Motor Yachts in Dubai: Hourly Rates, Guests and Superyachts
Yacht charter in Dubai starts from AED 455 an hour for a 14-metre motor yacht, and the middle of the 69 models in this section sits at AED 1,100 an hour. Below: how the hourly rate and the minimum booking turn into a real total, what length, class and guest numbers do to the price, what a typical rate includes and where the boats depart from.
How a charter is priced: the hour, the minimum and the whole boat
Every one of the 69 motor yacht models on this page is priced by the hour, which makes them easy to line up against each other — and easy to misread, because no charter here is sold for a single hour.
What you book: the whole boat, with captain and crew
A yacht charter in this city means the whole boat for your group, not a seat on a shared cruise. The market offers motor yachts in two working modes that always go together: by the hour, and with a captain at the helm. Nobody in your group steers the boat, so a boating licence does not come into the decision at all. The Rent-Trip section brings together models from a 12-metre Majesty 40 for 6 guests up to a 50-metre superyacht for 50, and the same pricing logic runs through the whole range: one hourly figure for the boat, multiplied by the hours you stay on board. In my view, the honest way to read any rate on this page is to multiply it by three before you do anything else — and the next paragraph explains why.
The three-hour minimum and what it does to the total
The usual minimum order for a yacht rental in Dubai is 3 hours. That turns the cheapest model in this section, the Oryx 46 ft at AED 455 an hour, into AED 1,365 for the shortest booking, and the middle of the range, AED 1,100 an hour, into AED 3,300. At the top, the 50-metre Eclipse Sovereign Harbor 180 starts at AED 16,000 an hour, which means AED 48,000 for three hours on board. So the real entry ticket is a three-hour figure, not an hourly one. The gap between the cheapest and the most expensive three-hour booking is about 35 times, the same ratio as between the hourly rates themselves, because the minimum is the same for every boat.
Longer bookings and starting prices without dates
Some of the starting rates in this section are special hourly rates that apply only to bookings of four hours or longer. For those boats a three-hour booking can cost more per hour than the figure on the card, so ask whether the rate you see holds for the number of hours you actually want. All the prices on this page are starting prices without dates: the lowest figure a boat goes out for, not a quote for your calendar. One model name can also cover several boats. The Al Shali 50 ft, for example, starts at AED 650 an hour, while a second boat of the same make and size asks about AED 683. Treat each figure as a floor and a guide to the class of boat, then ask for a dated quote on the exact yacht you want.
Hourly rates from AED 455 to AED 16,000
With all 69 models priced in the same unit, it is possible to see exactly where prices cluster and which boats break away from the crowd.
Where most hourly rates fall
| Hourly rate | Models | 3-hour minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Under AED 600 | 9 | AED 1,365–1,797 |
| AED 600–999 | 20 | AED 1,947–2,847 |
| AED 1,000–1,999 | 20 | AED 3,000–5,100 |
| AED 2,000–4,999 | 12 | AED 6,000–14,100 |
| AED 5,000 and more | 8 | AED 17,100–48,000 |
Forty of the 69 models start between AED 600 and AED 1,999 an hour, so that band is the real core of the market. A quarter of the models start below about AED 770, and a quarter start above AED 2,320. The average rate, about AED 2,116, sits well above the middle value of AED 1,100, which tells you that a small group of very expensive boats pulls the average up. For budgeting, the middle value is the more useful number: half the boats here start at AED 1,100 an hour or less.
Starting prices by yacht length
| Length | Models | Hourly rate | Median |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 15 m | 8 | AED 455–1,100 | AED 564 |
| 15–18 m | 8 | AED 550–900 | AED 650 |
| 18–21 m | 20 | AED 550–7,500 | AED 947 |
| 21–25 m | 9 | AED 749–3,800 | AED 1,100 |
| 25–30 m | 18 | AED 1,000–8,500 | AED 2,000 |
| 30 m and more | 6 | AED 2,340–16,000 | AED 4,800 |
The median climbs steadily with length, from AED 564 for boats under 15 metres to AED 4,800 for those of 30 metres and more. The ranges inside each band, though, overlap heavily. A boat of 18 to 21 metres can start at AED 550 or at AED 7,500, and a boat of 25 to 30 metres can start at AED 1,000 — below the median of the 21-to-25-metre band. Length tells you the likely price level; it does not fix the price of a particular boat.
What a first budget looks like
For a first estimate, take the median of the length you need and multiply it by three hours. A group happy with a 15-to-18-metre yacht can plan around AED 1,950 for the minimum booking; a group that wants a 25-to-30-metre boat should plan around AED 6,000. If you need a specific make or a younger boat, add a margin, because the overlaps above show how far a single model can sit from its band. And if the date matters more than the boat, keep two or three models of similar size on your list, so a dated quote on one of them can be checked against the others.
