A foreign licence is valid here for up to one year from the date you enter the country, and no exchange is required. If your licence carries neither Latin nor Cyrillic characters, an International Driving Permit or a notarised translation is needed, because the country is a party to the 1968 Vienna Convention. Upper sections see landslides and snow, and the pass closes when avalanche risk is high.
