What a Month of Self-Drive Rental Includes
Every car on this page is automatic and right-hand drive, because traffic in Thailand keeps to the left. The 24 cars split into Economy, Electric, Comfort, Minivans and Pickup trucks, and the daily rate runs from ฿750 to ฿1,300. Delivery, the date and the time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed, and a delivery fee, if any, is agreed when booking.
How the Monthly Rate Is Calculated
The monthly rate is the daily rate x 21, and the weekly rate is the daily rate x 6. That puts the cheapest car on this page, the Suzuki Swift at ฿750 a day, at ฿4,500 for a week and ฿15,750 for a month; the diesel Isuzu D-Max at the top of the range comes out at ฿27,300 a month.
What the Price Does Not Cover
- Fuel: petrol and diesel are paid at the pump, and island stations usually take cash — few accept cards.
- Fines: traffic-camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter.
- Security hold: a bank card in the main driver's name is used for it; the amount is set out in the rental agreement.
- Insurance excess: Class 1 insurance covers damage to the car, and its terms and the excess are set out in the agreement.

Twenty-three of our 24 cars take 5 seats, and the Toyota Avanza is the one 7-seat MPV at ฿1,200 a day.
Petrol, Diesel or Electric for a Month
We run 7 electric cars, 16 petrol and one diesel pickup, and fuel on the island is usually paid in cash because few stations take cards. The pumps carry E20, 91 and 95, and the diesel Isuzu D-Max at ฿1,300 a day is the only pickup on the page — 1.9 L, 150 hp, 5 seats, rear-wheel drive. Pick the fuel type before the model. The cheapest electric car, the BYD Dolphin, starts at ฿850 a day with a 44.9 kWh battery, and the MG ZS EV crossover gives 51 kWh and 177 hp from ฿1,100.

We deliver the car to any address on Koh Samui and to Samui International Airport (USM). The delivery address, the date and the time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed, and a delivery fee, if any, is agreed when booking.
Delivery to Your Address
We bring the car to the address you give us, whether that is a hotel in Chaweng, a villa in Lamai or a house in Maenam. You do not need to collect anything yourself and you do not need to travel to a hand-over point. The delivery address, the date and the time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed, and we confirm the slot once the details match your arrival. A delivery fee, if any, is agreed when booking, so nothing about the drop-off is left open on the day. If you land on an evening flight, a delivery the next morning means the first drive happens in daylight.
What to Have Ready When the Car Arrives
- Home driving licence: the licence from your own country, carried in the original.
- International Driving Permit: required for visitors from outside ASEAN; Thailand recognises the 1949 Geneva Convention permit.
- Bank card: a card in the main driver's name is used for the security hold, with the amount set out in the agreement.
- Rental agreement: the contract is written in Thai, as Thai law requires, and all fees and penalties are disclosed in it.
ASEAN nationals may drive on their national licence without an International Driving Permit. The minimum driver age is 21, and conditions for drivers under 25 and for premium classes are set out in the agreement. The car comes clean with a full tank.
The Agreement at Hand-Over

A month is long enough for paperwork to matter, so this section covers what a driver needs to carry, what the law requires on the road, and which conditions sit in the rental agreement rather than on the site.
Licence and Permit
A foreign visitor needs a home driving licence plus an International Driving Permit, issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention and recognised in Thailand through section 42 bis of the Motor Vehicle Act. Citizens of ASEAN countries may drive on their national licence without a permit. Driving without the permit carries a police fine of ฿500–1,000, and an insurer may refuse a claim — so the permit is not a formality. Bring the passport, the home licence, the permit and a bank card in the main driver's name; the card is used for the security hold, and its amount is set out in the agreement. The minimum driver age is 21, and conditions for drivers under 25 and for premium classes are set out in the agreement too.

Rules on the Road
Traffic keeps to the left and every car is right-hand drive, which is the single fact that changes a month of driving most. Alcohol is measured at 50 mg% in the blood, and 20 mg% applies to drivers under 20 and to holders of temporary licences; the sanction reaches up to 1 year of imprisonment, a fine of ฿5,000–20,000, or both, with a licence suspension of at least 6 months, and refusing the test counts as an admission. Children under 6 must ride in a child seat to the TISI standard, and passengers below 135 cm need a belt or a special seat; the fine runs to ฿2,000. Every passenger, including the rear row, wears a belt, and parking against a red-and-white or yellow-and-white kerb carries a fine a rental operator puts at ฿500.
Driving a Monthly Rental Around the Island
The ring road is 51 km and links the lowland and the coast — Nathon, Lipa Noi, Lamai, Chaweng, Bophut and Maenam all sit on it. The traffic keeps to the left and every car we hand over is right-hand drive, so give yourself the first day to unlearn the mirror habit before you take on the busier stretches.

Rain, and How It Changes a Month
October to December is the wet stretch: November alone averages 444.6 mm across 16.5 rain days, and October 294.9 mm across 15.8. Mid-October to early December brings the heaviest falls of the year, with flooded sections of road and a higher risk of sliding on wet asphalt. The dry season runs February to April — February is the lightest month at 64.3 mm over 4.3 rain days.

Insurance and the Rental Agreement
Every vehicle we hand over carries compulsory motor insurance, known in Thailand as Por Ror Bor, which covers injury to third parties and is attached to the registered car. We do not quote an excess figure on the site.

That matters for a long booking: if something goes wrong in week three, the document you signed on day one is what settles it, not a conversation.