Guest numbers, cabins and price per head
A Dubai yacht is usually booked for a group, so guest capacity often matters more than length — and the price per person can move far more than the hourly rate.
How many guests the yachts take
Capacity is stated for 68 of the 69 models and ranges from 6 guests on the Majesty 40 ft to 100 on the 33.5-metre Majesty 110 ft. The numbers fall into four groups:
- Up to 12 guests: 13 models, mostly yachts of 12 to 19 metres, plus three large boats of 22 to 27 metres set up for small parties.
- 13 to 20 guests: 20 models, the widest choice for a family or a group of friends.
- 21 to 30 guests: 21 models, the typical size for a birthday or a team outing.
- More than 30 guests: 14 models, from the Al Shali 85 ft and Majesty 85 ft for 35 people to the Majesty 101 ft for 65 and the Majesty 110 ft for 100.
Twelve models take 40 guests or more, so even a large company party has a real choice of boats, not just one or two.
Cabins and private space
Cabins are stated for 36 models, from 1 to 5. Three cabins is the most common layout (13 models), followed by 4 cabins (10 models) and 2 cabins (9 models); only the Sunseeker 95 ft has 5. Cabin numbers do not follow guest numbers: the 42.7-metre Benetti 140 ft takes 60 guests and has 3 cabins, while the Azimut 75 ft takes 12 guests and has 4. For an hourly charter, the cabin count is a guide to how much private space there is below deck, not to how many people the boat carries.
Price per guest across the range
Divide the hourly rate by the stated capacity and the picture changes. Across the 68 models with a capacity, the middle value is about AED 49 per guest per hour, or roughly AED 147 per person for a three-hour charter with a full boat. The cheapest per head are big yachts with big capacities: the Azimut 85 ft works out at AED 25 per guest per hour for 40 people, the Majesty 90 ft at AED 26 and the Majesty 110 ft at AED 30 for 100 guests. The most expensive per head are small-capacity luxury boats: the Lamborghini 63 ft costs AED 750 per guest per hour for 10 people, about 30 times the Azimut 85 ft. If your group is large, a larger yacht can therefore be the cheaper choice per person, even though its hourly rate is higher.
Motor yachts, large yachts and superyachts
The 69 models fall into three classes, and each class has its own price level, size range and typical group.
Yacht classes side by side
| Class | Models | Length | Guests | Hourly rate | Median |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Motor yacht | 35 | 12.2–20.7 m | 6–28 | AED 455–7,500 | AED 799 |
| Large motor yacht | 26 | 21.3–29.0 m | 12–55 | AED 749–6,800 | AED 1,450 |
| Luxury yacht and superyacht | 8 | 20.4–50.0 m | 15–100 | AED 2,340–16,000 | AED 4,800 |
Motor yachts make up half of the section and carry a median of 18 guests; large motor yachts carry a median of 30 at a median rate almost twice as high. The class medians — AED 799, AED 1,450 and AED 4,800 — are a better guide than length alone, because the class reflects the finish and the layout as well as the size.
Luxury yachts and superyachts from 20 to 50 metres
Eight models belong to the top class. The largest is the 50-metre Eclipse Sovereign Harbor 180, for 50 guests, at AED 16,000 an hour. Below it come two Benettis — the 120 ft at AED 5,700 and the 140 ft at AED 3,900, both for 60 guests — the BAIA 110 ft at AED 6,500 for 20 guests, and two Majesty superyachts, the 101 ft at AED 2,340 for 65 guests and the 110 ft at AED 3,000 for 100. Two luxury yachts complete the class: the Celestial Majesty Verona 95 at AED 8,500 and the 20.4-metre Celestial Majesty Charm 75 at AED 3,200, both for 15 guests. For a luxury yacht charter in Dubai, the market goes higher still: the very largest boats in the city reach about AED 20,000 an hour.
Makes behind the models
Nineteen makes are represented. Majesty has the most models (14, from 12.2 to 33.5 metres, AED 520–3,000 an hour), followed by Azimut (13, from 13.7 to 27.4 metres, AED 550–3,800) and Sunseeker (7, from 17.1 to 29.0 metres, AED 900–4,700). Majesty and Gulf Craft are built in the UAE, which partly explains why they are so common on local charter. Nine further models carry their own vessel names rather than a yard name — the Explorer Goldeon, Voyager Elite, Celestial Majesty and Eclipse Sovereign boats — and span 14 to 50 metres. Riva, Pershing, San Lorenzo, BAIA, Benetti and Lamborghini, with one or two models each, account for six of the eight boats that start at AED 5,000 an hour or more.
