A Comfort class car at €79 per day therefore comes to €474 for a week and €1,659 for a month; a Premium model at €105 per day scales the same way, and the cap of the range — €159 per day — follows the identical arithmetic. The multiplier is fixed for the whole fleet, so a corporate client comparing two classes is comparing the daily figures and nothing else. In our practice, that is the single number worth putting in a budget request: once the daily rate is agreed, both longer rates follow from it without further negotiation. A month-long booking is priced as 21 charged days, so a car sitting idle at weekends still costs less than 30 separate days. If a project runs past the 21-day mark, price the remainder as a second monthly block rather than extending day by day — the difference shows up immediately on the invoice.

In our practice, teams that cover three or more meetings a day in the 1st to 11th arrondissements ask for automatic first — the €3–€20 daily step up over a manual is smaller than the time lost to clutch work in zone 1 parking queues, where the tariff runs 1 h — €6, 2 h — €12, 3 h — €24 and caps at 6 hours in one spot.

Hybrids and diesels for longer corporate runs

Hybrid models begin at €95 per day with the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and reach €145 for the Volvo XC60 with all-wheel drive. Licence requirements for drivers from inside and outside the EU

An EU or EEA driving licence is valid in France for the whole booking period, with no exchange and no time limit, as long as it is still in force. Drivers on a licence issued outside the EU or EEA can legally drive on their national permit as tourists, but any licence not written in Latin characters needs an official translation or an International Driving Permit alongside it — the IDP never replaces the licence itself, it is only a translation and must be presented together with the national document. Anyone living in France on a non-EU licence may drive for one year from the entry date stamped in the visa, and has to exchange the permit when they take up residence. For the booking itself the licence must have been issued more than a year ago, and digital licences are not accepted at all. On the IDP, the document must be no older than 3 years.

Insurance that comes with every corporate booking

Third-party liability — responsabilité civile — is compulsory by French law and is included in every agreement automatically; it covers injury and property damage caused to other people within the country's legal limits, but it does not cover the driver's own injuries. Collision damage protection (CDW) and theft protection (TW) are part of the base package on the French market: CDW limits the renter's liability to the excess and covers repair and the car's downtime, while TW covers theft, attempted theft and vandalism in a car park, also within the excess. The excess itself — franchise — is a fixed sum the renter pays on damage or theft, and it is not waived: it depends on the protection level chosen. A paid upgrade, rachat de franchise, reduces it on the Medium package and removes or substantially reduces it on Premium. Base cover does not stretch to tyres under abnormal use, glass unless from a collision, the sunroof and panoramic roof, the underside, misfuelling and the engine damage it causes, lost or stolen keys, or damage from negligence and intent.

• Deposit: the caution or dépôt de garantie is agreed when booking.
• Fuel policy: plein-plein — collected full, returned full.
• Mileage: kilométrage illimité means unlimited distance; the opposite, franchise kilométrique, is a capped number of kilometres.
• Additional driver: conducteur supplémentaire is a paid option added at booking.
• One-way drop-off: location aller simple returns the car in a different city.
• Vehicle class code: the SIPP code is a four-letter ACRISS code — size, doors or body, transmission, fuel and air conditioning — for example ECMR.

Card cover is worth checking before you pay for the excess waiver: Visa Premier and Gold Mastercard often cover the CDW and TW excess if the booking was paid with that card and the holder is the main driver on the agreement. The low-emission zone and the Crit'Air sticker

The ZFE de la Métropole du Grand Paris (Zone à Faibles Émissions) covers everything inside the A86 motorway, the A86 itself excluded, and takes in the boulevard périphérique, the Bois de Boulogne and the Bois de Vincennes. Crit'Air 5, Crit'Air 4, Crit'Air 3 and «Non classé» vehicles are banned from that perimeter. The sticker goes on the windscreen, and driving in without one is formally prohibited. Our Comfort, Premium and Sedan cars are recent enough to carry a valid class, which is why a car from our fleet can cross the city centre without a detour. Check the class printed on the certificate before the first trip into the zone — a vehicle sourced elsewhere may sit in a banned category.

Speed limits, the périphérique and the carpool lane

• Built-up areas: 50 km/h under Code de la route, art. R413-3, raised to 70 km/h on some stretches.
• Ordinary roads outside towns: 80 km/h, or 90 km/h on two-lane sections where the département has decided so (art. R413-2).

Two local rules matter for a corporate schedule. The boulevard périphérique is capped at 50 km/h since 1 October 2024 by a decision of the Paris city hall, rolled out from porte des Lilas to porte d'Orléans on the inner ring by 10 October, even though the Code de la route allows up to 70 km/h there. The left lane between Issy and porte de Bercy, both directions, is reserved for cars with two or more occupants, Monday to Friday 07:00–10:30 and 16:00–20:00, under an experiment running since 3 March 2025; using it solo costs €135, a fourth-class contravention, enforced since 2 May 2025.

Parking, tolls and the tunnel under the A86

The zone 1 tariff is progressive rather than hourly, applied under the visiteur rate in force since 1 August 2021 and split into 15-minute blocks. For a team parking near La Défense or Porte de Versailles all day, that curve is the real budget line, not the hire.
