2-hour drive; there is an HGS toll on the TEM motorway.
• Bursa and Uludağ: The crossing via the Osmangazi Bridge costs 1,170 TL; the sedan's trunk is sufficient for winter equipment.
• Cappadocia: Long journey of about 8 hours; diesel models consume less fuel than hybrids on this distance.

For weekend getaways, the Şile and Ağva route is the only option reachable without paying bridge and motorway tolls, and the sedan's comfort makes a noticeable difference over this distance. When heading to Sapanca, account for HGS tolls on the TEM motorway; the total cost remains low compared to bridge fees. If you are considering Cappadocia for a long trip, diesel models with engines in the 130–160 hp range are more economical over an 8-hour drive than hybrids — over this distance, the fuel consumption difference can be more decisive than the daily rental rate.

Diesel models consume 4.5-5.5 L/100 km on intercity roads, while hybrid versions maintain low fuel consumption even in stop-and-go traffic. Trunk capacity ranges from 480-530 liters — two large suitcases and carry-on bags fit easily. Since the ground clearance is lower than an SUV, wind noise is less at highway speeds and the ride is more stable. Additionally, daily rates for sedans are on average 15-20% lower than comparable SUVs — this difference is noticeably felt on weekly rentals.