Why boats of the same length cost so differently
The tables above suggest a neat ladder of prices. Look at boats of exactly the same size, and the ladder falls apart.
Five yachts of 90 feet, five prices
Five models are sold as 90-foot yachts, all 27.4 metres long. The Majesty 90 ft starts at AED 1,040 an hour, the Sunseeker 90 ft at AED 1,430, the Azimut 90 ft at AED 3,200, the San Lorenzo 90 ft at AED 6,500 and the Riva 90 ft at AED 6,800. The same length, then, spans a gap of about 6.5 times. The 95-foot boats show the same pattern: the Fairline 95 ft and Gulf Craft 95 ft start at AED 2,000, the Sunseeker 95 ft at AED 4,700, the Pershing 95 ft at AED 6,000 and the Celestial Majesty Verona 95 at AED 8,500. Behind such gaps stand the yard, the finish, the age of the boat and how many guests it is set up for.
Inside one make the ladder breaks too
Even within one make, a longer boat is not always dearer. The Azimut 70 ft starts at AED 3,800 an hour, while the longer Azimut 75 ft starts at AED 1,100 and the Azimut 85 ft at AED 1,000. The Majesty 40 ft, the shortest yacht in the section, starts at AED 1,100, more than twice the AED 520 of the Majesty 48 ft. The Benetti 140 ft, six metres longer than the Benetti 120 ft, is AED 1,800 an hour cheaper. A model name with a length in it is a starting point for a question, not an answer.
More guests does not mean a higher rate
Guest capacity does not set the price either. The Majesty 110 ft takes 100 guests at AED 3,000 an hour, while the Riva 90 ft takes 15 guests at AED 6,800. The Lamborghini 63 ft, a 19.2-metre boat for 10 guests, starts at AED 7,500 — about 13.6 times the Princess 60 ft, which is almost the same length and takes 20. When two quotes differ widely, check the make, the class and the capacity before assuming one of them is wrong.
What the rate covers, payment and departure points
The hourly figure is only useful once you know what sits inside it, how payment is split and which marina the boat leaves from.
What a typical rate includes
A typical Dubai quote for a private yacht includes the captain, the crew and insurance in the hourly rate. That is why the captain never appears as a separate line on most offers — and why it is worth asking directly if a quote looks unusually low. In my experience, the cleanest comparison treats the captain and crew as part of the boat: if one offer bills them on top and another does not, the totals are not comparable until you add them in.
Deposit and payment on the day
The usual payment pattern is a 50% deposit to secure the date, with the remaining 50% payable on arrival at the boat. On a three-hour booking of a mid-range yacht at AED 1,100 an hour, that means AED 1,650 in advance and AED 1,650 on the day. On the Eclipse Sovereign Harbor 180, the same split means AED 24,000 before and AED 24,000 at the pier. Ask what happens to the deposit if you change the date or the number of hours, and get the answer in writing with the quote.
Dubai Harbour, Dubai Marina and the exact berth
The two main departure points for charter yachts are Dubai Harbour and Dubai Marina; one of the largest charter fleets in the city keeps most of its boats at Dubai Harbour. The marina affects how you get to the boat and where the cruise begins, so ask for the exact berth together with the price, and treat an offer that names only "Dubai" as incomplete.
What to put in a charter request
- Date and hours: give the exact date and how many hours you want on board, and confirm the rate holds for that number of hours.
- Guests: state the full headcount, children included, so the boat matches its stated capacity.
- Departure: name Dubai Harbour or Dubai Marina if you have a preference, or ask which one the boat uses.
- Inclusions: ask whether captain, crew and insurance are inside the rate, and how the deposit works.
- Exact boat: name the model from the cards on this page and ask whether the quote is for that boat or a similar one.
Reading two quotes for the same model
Two quotes for the same model are not automatically comparable, as the two Al Shali 50 ft boats at AED 650 and about AED 683 an hour show. Line up four facts for each quote — the hourly rate and the hours it applies to, the departure marina, what is included and the date — and only then compare the totals. A quote that cannot answer one of those four is not yet a price, whatever the figure on it says.
Key points before you choose a yacht
Five figures to keep in mind
- Hourly rate: the 69 models start between AED 455 and AED 16,000 an hour, with the middle at AED 1,100.
- Minimum: three hours is the usual minimum, so the real entry price runs from AED 1,365 to AED 48,000.
- Per guest: the middle is about AED 49 per guest per hour; big yachts for 40–100 guests go down to AED 25–30.
- Same length: five 90-foot yachts span AED 1,040 to AED 6,800 an hour, so compare make and class, not feet.
- Payment: captain, crew and insurance are usually in the rate, with 50% paid in advance and 50% on arrival.
