Every car carries compulsory motor insurance (Por Ror Bor), which covers injury to third parties and is attached to each registered vehicle. Can a foreign visitor rent and drive here
Yes — a foreign visitor needs a home driving licence plus an International Driving Permit issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention. Citizens of ASEAN countries may drive on their national licence, so an IDP is not required for them. Carry the physical booklet with the licence — an insurer may refuse a claim if the permit is missing at the time of an incident, and that refusal costs far more than the fine itself.

What the security hold is and how it works
- Security hold: a bank card in the main driver's name is used for the hold; the amount is set out in the rental agreement.
- Insurance excess: first-class (Class 1) insurance covers damage to the car, and the excess is set out in the rental agreement.
- Compulsory cover: Por Ror Bor covers injury to third parties and is attached to every registered car.
- Fees and penalties: since 30 December 2025 a car rental agreement is a contract controlled by the OCPB — written in Thai, with all fees and penalties disclosed in it.

The structure is straightforward. Class 1 insurance covers damage to the car, and its terms plus the excess sit in the agreement. Por Ror Bor, the compulsory motor insurance attached to every registered car, covers injury to third parties. VAT 7% is already inside the prices you see — ฿16,000 a day for the Panamera up to ฿35,000 for the Bentayga — so the daily figure is the daily figure.
What is agreed when booking
The deposit amount, the insurance excess, any delivery fee and any discount are set out in the rental agreement or agreed when booking — we do not publish a flat number. Where a condition is not fixed in advance, it is settled with a manager before the booking is confirmed. That covers the delivery address, the date and the time as well: you tell us where and when, we confirm it, and only then is the booking fixed.

- Elsewhere: arranged case by case — we do not promise a drop-off point that is not agreed in advance.
How the hand-over works
The delivery point, the date and the time are agreed with a manager before the booking is fixed, and any delivery fee is agreed at the same moment. Bring the documents listed in the rental terms — passport, home driving licence, International Driving Permit unless you hold an ASEAN licence, and a bank card in the main driver's name; the security hold on that card is set out in the agreement. The car arrives clean and with a full tank. The rest of the agreement is set out in the rental agreement, so read it through before the car reaches you.
Driving a luxury rental car in Bangkok with left-hand traffic and tolls
Thailand drives on the left and every car on this page is right-hand drive, so the steering wheel sits on your right and the fast lane runs along your right-hand side, not your left. The first ten minutes on Sukhumvit or Silom are the adjustment; after that the layout stops feeling inverted. Our delivery driver hands the car over with a full tank, so you can leave straight into traffic without hunting for a station first.
Payment is cash at the booth or an Easy Pass tag; M-PASS tags are also accepted, and the two are interchangeable, though a car carries only one.
- Motorway 7 (Bangkok – Chonburi – Pattaya): 149.3 km, nine payment points; from the Lat Krabang entry a passenger car pays ฿25 to Bang Bo, ฿100 to Pong and ฿105 to Pattaya.
- Motorway 9 (outer Kanchanaphisek ring): M-Flow gantries with no barrier — a camera reads the plate and the bill follows; a guide figure is ฿30–70 for a passenger car.
- Don Muang Tollway: 28.1 km above Vibhavadi Rangsit Road from Din Daeng to Don Mueang; a guide figure is ฿60–115 for a passenger car.
On M-Flow, ask at hand-over whether a tag is fitted and how the account is settled. Remember that traffic-camera fines are issued to the car owner and re-invoiced to the renter, so a photographed plate on Motorway 7 reaches you through the rental agreement rather than through the post.
Longer luxury car rental in Bangkok with weekly and monthly rates
A longer booking changes the arithmetic, not the car. The same three models stay on offer, but the weekly and monthly rates we quote are built from the daily figure: weekly is the daily rate multiplied by six, monthly by twenty-one. That is the whole mechanism — there is no separate long-stay price list to hunt for.

Where the roads actually go
- Hua Hin: the western seaboard route, 191.2 km by road, about 143 minutes without traffic.
- Kanchanaburi: west toward the river and the bridge, a route that rewards an early start and a full tank.
- Damnoen Saduak and Amphawa: the floating markets southwest, busiest in the morning.
Tolls, fuel and the practical side
Motorway 7 has nine payment points for light cars, and you can pay in cash or with an M-PASS or Easy Pass tag; the two tags are interchangeable but one car carries one. The Don Muang Tollway runs 28.1 km above Vibhavadi Rangsit Road from Din Daeng to Don Mueang, with a light-car guide of ฿60–115.
What to check before you leave
